      Rut Brea,
      Only YOU can, either allow them into your life, OR, SHUT off the naysayers‼️
      Like my Rabbi says, “Let the refining and IMPROVING of your own life keep you so busy that you have little time to criticize others”‼️

    Dear Rabbi Sacks I have great respect for you. I understand what you are saying. One can imagine,us the Sephardic Jews from Spain. The difficult path we are encountering among the nations. Some people don't want to believe that we want to return to our roots of Judaism. We are told that we need to convert... but no one is doing anything to help us. I heard a video person say that some of us are fakes. Don't these people believe in the Torah of Hashem,blessed is He, that says He was going to bring us from the 4 corners of the planet? I am writing these words with a lot of pain and anxiety in my heart and soul.

      See Genesis 15,1 and 15,7: robust rocksolid promises of the Lord. Do not be anxious. He protects you. Your merit will be great, means by following Him by observance of His commands and performing of the Mitzvot. Then conversion is not a hurdle but the open door to be accepted as member of the jewish people. Study the book of standard knowledge for conversion, edited by the Chief Rabanut of Israel. It can be learned within one year.

      @@bell1095 I was told by a Rabbi, about 3 years ago that it was out of the question because it was a lot of responsibility. Those words didn't bother me so much as today, today I am 72 years old and have no one. But to listen on UA-cam a Rabbi say that we are fake, has been too much to swallow. I trust in Hashem, blessed is He. I heard some one say don't mind him, but I am not young. Where do you get the bk to study how to be converted? I don't give up on Hashem,blessed is He, but I am given up on the Jewish people. They may say or think whatever they want. Hashem,blessed is He is my hope and faith.

    • @bell1095
      @bell1095 4 роки тому +3

      Rut Brea The Sfaradic Communiy in England, descendants of the expelled from Spain and Portugal 1493 is very strong, Did you try to contact them. Maybe they can provide you the study books for gijur, even in your languange. To convert consists of 2 components: 50% knowledge of judaism and its rules, and 50% being connected to a jewish community, to take part in shabat services, kashrut, etc. HaShem will bless you, and protect you,

    • @m.bernal9540
      @m.bernal9540 4 роки тому +4

      @@rutbrea8796 A basic part of the conversion process is that you must be turned away at least 3 times. Judaism doesn't proselytize like other religions. It is extremely difficult to follow and the responsibility too great, so Jews feel that within the community we have enough people having a hard time keeping up so to speak and we don't need newcomers making promises they can't keep. That being said, someone looking to convert must prove his/her intentions prior to joining. In other words, if you are sincere, you will keep knocking on the door until you bring it down and if you can't bring it down, you will climb over and if that doesn't work, you will go around the corner and find a window. Get my message? I did all of that and much more. If I had to do it all over again I would in a heartbeat. No regrets. The clue is learn find a synagogue near you, go to services borrow books, learn ask questions. No mountain is too high when you really desire to know HaShem.

    Thank you, Rabbi Sacks. This connection between faith and insecurity makes me think that the core language of rational judaism might be mapped out to the logic of Quantum Mechanics language and its Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle. It asserts that even a complete description of a physical system does not in general enable one to predict with complete certainty the result of an experiment and that is our most accurate description of Nature up to now. Faith being the courage to live with uncertainty and never stop to walk because HaShem is with us is for me the most accurate definition of Emunah. hazak u'baruch!

      C D ...Hi - with due respect, she wasn’t asking what Rabbi to follow ...she just wanted to know what was being said...which Rabbi to follow is her choice...if you want to follow Rabbi Yosef Mizrachi, that’s your choice.
      ...Shana Tova

    • @aaronfarkas6890
      @aaronfarkas6890 4 роки тому +2

      C D ... thanks for replying.
      You state: “If you follow his teachings, you infect yourself with Kfira as well.”
      Well then, it seems to me that you’ve been infected with kfira, since you watched/listened to his teaching on this video...”and we all know the consequences of that” (I’m quoting you).
      On a serious note, I’ll just say that, you know our Bet Hamikdash was destroyed because of שנאת חינם ...In a few days, Hashem will be judging us on Rosh Hashana ...let’s not judge other people, lest we be judged...
      Rashi says, מום שבך אל תאמר לחברך...which Chazal interpret to mean:
      When you or I point out the shortcomings of another Jew, whether it be “he’s a kofer” or any other עבירה, we actually have the same shortcoming...it’s just easier to project it on someone else.
      In modern terms, it’s called projection and denial (denying that we have that shortcoming as well)
      Before Kol Nidre, the Chazan prays, הנני העני ממעש, וכו׳....ונא אל תפשיעם בחטאתי וכו׳... כי חוטא ופושע אני וכו׳ ...
      ...We are all sinners in the the Glorious Court of Hashem on Rosh Hashana., and, for myself, I pray for his Mercy and Grace.
      Wishing you C D and your family a year of health, peace of mind, and much much love for other Jews...אהבת חינם, and not, שנאת חינם.

      C D ... thank you for your blessings.
      I noticed you haven’t answered any of my questions/comments other than to refer me to various seforim .
      btw - what is your definition of the ערב רב?
      Before pointing fingers at people you don’t agree with, why not look at the terrible מחלוקת historically within חרדי Yiddishkeit?
      Unfortunately, there has been many great controversies between רבנים in חרדי Yiddishkeit, beginning with קרח ועדתו.
      I could also point to many other מחלוקת between, or by, חרדי Rabbonim in our history that have led to great tragedies....
      to name just one that comes to mind is the story of קמצא/בר קמצא which led to the destruction of our Bet HaMikdosh because had the
      defended חרדי רבנים
      the embarrassed guest, the outcome would have been peace, not tragedy.
      “People who live in glass houses shouldn’t be throwing stones at others “
      אל תדין את חבריך עד שתגיע למקומו״
      Finally, to end on a positive note, may this new year bring us all a שנת גאולה וישועה...
      - כל טוב!

    I didn’t realize that Rabbi Sacks was a Chief Rabbi lol. Does anyone here believe in Yeshua or a Messiah? I personally am Christian and have witnessed miracles as in The Gospels-I believe he is The Christ. He came to serve and liberated the oppressed in Israel, while living oppressed. I am personally a disciple of Yeshua as Simon Peter, John and James, and many others. I personally am not a fundamentalist Christian as Jesus said to observe the Rabbi’s and they sit at Moses’ seat.
