Thank you for this review! I've been curious about it for so long though I never got the courage to build a copy for myself, but now I see I will love it.
Wow! I printed this game a few years and I was just looking at yesterday. Although I put back in gaming closet. As I said before, thanks for the time and videos you do for us. Shout out to gamer geek as well.
Hey Daniel, not sure if someone already mentioned it, but you can get the pnp files from adventure of d 2nd edition from jack darwids homepage (11$) and then head over to printerstudio and make a better quality version of the game for yourself. Thanks for highlighting such little nice games!
@@TheDungeonDive I want to get myself a copy of each of those games and followed your printer studio link. I am not sure if it works for me since im from germany. But the same page exists with a ".de" instead of ".com".... maybe it works?! how did you manage to get all those images on that page? did you screenshot them out of the PDF file? because I cannot upload the whole PDF file an edit it within their homepage. Thanks, Flo
Hello. Hopefully you see this comment. I printed one out and noticed that there might be some missing pages in the file in their website. Either that, or there are some cards that just don't have a back side? For example, i have 9 back images that has the "power" on it but we have 18 power cards? Am i missing something?
Not sure. I'm not the creator, and I don't know where you got the files from, or the integrity of your document. Probably best to ask over at Board Game Geek on the games page.
Game looks very interesting. The multi-use cards remind me of a more thematic One Deck Dungeon or a more elaborate version of Mini-Rogue. (I did not like One Deck Dungeon. After digging into the game, it turned out being very math-y and not thematic. It felt like I was just counting dice pips and not exploring a dungeon.) I wonder how the creator of this game sourced their art. The Amulet of D'Eugor is actually a somewhat famous piece of art. It's from the original Alpha/Beta/Unlimited set of Magic: The Gathering. The illustrator Amy Weber is properly credited at the bottom of the card, but I hope they had permission to use it. It's not a particularly expensive card, but it's from the original set released in 1993.
I by happenstance last year came across adventure of d 2nd edition and while I’m not too fond of the art, the games card play is real clever and surprisingly challenging. This is not far off. I think I know what game is now adding to my wish list. Thank you for sharing this. Love the channel
Are there supposed to be blank cards in the printer studio set? There are currently some other cards there like colossus of Rhodes, perhaps this set has been modified?
I can't seem to find an example playthrough of this anywhere. That would really help grasp how all the inter-related mechanisms work together, at least for me.
@@TheDungeonDive , There are kinds of investment other than money. I'm not going to just print out a whole deck of cards and rules, learn, and playtest a game I already strongly suspect I won't end up enjoying. But I'd like to think that somewhere out there is a person who already has, enjoys, and is playing the game, and already makes a point of making content to educate people about such games, that might fill in the gaps for me. If such content did happen to already exist, it might change my mind. But sure, "Get it yourself and figure it out" works as well, I guess.
Are the card files in this link uploaded to printer studio by JackDGames? And are all the card info correct for each card? I see there are “edit” options for each card. I assume it is to personalize the deck, but makes me nervous that it gives me the option. The cards look great in your video. The game instruction was nicely done. Thanks
Tried following the link to the Printerstudio version, but it just brings me to the Printerstudio homepage? Anyone else having this issue or know what I might be doing wrong? Thanks!
Probably got taken down. Just have to search again to see if someone else has uploaded the files. Also try places like Arts Cow. I find stuff like this using Google.
The small number of room possibilites and the randomness of the skill cards seem like negatives. Yes, I get that the card numbers being drawn stands in for the equally-random dice roll, but the fact that the skill "suite" of the cards going into your hand is also random seems off to me. I didn't really catch how the innate skill levels on the character card which can be upgraded affect skill checks, as opposed to the hand-management mechanism, so maybe that is part of my problem. Do you add your base stat to the cards you play? Or does the base stat decide if certain actions are possible, then the power cards are how you actually go about it? This whole aspect wasn't clear to me. It seems like you have two sets of values for the same stats which are then used differently. As I said, my other hang-up is the lack of variety in rooms. A big part of the basic emersive fun of dungeon games for me lies in the exploration aspect, and I just forsee walking into the same familiar rooms over and over in this game. Besides these issues, this is clearly an impressive feat of game design and the mileage he gets out of those multi-use cards is a big part of that which a really appreciate.
After digging through the rules (the pinned links no longer work, btw), I realized you do add the Power Card value on top of your base stat. I clearly just missed that in the video. The rules call these cards when used in this way "Effort Cards," which helped me realize how the mechanism was meant to work. I think I'm fine with that aspect now, but the lack of variety in rooms is still an issue. There are 94 cards total and only 18 very specific and unique rooms are available to make up a dungeon. I won't be able to help getting bored pretty quickly, I'm afraid. This is already far from a pocket 18-card micro-game. A content expansion focused on rooms couldn't hurt. Just making it an even 100 cards instead of 94 would increase the number of rooms by 33%!
To be clear, it says click next when you are done and it takes me to a second page and so I click next again and it returns to the first so I’m in some kind of loop
We need a game that uses cards in multiple ways but at the same time artistically coherent! I imagine it will turn out to be something that looks like spiral drawing or one of those steam punk solar compass which is also a piece of Art itself!

That link doesn't work. I've tried to search for "Dungeon of D" and it comes up with nothing. Is that product still around?
@@cthutu I also have trouble finding it. Maybe the link is dead :(
Is there any way you can update the link? The one posted does not work. Thank you!
I would also love to buy this game.
The first PNP I ever printed. Brings back memories... really solid game
It’s really good.
I'm so glad to see Geek Gamers comment this great game! And thank you for the video, this is the 2nd video ever of this game.
It's also the first PNP I printed. Really good game!

Ya lo tengo impreso y sin haberlo jugado aún, ya me parece interesante y entretenido. Gracias por el video tutorial, me ayudó a alcarar algunas dudas.

Sure thing!
the artwork, like the Ankh of Mishra was lifted from Magic the Gathering
Yep. This is a fan assembly from a PoD site.
I really like the point idea here. Also, very awesome multi use cards.
I am like 99 percent sure the ankh in the thumbnail is the Ankh of Mishra from MTG, it looks exactly like it.
It is. All the art in this version was taken from other things. Pretty sure it was just put together by a fan.
Very good game! I think I'll get it. ❤

Not sure what you mean. I just added the pre-existing project to my cart and bought that. I didn't actually upload/make anything.
@@TheDungeonDive ah I see, thought you created the uploads within the printer studios homepage.

Does anyone knows the size of these cards? Which type of sleeve to buy after printing it? Thanks :)
These are from Printer Studio. Basic poker sized cards.

It’s free to print, so just give it a try.

@@TheDungeonDive ,
Okay
i did a play through on BGG. it’s kind of dated because it’s got to be at least 10 years old. but, i think it holds up fairly well.
Wish JD can explore the possibilities of this game in 2nd edition, like the way he did on AoD2...
Yes! I hope he does.

Don’t know! Maybe check BGG or google it. Links for things break. That's why I rarely post them.

IS it me or is there stolen artworks ?
This was just a file made by someone and posted to Artscow / Printerstudio. Fan made.
