I didn't see the fire go out. I'm a firefighter, and we had a call the other day for a flue fire. The dampers were already shut when the fire started, but it was so hot that the smoke coming out the top were igniting upon contact with the fresh air with nice 5 foot flames. The only way you're probably gonna stop that fire is to cool it down. I carefully and slowly opened the fireplace door and dumped a cup of water in and that cooled it down significantly. No need to fill the house with smoke or dump excessive amounts of water in. Quick, easy, and inexpensive

There 6 fire regions that have stock and are using the product now. The feedback has been very encouraging.

Hi and thanks for your question.
In this case looks can be deceiving, they are made by the same manufacturer but the chemicals are different.
I would not use ChimFireStop as a road flare. It could easily impair viability as well as being harmful in other ways.
