- As they say "3rd try's the charm" and for this B1 that was the case after declaring an IFE whilst returning to base from deployment and has been stuck at RAF Fairford for repairs for a few weeks. and today finally on the third attempt it departed back home to Ellsworth AFB.

A Legend and What a Splendid looking aircraft!
One of Gods Mighty Warriors that an enemy would NOT want to mess with!
Happy landings Always good chaps.
JB. UK.
To the retired F-111 crew chief i had a posting to a squadron when I was in the RAAF what a machine it was!
Ome of the most beautiful aircraft ever to fly
reminds me of a dog, like a wolfhound, with whiskers.
I agree. The Americans instinctively seem to know how to make things that look good
@@colyniek not always. look at any of the cars they made in the 90s.
“Cough Cough VULCAN cough cough”
Absolutely gorgeous. I think only the F14 Tomcat is sexier.
There are some very lucky people out there who get to operate these kind of machines
and three of them touched a moving b1 wings
I saw one of these very early one morning from Lambert International in St. Louis. The sun was just coming up and I hear this thundering sound ... it was a Lancer in full afterburner mode taking off.. it looked like a rocket laying on its side. Just incredible as it took off into the sunrise.
Bunny running across the field at 3:30 .......just after yeah!
And now it's deaf.
Yeah ! I saw it too !
I was a mechanic on the first 7 of these b1b ❤❤
That big bad mother rocking the Cotswolds what an Aircraft that is nearly as nice as the AVRO VULCAN ( Being British & only living 2 miles from where it was built 👏👏👏👏👏 both stunning Aircraft .😊😊
SUPERB 4 burning and turning! I like the way the wing fold doors close at 3:43! I was an aircraft engineer in the RAF in the cold war, we rarely saw the B1 But the B52's were regular visitors at our base! They came over on detachment, for bombing competitions against our Vulcans. Sadly now the UK have no large bombers left.... (big mistake). The B52's would take off in a group of 6 early in the mornings returning in the afternoons. The USAF guys were great to work with and we showed them British hospitality and loads of beer! GREAT FOOTAGE I go here to see RIAT now Greenham Common is closed - it used to be held there.
Thanks for hosting us, Mates on the other side of the pond!
Not a military veteran (like my parents and oldest brother), yet I appreciate all who serve, AND as a designer, I especially love the function and form of our American military aircraft. Too many to mention, so I'll just say the B1B is the best! We used to live in Burbank CA in the flight path of military jets on their way to a fly-over of the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. One year it was two or three B1's. Uh-mazing. Thanks to all the pilots.
Beautiful. And no electric engines can replace the power of those.
Seen it once at an airshow. Truly spectacular. Sound and sight.
Great aircraft. I was fortunate enough to work the program in Columbus, Ohio.
That really is a beautiful, svelte aircraft. I stood behind one at an air show; I'm over six feet tall and could stand tall inside one of those engine nozzles.
Cool as hell to pilot that thing!
When Russia and the U.S. signed the START treaty in 2007 to reduce nuclear armament, the B1 Lancer had a metal sleeve welded to a pylon to prevent the B1 from carrying cruise missiles. Now that Russia has backed out of the START treaty, does anyone know whether the U.S. is enabling Lancers to once again carry cruise missiles? With North Korea, China, and Russia all talking about nuclear war, it would seem a prudent step.
it would considering what the Tu-160M can carry.
It wouldn’t be worth it to re-configure them since they’re being retired soon.
It can carry cruise missiles again. Lots. Google it
Beautiful and awesome footage of the afterburners from the B-1B Lancer !! 😊
That is a Lancer used as a long range heavy bomber. She has been a workhorse for the USAF.
I love the Skylarks at the end singing to each other - "yep, good try".
Watching this on a Sunday morning with my cat, his ears pricked up when the engines ignited….😸😺
I keep checking riaat updates for this to be confirmed. Would love to see this flying in person. Fingers crossed!
The sound of FREEDOM
The noise of the burners coming in is unreal. Incredible footage and audio mate. Superb!!
Thanks mate
I have yet to see one of these beauties doing this up close.
I was a software engineer on these guys in the early 80's.
Liked the March hare.
He nearly got cooked 😮
Top service many thanks
One of the primary missions for which the B-1B was designed is the in-conflict delivery of nuclear weapons. 😲
Dude this is epic! Well done!
