Thanks for each video you do. Just had a quintuple bypass at 57 years old (3 Weeks ago) I was already a fairly healthy eater, ie...organic and lots of fruits/veggies. Guess I need to dial it back another notch. I've been trying to watch as much of you as I can. I love your calm but fun videos. Thanks again.
I made brownies using coconut flour today and it was so dry so I came looking for a solution. Thank you so much. Recipe called for 1/2 C of C flour, 2 eggs, and no liquid except melted butter. Now I know how to improve my baking. I never want to use regular flour if I can help it. I also love using unsweetened applesauce with my baking for years but now I will incorporate it with my keto baking as well. Thnx a bunch!
I have recently been diagnosed with a ton of allergies and there are so many things that I cannot have, such as bananas or baking powder/ soda. I tried making a 4 ingredient coconut cookie two days ago with carbonated spring water and they came out okay-ish. I didn't want to add too much stevia because I heard how sweet and concentrated it was but might add more in this next batch I'm going to try today. If you have any recipes that involve coconut flour without any of the following, I would be so grateful! CANNOT CONTAIN: Soy, wheat, yeast, gluten, dairy, nightshades ... I would really love a good starting point for some good healthy treats. My sister just loves your channel.
Thank so much for this video. Today I grabbed a bag of coconut flour from Trader Joe's. I happened to glance at it, and remembered that alot of the baked recipes I have been seeing uses coconut flour. So thanks alot, and I will take a look at your recipes for using coconut flour.
Very helpful!!! I bought some coconut flour about a month ago, but haven't used it yet, because I wasn't quite sure how the measurements worked...I'm so thankful I came across your video. I think I'll test it out your coconut flour chocolate chip cookie recipe.
Ahhh! Dani, thank you! This is why I love your channel! Very informative and very clearly explained! I bought some a couple of weeks ago and didn't know what to do with it. So looking forward to your doing some tasty recipes using coconut flour. Thanks for all you do and share!
First to hear of it as coconut flour. When we lived in Asia we made coconut milk however every one threw it away after squeezing the milk out. It might make a good zucchini bread or banana bread.
Just bought Coconut flour with the sole intention of dredging my fish and chicken in it for "new flavors"...thanks for the lesson! Will have to try your recipes!
Dani, your doing a great job with your channel! It's definitely clean and delicious but very informative as well. Glad your doing cookies next week.. Can you also do some sort of backed goods with the fruit like you suggested?! Btw I tried your cornbread stuffing for thanksgiving and everyone was sooooo impressed with me, sent them all over to check you out!
Thank you ! I have SO many recipes and videos I want to do… I'm gonna get to them ALL! And I am so happy you all liked the stuffing:) Thanks for sharing the love.
Bread was always my vice and I kidded myself that wholemeal bread with seeds was healthy. I worried that cutting bread out of my diet would cause me to not be satiated and my keto journey would be one filled with hunger. How wrong I was! I only have two meals per day now and one is based around an omelette, while the other contains a home-made flatbread that I make myself. I use a 50:50 mix of coconut and almond flour - or sometimes just the almond flour - and thus far, I have lost 56 pounds!
@@edss7778 Hi, I prefer to fry mine on a low heat, 5 minutes either side on a medium heat. That gives a little bit of crispy crunch. When I'm lazy or busy, I might fry ten minutes either side on a low heat, for more crunch. If I want to create a more ' potato cake ' texture, I'll leave in the fridge overnight. If I want a pizza base, I'll give it 10 minutes in the oven, before adding the topping, then 10 more minutes in the oven. Hope this helps.
Hello Dani, have just begun to plug in to your videos, really like what I have seen so far, thank you. I have a question about Coconut Flour. My Daughter lives with me she is 47 and had an Allergic reaction as a child to flake coconut & has never eaten Anything with Coconut since Do you feel it would be safe to try the Flour? If so what would be a simple way? Thanks again for your wonderful videos and your help. Nancy
Nice one. Clear and concise. Now, what the heck is coconut palm sugar? Is it a substitute for granulated sugar and what's its carb count? Is it useful to diabetics?
I have tried one of your chocolate chip cookie recipe with coconut flour. My family loved them. I need to get back to cooking/baking again, but I hate cleaning up. My mom takes care of the cooking and baking, sooooo maybe one day I may take ome of the meals.
thank you for this information. I tried to make banana bread using coconut flour in the same amount as regular flour and I ended up adding more liquid cause I thought it was too try but I should have just left it alone. thanks again!
Thanks Dani for this video, I was recently at my local Big Lots and they had this coconut flour. I bought it because I had never seen it before but had no idea on how to use it. So I really appreciated this quick video. I'm gonna try your coconut flour cookies. Thanks again. Also they had some rice flour, have you ever used that? Yes I bought that too. Lol
You're welcome, Lisa! Definitely give the cookies a try and let me know what you think :) I haven't done much with rice flour, but will def add it to my list ;)
thanks for that info! just converted whole oranges cake recipe to coconut flour, and it turned out amazing! let me know if you want the recipe, i think it's clean and delicious :)
Wow really very informative, I learnt a lot, which only made me more aware of my ignorance about coconut flour and coconut in general😅😁. Time to change this!
Thank you for the info. I was searching to find out if I need to refrigerate coconut flour. Does it get rancid on the shelf? Do I need to refrigerate or freeze it? Thank you.
Thanks so much for making this video. I'd been really wanting to try using coconut flour and this was really useful :) Looking forward to your cookie recipe x
ive used this in body powder with arrow root adn essential oils as talc now we find out causes cancers of skin and we breathe it in to our lungs so this is a nice flour. also good for keto diets thanks for sharing
Hola Dani...as always I love your videos...I would like to know if Coconut Flour is the same as Coconut Meal...I can't seem to find this answer anywhere...Thank you for your fabulous channel 💚
Thanks for the heads up on Coconut Flour as well learning something new. Make sense you can make a flour out of the dried Coconut Meat. On another note If you grate the Coconut meat you remove from a Coconut its very damn good to use in making smoothies as it packs a huge amount of fiber as well adds some sweetness.
Hi Dani, thank you for giving us so much information about coconut flour. I have heard good things, but no one has been specific. Now I feel very informed. I want to just introduce some healthier Flours into my baking and my diet. I wanted to know should I put my coconut flour in the freezer? I have some of my other flours in the freezer as I read that it helps keep them fresher. Should I do the same with my coconut flour? Thanks so much Dani. Going over to check out the chocolate chip cookie recipe😊
Clean & Delicious thanks so much Dani. I really appreciate you getting back to me so quickly. I just bought it so I think I'll wait a bit. Hopefully I'll use it up before I have time to put it in the freezer LOL. Again I really appreciate you getting back to me so quickly. XO
Hey Danny 😂🤣, I just did what you said not to do with jumping into using coconut flour, now I wish I had come to you and know, now I'm stuck with this big mess that I'm trying to get out of. I did read on the coconut flour bag but that was awhile ago and I totally forgot about how to incorporate it into new recipes. "Stupid me".
Hey Dani! Does this flour rise? or do you need to use baking powder to rise it? Thanks, good video. BTW, you had a very nice glow in your face on this video.

