Mihrimah and Rustem's daughter is kidnapped. Rustem goes crazy when he learns that it was Nigar who kidnapped his daughter. Hurrem treatens Shah Sultan. Shah Sultan is worried about Nigar. Şehzade Süleyman, en yakın adamı Pargalı İbrahim ile birlikte çıktığı bir avda alır kötü haberi. Babası Yavuz Sultan Selim Han vefat etmiştir. Şehzade Süleyman hiç beklemeden, İstanbul’a doğru yola çıkar. Şehzade Süleyman hızla payitahta ulaşır. Hiç beklemeden cülus törenine katılır. Bir günde hayatı değişmiş. Sultan Süleyman olarak padişahlık hayatına başlamıştır.
Bu sırada, Karadeniz üzerinden içi köle yüklü bir kadırga, İstanbul’a doğru gelmektedir. Kölelerden en ateşli olanı ise, kaderini değiştirecek olan yolculuğa çıktığının henüz farkında değildir. Geri dönmek için çaresiz bir şekilde isyan etmektedir.
Sultan Süleyman, padişahlığının ilk gününde verdiği buyruklarla nasıl bir padişah olduğunu göstermek ister. Ama bu kararlar herkesin hoşuna gitmeyecektir. Sultan Süleyman ise gönderdiği mesajlarla, tüm Avrupa’ya meydan okumaktan çekinmez.
Alex, tüm isyankarlığına rağmen, Topkapı sarayına getirilir. Onun bu tavrı ilk andan itibaren Valide Sultan’ın dikkatini çeker. Ama Alex’in sarayın kurallarını öğrenmesi uzun sürmez. Kendisine büyük bir hedef seçer. Alex, Sultan Süleyman’ın karşısına çıktığı ilk gecede onun ilgisini çekmeyi başarır. Sultan Süleyman’ın eşi Mahidevran ise Manisa sarayından yeni gelmiş. Eşi ile görüşmeyi sabırsızlıkla beklemektedir.

While I can easily understand Mahidevran advocating for her son (I'd be shocked if she didn't!), she single handedly smashed her own argument apart by deciding to make accusations against Hurrem. Her emotions get the better of her, turning a concerned, rational argument into one that sounds petty and finger pointing.
Yet I kinda like this as a writing move, since it's a strong contrast of the otherwise calmer and more collected S03 Mahidevran. When she gets put in the same tense environment once again, her old reactions get back to her as odds seem to be against her and she reaches her desperation point. It's like she tries everything to turn things around (with this scene being the last straw) and nothing works.. so then she becomes more and more impulse driven and has no choice but to act herself, this was a decent enough transition to the next step of her character arc.
I agree. Mahidevran handled herself quite well and made a good speech. Then… she completely ruined everything.
@@plams4488 while i can try to understand where you're coming from, she is never portrayed in a "calm" and "collected" manner. If anything, she is more "calm" and assertive in Manisa🤷♀️ if in any point she was "impulse" driven it was definitely in the capital. She often acted on feelings there. The older mahidevran in manisa was more calm and sensible, and trying to use her logic to be a step ahead, to secure mustafas succession to the throne.
Mahi emphatically states that the Sultan is not in charge of the empirical decisions, but Hurrem is. If I were him, I'd have slapped her face for that insult.
Mustafa did many mistakes when Hurrem or Rustem were not behind them. Everybody told him that He Will be a new ruler but sometimes He forgot Suleiman had to make decision about the throne.

AGAIN. Hurrem and Rustem did nothing in these cases. Mustafa did it because he wanted. Of course They told what he did but these are his own mistakes.

He really gave mustafa like many many chances.. He married mehrunissa, who father held quite a power.. And hid his marriage.. How come hurrem is responsible for all this.. I dont understand.. Did she hypnotize mustafa to do all this??
Mustafa once came with the army to topkapi palace which every one thought it was a rebel.. He did so many Mistakes.. Infact in history he was also tranferred away from amasya to more far place..
Mustafa is a very kind and loving brother. And he is right. "If you don't change your life, life will change you". Very wise and true. Unfortunately Mihrimah didn't listen carefully enough. It seems that life has already changed her.
Mustafa needed that advice more than Mhirimah. Life indeed changed him
Mahidevran’s beauty helped her to have the first Sehzade. And her empty head prevented all the other things.
In real life this wasnt an exile. Manisa was a more safe place for a prince,especially for someone that should get experience. Thats why Mehmet was send there. Amasya on the other hand was really important because it was near borders of the sea and near Safavid Empire.
Yes. Suleiman appointed to Amasya so Mustafa gained many experienced from different provinces.
Considering the prince that was the closest to the capital would be crowned, as the Ottomans had no succession laws, it wasn't much of a promotion
Mahidevran never knew when to quit, she always went too far and was too emotional whenever she tried advocating for Mustafa. She obviously lacked the intelligence to know she shouldn't confront Suleiman about any of his decisions, but then to start losing it and blaming Hurrem? As if Suleiman wasn't the Sultan and not making all the decisions! What a total idiot! She should have instead encouraged Mustafa to take his new assignment and make the best of it. Mustafa needed to prove he could be responsible and obey his father, and expand his experience as a shezade that might some day become the sultan Not sure why he thought Manisa was a permanent assignment. Even Suleiman was moved around a lot as a shezade. There was no reason for all the whining from Mustafa and Mahidevran.
Mahi stating to Suleyman that Hurrem is in charge of the empire only proved to Sultan that Mustafa was under the influence of a foolish, disrespectful woman. Mahi is very pretty on the outside, but inside, she's petty, jealous, selfish, and worst of all, wants the empire served up to her without question. In America, we say "she's all bark and no bite" which means she's not fit for purpose.
Mustafa is my favourite prince though I hate his mother. I just love his loyalty to his siblings and how much he loves them.

And Mahi was always around with "get ready to become a Sultan" and it poisoned his mind as well. Also, she cried so much in front of him its crazy. Hurrem tried to be strong in front of her kids, Mahi used Mustafa as a pillow to cry on

The problem with Mahidevran, is she does not know how to get around Sulieman. She challenges and argues.. insolently answers back , and tries to order him around.! She puts his back up with just her voice!

I love the way they all act so innocent. Mahidevran has imprisoned, beaten, poisoned, stolen from and maligned Hurrem for years. Hatice has drugged Hurrem ,til she thought she was going mad, plotted to replace her with Firuze, I sulted and humiliated Hurrem. And now they are calling themselves victims.!! Good plot line!

I love how delightfully unhinged Mahidevran is from start to finish. Then the others get infected and they share the delusion that she controls Suleyman. The difference is that Hurrem almost always directly asks him for what she wants. Everyone else tries sly 💩 and blame Hurrem for their stupidity
How many times can a parent listen to excuses before they figure out that they're not excuses, they're lies.
I know hurrem, mirhi, and rustem were the ones who provided the gun, but Mahi was the one who provided the ammunition and motive, when looked at Mustafa he didn't see his son, but his mother's (mahi) ambitions and plotting (even though he never did any of that).
Twice they tried to place Mustafa on the throne when suleiman was at death's door or missing, Mahi and Mustafa never showed his legal wife (Hurrem) proper respect, which by extension meant lack of respect towards him as Sultan.
I know Mustafa was always nasty to Hurrem while her sons was always nice to mahi

True or not Mehmet would always have put time in at Manisa because Suleiman planned him to be his heir. Mahidevran hurt herself and Mustafa more by appealing to him to change his decision than if she'd just accepted it.
