I love just listening to you talk as you go down the road (these are my favorite fyi)... so many nuggets of information that might not come up otherwise. I adore swimming myself...wow-I should be doing more of that. Yeah. GOOD one on the google of 'attractions'-why DIDN'T I think of that?-lol. See what I mean? ;-) Yah.. Thank you Grandma!
Wholey Watermelon Batman! I didn’t think anything of you cutting a watermelon in the park but I guess, I supposed today we do have to think about it. Wow, Nowadays were having to consider how we would enjoy a watermelon. 😏 It looked delicious!
I’m leaving soon, and my journey will resemble yours quite a bit, minus the interviews. I’m way too shy to approach a stranger. Best wishes! I wouldn’t worry about that knife; nice to keep by your bed at night, too!
Good Saturday morning 🌄! "Community Pools": what a WONDERFUL IDEA! Ty for sharing information about your day. Have blessed and safe travels 🙏. LUCRETIA
In case anyone's concerned, it's perfectly legal and ok to have a knife at the park as long as you're cooking. Most parks have grills and picnic tables for barbequing. People have knives at the park cutting fruit and meat all the time. No one will think twice about someone cutting a watermelon or cutting meat while they're preparing food. And I'm saying this as someone who meal preps at parks once or twice a week. I've done it for years and never once at a problem.
People use knives all the time while picnicking in a park. I’d be more worried about a gun in a park these days. Wall Drug is in South Dakota - Badlands area. So much fun - Safe travels!
Wall Drugs is SOO overrated. I’ve been as a child, as a young mother, and as a grandmother. Last time, 2018, the food was horrible and it really is a cheap souvenir shop, IMO.
@@rebelm1133 I DONT keep going back! I had no choice as a child, went through there with own children touring Badlands, Yellowstone, etc. so it was on the way. Traveled with grown children and their kids on a remake of that same trip of their childhood. So 3 times, only one of my choice. Way to be PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE, btw.
I love your way of traveling without having to worry about reservations. But I am in a Roadtrek 170 van. Many people mistake it for a regular van since it’s no longer than that, but I hesitate to park at hotels and apartment buildings. I have thought about parking at car dealerships or repair shops after they close. Do you know anyone with a Roadtrek who does urban boondocking?
I used to own an older roadtrek and loved that van. I think you just have to get a feel for what you think is going to work for you parking your van. Every area will be a little different so trust your instincts. I mostly parked on side streets where there was a fence on the side of a house in what seemed like family friendly neighborhoods when I had my roadtrek. I didn't really know too much about boondocking back then. Best of luck to you. Safe travels.
One place I can get wifi is at the libraries, some have real strong singnals and some not so much. Good local i fo too. When i go on the road, i get small packages of all the contiments, even peanut butter, salsa, catsup etc from amazon or if I pass an restraunt supply. Needs no refrigeration and individual servings. Nice video, thank you for sharing.
@@lethalampkin8035 I’ve never had to use a password. Usually the library wifi will come up when you are nearby. I’ve just connected to library name. Lowes and home depot and other stores will also have wifi. I have used Lowes wifi sitting in their lot.
I love your easy-going attitude about traveling from town to town and chatting with the locals. No doubt you have been directed to some interesting spots along the way. I am a geocacher, and will sometimes plan to "cache my way" to a destination; I discover some of the coolest historical, interesting places that way. The community pool idea for a shower is a good one!
My husband did a little bit of geocaching when it first became popular, but like so many things, it's fallen by the waistside and all but forgotten now. Good for you for keeping a great I guess you could call it sport alive.
There are apps that indicate places with Wi-Fi I can’t think of a name of one at the moment but there are apps that do that. And it’s been a while but I do remember they were free.
Girl, please wear sunscreen. The different in your face and when I first started your videos is very noticeable. You are outdoors a lot. and sun damage ages you, causes permanent discoloration, and can cause skin cancer. (I used to work for a Dermatologist.) I wear sunscreen, wide-brimmed hats, long sleeve tops and, often, long pants. P.S. I love your videos!
Most communities have hotels. However sometimes it is difficult to find hotels in small towns with enough cars in the parking lots to be able to blend in well. My plan B in those instances is to look for apartment and condo guest parking spaces. As a last resort I'll hop on the nearest interstate and to look for a travel center truck stop to stay at. My searching for a place to stay usually starts around 3pm. Once I find a place I go exploring in that area until nightfall.
I have a few destinations that I travel towards to eventually get to but honestly I suck at planning an itinerary. I never really know where I'll be from one day to the next.
No it is perfect for me. I love it because I can park it overnight very easily in a hotel parking lot to where it just blends in with other travelers cars in the lot.
Wall Drug is quite historical amid its craziness! I LOVE your traveling philosophy!
thanks.

It was. Yes, carrying a knife through a public lark is not a smart idea nowadays.

Blessings from Alaska Travel Grandma! I'm loving your journey and tips :)
A lot of coffee shops have wifi. Also Meijers and Walmart. But my favorite is the library. 😊 I really enjoy your channel.
Thanks.
Most public libraries have wifi...you can sit in the parking lot or go inside and cool off if it's hot.

Wall Drug is in Wall South Dakota. Ya it’s a nice lil rest stop to meander around before or after the BadLands.
Thanks for clarifying that.
Ohhh your welcome it just excites me that who l follow actually go through or mention a place etc in my state 👍❤️

Try the Roadtrippers app for attractions and accommodations. Campendium is another great app for free to pay camping.

I can never find small jars of salsa! it frustrates me! I do try to look for more natural kinds.

Peanut butter requires refrigeration, absolutely, if it goes rancid we get sick.
Do you ever feel like the van is to small

Do you rest well in your van?
Yes I do. The ottoman is like sleeping on a sofa.
Libraries.
Panera Bread has wifi
Good to know.
you are hardly crazy. That was a Troll.