Hi... My son has a lot of allergies and one of them is tree nuts do you have a list or suggestions of what can use beside almond flour? Is coconut. Flour ok to use? Thankyou
Can somebody recommend some applications where coconut flour excels simply for what it is, as opposed to being an alternative to regular flour? I've never used it and I'm only curious because I see it STACKED at my local market, and they're pushing it like nobody wants it and they are trying to get rid of it. In general I really like coconut, but in this example let's assume that I don't give two bits about nutritional value, gluten content/absence, vegan or not, etc. For example, if you have a recipe/use that has bacon steak a pound of butter plus lard and a half-eaten baby seal on top using that uses coconut flour in such a way that makes it the best choice for a purely selfish and irresponsible yet fantastic tasting result, that's what I'm looking for. Thanks for any useful contribution you may have, and for understanding the spirit of my silly request.
Awesome stuff madame. Thank you as always, for your informative videos. I always learn a lot. How is this stuff on carbs? I'm thinking because of atkins. Do you think it's something you could blend in with almond or acorn flour? Thanks again.
There are 11g of carbs in 2 tbsp of the flour. It definitely can be combined with other flours but it will probably take a bit of trial and error. If I were you I would try searching the web for a good recipe to use as your base.
May I know if I can make coconut flour myself, using the coconut pulp after I extracted the milk for cakes? I will dry the pulp under the sun & grate into powder? Thank you
Was curiously wondering with Coconut Flour, how well it would work sprinkle coated onto bake chicken like with the seasoning to increase crispyness. I would get the idea it can make things a bit more crispy since its a bit absorbent with moisture.
Would you know a good recipe for coconut cake. Like adding this flour, using coconut milk, and coconut oil. No dairy products. And for the frosting the same using mostly coconut ingredients. I bet it would be great, I tried to look for a recipe like this but no luck.
Thanks for this helpful video 🙏♥️ I wanna make nuts seeds' crackers but I'm thinking of cutting half the amounts of seeds and nuts and replacing this half with coconut flour.. Do u think it will work well?
can i make the coconut flour out of the pulp when making coconut milk, muck like when i make almond milk and use the almond pulp and use that? also how is the taste? i am not a big fan if coconut but my family is. if i can integrate other flavors, sometimes i can eat it. thanks for videos love them.
onetweetygirl71 I would think you can but I have never tried it yet. As for flavor there is a mild sweet coconut taste - if you like coconut its delish.
onetweetygirl71 I make homemade coconut flour at least twice a week...we do a lot of coconut milk kefir and I have flour coming out my ears. Blend the meat with water (I use 4 cups of water per coconut...and btw get a de-meating tool..it is super essential, time saving and finger saving), strain (I use my omega juicer, any vertical or horizontal slow masticating juicers will work...not centrifugal) and dehydrate the pulp, then grind into flour grinder (I use Vitamix dry container) This is so much cheaper than buying just flour. For $2, I get yummy coconut water, 5 cups coconut milk (thats the final yield with 4 cups of water) and flour. You can also make your own coconut butters at home....if you have never tried it you are missing out...it tastes sinful. De-meat, but do not de-fat coconut (i.e. do dont blend with water to make milk), grind to shreds (I use juicer with blank plate, but a food processor would work.) Now is most important step...dehydrate it thoroughly...you cant have any water left in it...I leave it for 2 days in my excalibur. Then put in food processor until the oils are released you have a creamy butter. I have found that the texture is less gritty if I use my Vitamix, but the food processor works too. ENJOY your coconuts!!
I always wondered does coconut bread for example or other recipe involving coconut flour have a strong taste of coconut? because i dont like my chicken fingers to smell like coconut. Also if you put more eggs instead of flour, does not taste more like omelet?
I was hoping to find a low protein recipe bcos I have Kidney Disease & have to eat very low protein, phosphorous & potassium. Maybe you can offer some Kidney Friendly No Wheat, No Grains recipes low in what I already mentioned. You would be offering millions of Kidney sufferers an alternative. Thank you.