Thanks bud !!
I SO want to see on of these launch out of Saint Maartens!
Was at Citadel vs. VMI game in Memorial Stadium in Charlotte and the pre-game flyover was a B1. When they came over the end of the stadium the concrete stands were shaking enough for drinks to fall over. It was so low they must have been out of regs.
Crewchiefed and worked ISO on these for 6 years, beautiful yes but a total PITA (Pain in the a**) to work on and to keep them flying. 30years USAF and ANG (retired).
Thank you!
Very nice video👍I've often wondered what the trail of something at the back (centre left) is, it was still trailing as it passed overhead at 09. It can't be fuel surely!
I think it is fuel, if you watch closely at the wing joint when he jolts forward you can see some fuel splash out
@@Mac-1Media Blimey, wouldn't fancy that back there with the ABs but must be a design feature for venting. Your video is so clear you can see a little outlet it emerges from👍🎞
thanks it's filmed on cinema spec camera :)
yeah baby headphones recommended......awesome
Lights them fing afterburners, sits a second or two, releases them brakes, she squats a little then...YE-HAW...here we go!!!
Fantastic!! Lovely video!!
Should see it at night. the afterburner is awesome
I have, check my instagram got a slow-mo burners at night
actually I do have an upload on here from night ua-cam.com/video/uqKBtXzwG7c/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
What is that thing that closed at 3:43? And what role does it play?
it's to do with the wing sweep, that locks the wings in position when swept the wing folds into that area
Oh, thanks, got it
And yeah, really nice video! And especially that rocket engine sound from afterburners!!
@@shortaristocrat69 thanks much appreciated
belongs in a star wars movie....
Whats leaking out of what looks like a short antenna at the back? Its dribbling as it lines up then when afterburners light it starts to smoke then after its going down the runway it smokes a lot. Is it some kind of bleed or breather?
Normal fuel leak
@@nightjarflying Normal fuel leak? Thats not great is it pouring parafin out all over the local countryside? Is it coming out of a tank vent because of the acceleration.
@@dr_jaymzB1Bs have always leaked somewhat from various places. Huge aircraft with a lot of airframe stress due to loads, manoeuvrers & temp changes. Don't know the cause of this one.
I thought maybe the afterburners were starting to burn off the paint on belly? Sounded like a rocket on HiFi speakers!!
Such grace
Incredibly sinister looking aircraft. Like a giant poisonous insect. Wouldn't want to be the enemy on the receiving end of that ...
BUGS 🐰 ALMOST GOT COOKED RABBIT 🐇 STEW. LMASO AWSOME
Unbelievable maneuverability. I was working at McConnell AFB building the flight simulator building and got to see what it can do. Incredible aircraft that should have never been moved to Texas, no thanks to President Bush.
3:30 Poor bunny was trying to sleep!
Awesome!
Did you see the rabbit?
Nice video
is that the vulcan...????
No its an American B1, there are no British Vulcans left flying anymore they were all scrapped or put in museums
This aircraft was near full load. Slower than normal climb and burner for longer than normal.
Afterburners on takeoff, then shut down once airborne.
3:30 Jack Rabbit 🐇
Hare!
Gotta love the BONE!
Bad to the Bone!!!
Makes one proud to be an American but at the same time it makes one sad to think what that awesome machine is designed to do.
If that's a beautiful aircraft then I'd like to say the VULCAN is absolutely "GORGEOUS" from Every conceivable angle come rain or shine , the designers must have smoked and drank some exceedingly strong and illegal substances to produce the B1and the VULCAN
Bunny at 3:29
HARE I think
When you look at this plane and understand it's capability, do you really think any other country would want to screw with the USA or it's allies ?? It would be suicide.
Iran just did.
The USA is a joke run by a much bigger joke in Biden. He is purposefully inciting WW111
That's three minutes of my life I will never get back. Why not ditch the boring part.
you had the option to skip ?
Let’s send this to visit the Ayatollah
A lot of build up followed by a fairly boring uneventful take off.
America just has to figure out a way to put electric engines on these poluting air planes!
No, they don’t 😂
And about as much carbon emissions my car will produce in its entire lifetime.
Such a beautiful aircraft.
