Finally caught up with this series! For potential next steps, I really want to see a matchup of Elves vs Rhun because you barely see them. You might help your Elven kin to the east in their battle! You could also of course secure Fangorn by making sure Isengard with its palantir are yours
Hello, my friend. A nice episode, as you are about to finish Dol Guldur, which is very nice. Your economy grows and you push the Orcs out of the forest. It will truly become the Mirkwood Kingdom, as it meant to be! I'm very sure for Thranduil's army, having all those supreme generals with him, plus some very good troops. With Dant'alad only in the Orcs' hands, I think everything can be concentrated on them, crush them and proceed to the final stage of the campaign, the one about the One Ring and the destruction of Mordor - if you choose so. As I see the situation that is forming now, you'll have two problems in your later stages, the one is Mordor, which you'll border in Dant'alad (if you keep it, as it doesn't border the Forest), and Rhun, which will border you in Dor Lhingvar. I suppose a good fighting force can help Rohan deal with Isenguard and maybe get a force to aid Gondor, but this has to wait until you finish Dol Guldur. Another enemy you must take out is the Goblins of Moria, which threaten you and they hold lands that were of the Beornings, you must liberate the Humans from the oppresion of their archenemy. And now, let's get a small episode for our story: Thranduil set the siege out of Ost-in-Geil and waited, as Himlaeg told him that Legolas was coming down with a small army, but Celeborn, Haldir and Enpremi were closer. The union of the legends of the Forests was a happy one and their forces were more than enough to set the typical ambush. As the Orcs came out, provoked by a small band of cavalry archers that raided one of their campas, they came out, only to get pinned from the archers. The infantry had very little to do, except from cleaning the last survivors. Celeborn paid the respects to the King he had agreed to have as his governor, but Thranduil greeted him like a friend, giving him the seat at his right. Enpremi also received some praise from Thranduil, while Haldir and Himlaeg came to sit on the left side, along with the supreme commanders. Celeborn spoke first, siting the fights of the Realm of Lorien and how he treated the Union after they came out to siege Dol Guldur. Thransuil's original plan worked perfectly, as the Orcs were caught in two prongues and were forced to retreat. With Amon Lanc sustaining all the small armies and the leftovers behind its strong walls, the road to Dor Lhingvar and Dant'alad was open, which were the very last holds of the Orcs of Mirkwood. "But now", Celeborn finished his speech, "we are in strange roads to choose. We will surely finish the job with the Orcs here, as I highly doubt if there is enough force of them to bother us. I am of the opinion for us to wait for your son Legolas to join us, if it pleases you". "Definitely", Thranduil said. "Legolas will come soon, as I've set for him some missions and he will catch up with us". "I want to point out that our position will not be more secure, though", Enpremi took the speech here. "We will border Mordor and Rhun and we will have to fight in two fronts. So, I say that our forces should be reinforced with the best we can in Dor Naurhach and Dor Lhingvar, which is where we head from here, I suppose. A message that I handle comes from Rhosgobel and Orthordir, who also points out exactly this". Thranduil took the message and gave a look, but he also gave it to the others to give it a glance. "Orthordir is one of my closest companions", he said. "I've also thought of it and I am inclined to follow his advice. But first, we'll have to finish the job with the Orcs in our Forest and then councel about what we'll do with Dant'alad, as I am splitted whether we keep it or we give it to either Dale or Dorwinion. Can I ask for what Lady Galadriel thinks of it?". "I'm not entirely sure about it", Celeborn answered. "But I think that she also has no idea. She will come in contact first, before giving her councel to the King". "As it must be done", Thranduil ageed politely. "We should also think of our western borders", Haldir got in the conversation there. "Beorn's Halls is a point where we are pressed from the Goblins and I hear that our castle in Framsburg is also under siege again. Maybe we should give attention there and try to reach the territory of Khazad-dum, which is thriving, so that we get the upper part of the Misty Mountains and let the Dwarfs to eliminate the Goblins in Eregion". "That is also a possibility", was Thranduil's reaction. "I often say, one step per time. That doesn't mean that you are all wrong. But first, we should march south to Dor Lhingvar. I hear that we'll have a pretty good fight there, as it's one of the very last armies that the Orcs have. All our forces should concentrate there. But first, we should give time for my son to come close and give us news of his mission. Our next steps will have to wait, according to what exactly we'll have in the horizon". All of the generals nodded in agreement.
we can say tweak the rules and say that only once the all of the regions surrounding are friendly the elves can go further, so, we consolidate it, then we can go further, then we make all the regions around friendly, then we can go further and just keep going, and say that after healing the forests, the elves are healing the rest of the world
You tweak the rules by saying that elves couldn't properly fight coz they get their powers from trees and dol guldor contaminated it thus weakening the elves so they could only work around the forests but now the realms are connected and the forests are clear of orc scum therefore the elves can use their full might and get any settlement they want as they don't have to fear the pollution of forest but for this dol guldor must be completely eradicated. Or you can continue the rules and capture fangorn isengard and mountain regions like misty Mt. and angmar territories like carn dumm as they are mountainous areaa

Awesome content once again Ligizd!
I suggests that after you conquer mirkwood go and help Elrond and Aragorn
