For future reference - on something like the butterfly jeans it's best to place the stencils while wearing the jeans so you know exactly where they will be when wearing them. You also don't want jeans that are too tight because that will distort the shape.
Some interfacing around the edge of the cut out might help them hold their shape. I might have split the bigger butterflies into two or more smaller cut outs to make the butterfly and reduce the distortion when you move. Leaving the center thorax uncut in (supported with iron in interfacing) and bedazzled would have looked really cool!! Also you could mount a cool color fabric behind some on the cutouts!!

For the butterfly cut out jeans, you can get some fusible stabilizer from Joann's or a local fabric store; you then cut out the butterfly shape, line it up, and iron the stabilizer on the inside of the jeans. This will help the butterflys to keep their shape and help to prevent the denim from fraying to much. 😊 Hope this helps

I was also really intimidated by sewing and embroidery. I think it's my favorite hobby now. I love how the skill threshold for beginners is basically non-existent, you can learn most of the basic stitches in an afternoon, but there are limitless ways to apply them and new challenges that you can tackle. It's great. Everyone should give it a go. And I say this as someone who gave up learning to knit, not because I didn't enjoy knitting, but because the counting and math was overwhelming

I have a suggestion - the feather arm things for the kylie jenner diy look to similar to purple colour in the glass mosaic dress. have you considered cutting up the arm things and adding them to the bottom of the mosaic dress? that was it will add some length to the dress and you can pretend you have a mosaic gown-ish dress and because of the feathers the design will be unique to you. just a thought

Hey, Hope! Buy cheap crystals 10:29 for the other boot to compare the real difference…They are sooooo cool and I really want to see you sporting them! Also 😊 maybe use waterproof epoxy resin to apply crystals and rough up the leather with sand paper or a nail file to help them adhere. Best of Luck!

For the cutout jeans, you could interface like others have said, or line with a skin-tone power mesh. It'll keep everything in place and aligned, and you won't have to worry about the pointy bits getting bent outward.
