I am Vietnamese, and I was very young when the 1986 version of Journey to the West first aired on TV. Back then, the economy was tough, and not every household had a TV. Every night around 8 or 9 PM, you could see people of all ages, from the elderly to children, gathering at a neighbor's house to watch the show. Each evening felt like a small community gathering, with everyone eagerly awaiting the broadcast. The opening theme song '云宫迅音' would echo throughout the neighborhood, creating a shared moment of excitement. When this song played, it always left us with a sense of longing for more.