+FreeSudani consider using your tried and true pizza crust recipe and add in a few tablespoons of coconut flour and see how it comes out. The next experiment, increase your coconut flour, and then again. Keep experimenting to see what combination of wheat flour and coconut flour gives you the best crust texture. You are awesome! We've had a big bag of coconut flour from Costco and have only used it once so far soooo i am super excited for cookies recipe next week! Also VERY sad there were no bloopers :(
Hi Danny, thank you for lovely video, I have a question, how do you make the coconut flour not too dense? I heard you say in another video to put some arrowroot powder which I did and it helped a bit but still the muffins cane out denser than my liking! I put 2 teaspoons for 1/4 cup of coconut flour.. would love to hear from you
I have personally not tried it yet, but I recently watched a video where a person meringued the egg whites before adding them to the mix, it seemed to make the bread they were making, rise a bit higher. Not sure if it will help, but it certainly couldn't hurt to try.
If you have high cholesterol it’s best to ask your doctor or dietitian how much coconut products you consume. The cardiologist of my husband advised him to stay away from coconut after his open heart surgery. He said if he insist, coconut water is ok.
I found a half pound bag of organic coconut flour in the $Tree . Thank You for all of the terrific information!!
Same that’s why I’m here lol

I Wouldn't say I had an epic fail but my coconut pancakes came out very thin, but I will eat them and try again!!
Thank you very much for your video! I just discovered coconut flour and this was very informative for me!
Happy to hear that!

would this be low on glycemic index?

Thanks for the video. I learned so much and i'm actually convinced coconut flour is more than just a fad. I'll have to try it out!
China Aquino I think it is as well - I'm a big fan!
Hi Danny, thank you for lovely video, I have a question, how do you make the coconut flour not too dense? I heard you say in another video to put some arrowroot powder which I did and it helped a bit but still the muffins cane out denser than my liking! I put 2 teaspoons for 1/4 cup of coconut flour.. would love to hear from you
This is all new to me! I'll have to experiment with it. Sorry I can't be of more help.
I have personally not tried it yet, but I recently watched a video where a person meringued the egg whites before adding them to the mix, it seemed to make the bread they were making, rise a bit higher. Not sure if it will help, but it certainly couldn't hurt to try.
Can I use for French macaron, sponge cake, or other desserts???
If you have high cholesterol it’s best to ask your doctor or dietitian how much coconut products you consume. The cardiologist of my husband advised him to stay away from coconut after his open heart surgery. He said if he insist, coconut water is ok.
