I was in Pella about a month before you! The gentleman at the beginning of your video gave me pretty much the same orientation he gave you, lol. My children have ancestors who were among the original Dutch settlers and I really enjoyed visiting the town. Your video brought back great memories.

Translated....It's nice to see a piece of Dutch history in America. I had to smile every now and then at the pronunciations of the surnames, yes I know it's difficult for English speakers.

Well what's holding you back. Just go there and enjoy!! I've been there 3 times and I just enjoyed it all. And yes I'm Dutch. And yes I live in The Netherlands. It's just a great little town to visit. Don't expect it to be as The Netherlands as it is like today. Just look at it like The Netherlands used to be many years back. But in an American "package" :) . En ga naar Jaarsma's bakkerij en koop zo'n S letter. Het smaakt niet helemaal zoals hier ( is toch andere amandelspijs ) maar het komt aardig dichtbij :)

A family owned/operated dairy farm featuring the best ice cream around. They have a small shop that carries goods from Iowa producers. Good Stuff!

these people where kicked out of holland but they never talk about that. think about it holland kicked these people out of the country. there is a mural at the local post office that depicts the issue. let's not talk about this.

Used to live in a small town near Pellla. Enjoyed going to their Tullip Festivals. A fun town.
