This song reminds me of a time in my life where I felt the same way. It seemed that no matter what I said or did, I always managed to hurt somebody, directly or indirectly. What helped me finally get away from all of it was this song. If I hadn't heard this song...I don't want to know how I would've ended up. But this song helped me realize that you can't change the past, you can only work towards the future, and it gave me the strength to put the past behind me. But most importantly, it helped me to forgive myself for what I had done and who I had been. No longer did I walk in the dark place I had been in for so long. I was free.
Everywhere I turn, I hurt someone But there's nothing I can say to change the things I've done Of all the things I hid from you, I cannot hide the shame And I pray somehow something will come to take away the pain There's no way out of this dark place No, no future I know I can't be free But I can't see another way I can't face another day Tell me, where did I go wrong? Everyone I loved... they're all gone I'd do everything so differently, but I can't turn back the time There's no shelter from the storm inside of me, ohh There's no way out of this dark place No, no future I know I can't be free But I can't see another way Oh, I can't face another day I can't believe the words I hear It's like an answer to a prayer And when I look around, I see This place, this time, this friend of mine I know it's hard, but you found somehow To look into your heart and to forgive me now You've given me the strength to see just where my journey ends You've given me the strength to carry on, ohh I see the path from this dark place I see my future And you're forgiveness has set me free Oh, and I can see another way I can face another day (I see the path) I can see the path (I see my future) I see the path from this dark path I see my future [x2]
I could be wrong but shouldn't the line "No, no future" be "No hope, no future"? That is at least what I heard. Not very clearly but perhaps that is because he Brittished a bit in there. lol
My heart cries listening to this song every time, especially at 1:57 onward. Also, this song makes me think of Jason Raize (who voiced Denahi in this film & originated Simba in the Lion King on Broadway). Can't believe it's been 14 years already since his sudden passing!
That amazing moment where you realize this would fit beautifully with the scene in Maleficent when Maleficent betrays Aurora and she in turn says "No don't touch me! Your the evil that's in the world!"
This is almost the 'cheer-ier" version of the song played during the 'confession' scene, I have both on my iPod because the dialect is so important and strong to the movie I couldn't NOT have both
I'm so happy I've finally listened to this song. I'm solo flying, flying high in the sky. i love everybody. i love you brother bear. thank you £brotherbearrules
It reminds me of my life. I wish I could fix the bad things that happened and put them right. The bit where it went "everywhere I turn I hurt someone" got me. That was such a great example of me. There are somethings that I say or do that hurt ppl even if it isn't intentional.
I didn't really cry with movies when I was a kid cos I wasn't listening very well. But now that I'm older and I watch old disney movies. Certain scenes like this one really pull and my Heartstrings I can't help but cry.
Brother bear is always been mine and my mums favourite film. Even though I just watched it on my own and crying my eyes out to this song and scene of it in the movie 😥 so emotional but I love it
I know how this felt the one thing I couldn’t escape or set free are princesses They’ve been mocking me for years and not one single media focuses on a heroes of men I once to rely on.
Because Disney was founded on satanist values and that includes traumatizing children, so what the worst thing a kid could imagine? Yup. Walt Disney was a satanist and they are definitely following in his footsteps
Here’s a challenge for everyone: Think of someone you’ve wronged in the past but has forgiven you (preferably someone who doesn’t know this song), and send these lyrics, phrase-by-phrase, to them and see how they react
Kenai still wanted revenge on the bear for what had happened to his oldest brother, and he got it. But instead of bringing him satisfaction it brought him misery beyond his wildest dreams.
2022 losses everyone close to me my dad dies my grandma and my grandfather my mother makes me feel like I'm better of dead yet somehow this song makes me feel I still have hope left to keep going . On my way to the highest peaks of my higher self
I'm sorry but they shouldn't have gotten phil collins for this or the tarzan soundtrack. It just didn't work well. I'm saying this as someone who grew up with both movies. Not that it's bad in a vacuum. But it would've been far better off with a more original score
The part with this song was the most heart-wrenching part of the whole movie.
This song gets me every time....and the scene gets me even more
"Koda...your mother's not coming."
“No! No!” 😭
that was more cruel than Mufasa dying :( because we love Koda and Kenai

I love this song, and im glad it helped you let the the past be the past.
+TheZeldaBigMacintosh you made this song even better
Isn't the power of Disney songs amazing? They helped me find my inner confidence and finally be me.
What did you do? If it's too much to say, you don't have to.
Everywhere I turn, I hurt someone
But there's nothing I can say to change the things I've done
Of all the things I hid from you, I cannot hide the shame
And I pray somehow something will come to take away the pain
There's no way out of this dark place
No, no future

There's no shelter from the storm inside of me, ohh
There's no way out of this dark place
No, no future
I know I can't be free
But I can't see another way
Oh, I can't face another day
I can't believe the words I hear
It's like an answer to a prayer
And when I look around, I see
This place, this time, this friend of mine
I know it's hard, but you found somehow
To look into your heart and to forgive me now
You've given me the strength to see just where my journey ends
You've given me the strength to carry on, ohh
I see the path from this dark place
I see my future
And you're forgiveness has set me free
Oh, and I can see another way
I can face another day
(I see the path)
I can see the path
(I see my future)
I see the path from this dark path
I see my future

Very touching, very emotional.
There are normal people, who hear this song and smile.
Then there's me who flops onto the desk and starts blubbering. Loudly. In a library.
Whhhhhooa-Hoo-Hoo?

Just right in the heart......
J'adore Phil Collins !
This will forever be one of the greatest movies ever made.
I agree, some people were saying this film was dreadful, I disagree with them.
That amazing moment where you realize this would fit beautifully with the scene in Maleficent when Maleficent betrays Aurora and she in turn says "No don't touch me! Your the evil that's in the world!"
I love this song , and every time time it makes me cry :(
I like this song I sing a for friend serena song
i was almost nine when the movie came out & this scene always made me cry my eyes out :'(
same
I was 14 and I cried in the cinema.
is the soul purpose of this song to make you want to bury yourself in a hole while screaming "THERES NO WAY OUT"
No. The purpose is to realize what position you are in, and find the one thing that can get you out of that "dark place".
Cooler?
No way out has to be one of my faves. I love it soo much.
This is almost the 'cheer-ier" version of the song played during the 'confession' scene, I have both on my iPod because the dialect is so important and strong to the movie I couldn't NOT have both
This song literally makes me ball my eyes out 😭 reminds me of my niece and how I’d never do anything to hurt her
Phil Collins put his heart and soul into this song! You can feel it in his passion.
I cry every time this song comes on in the movie
Is it just me, or does this song perfectly fit Zuko's journey?
I feel like this right now. I'm waiting for the light.
Hold on
Kenai kills a bear. Bear cub can't find his mother. How did I not figure this out?

Simba - Uncle killed Dad
Koda - Friend killed Mom
