I don't even quite blame the gen xers for that. We're kinda in the same boat. They told us the same "lies" their parents told them, because it looked like all the advice and hard work might actually pay off. They thought they were setting us up for success. "Here's all the wisdom we learned, plus internet. Go forth and succeed!!!" Then, y'know, life happened. Wars, conflict, stock market crashes and recession, inflation, pandemic, housing market chaos, everything went to shit fast. The thing is, it's not In our Gen X friends' nature to lie on the ground and beg for forgiveness. These are hardened folk. It's not that they don't feel sympathy for us, it's just they're so used to accepting pain and burying it that they don't need forgiveness or affirmations. There are no sides, no us or them, we're all in the same boat eating the same shit sandwich. We just wanna make it better
As a Zillenial (that weird ‘94-97, sometimes ‘92-‘00, gap), I can’t relate more to the “which generation am I in?” Bc I definitely grew up with dial up internet and Buzzfeed quizzes but, I also use Gen Z slang frequently in casual speech and and part my hair in the middle. Not really fitting in with either side but I definitely feel like a mediator between the two generations sometimes.
Yup I am '94 from the USA. Having our formative years in the 2000s was definitely a transitionary time from millennials to gen Z. We were the first group of kids to have to navigate school with social media. UA-cam, MySpace, then Facebook, then Instagram, SnapChat, Vine, etc. All those things started to take off from when I was in middleschool and highschool, so I can relate heavily with Gen Z when it comes to Social media and viral trends. We literally experienced the first internet viral dance videos, "Crank that -Soulja boy" lol, now Gen Z has viral tik tok dances. Also Zillenial can be as low as 92' and as high as 2002' from what I have seen
I'm in '92 but I just like what I like and yeah. Gen Z humour is just weird and I don't get it at all, but I also feel like a lot of millennial memes use stale as fuck humour. In the end I don't like anyone and just go rogue. I part my hair in the middle but I kinda just like some of the new fashions and I like trying them out. I don't feel too old for them yet and I figure I'll try new fashions until I hit some point where it starts looking awful. Like if I am 45 probably it would be a bit weird to wear super trendy clothes idk.
It’s the ‘93-98’ gap. Anyone in that age range is likely to feel strangely out of place in both generations. Its a very strange thing, but I’m honestly kind of glad to be that way and not ever be confused by either millennial things or gen z things.

I did a project my freshman year on generational studies. I love looking up things about different generations and what major events made them who they are. In my personal opinion, Gen Z is looked at as this super unstable and most likely depressed generation because of growing up with social media. We can't escape the world's problems. We're addicted to stress now, even though it's completely destroying our mental state. 9/11 happening when the older part of us was super young, school shootings becoming more prevalent, wars between political parties, being in school during Virus times, etc. I could go on but that would just make me sad so I won't. The younger Millenials (mid 90's onwards) like myself also grew up with social media. We're also the ones that saw the world get better, and then get worse again. :/
That's probably mostly applicable to American Gen Z, here they don't behave much different, they're still seen as chaotic and kind of romanticizing depression.. But Gen Z is really young, they're in school/studying. Those are the most uncertain times in any generation's life. As a Millennial I can say we weren't seen as chaotic but most definitely as depressed, we can't forget how our generation basically made romanticizing mental illness a hobby on Tumblr, Gen Z does the same now but it's on TikTok. The absolute most tangible difference I have noticed (and what we talk about in our friend group that is a mix of millennials and Gen Z) is how Millennials were seen as being 'snowflakes' and rocking the boat, but Gen Z is actually more actively progressive and accepting and far more informed on social issues and discrimination because they have a generation above them that was able to kickstart that awareness. But that level of empathy has kind of gone beyond that of most millennials now, Gen Z genuinely don't seem to care as much about adjusting to different social situations, they'll express their opinions freely. Millennials are constantly anxious about sharing their opinions and very concerned with when it's 'appropriate' to do so. Essentially the biggest gap between the generations is not because of social media (we're all just as involved in social media) but it's to do with social rules (culture) and the outside influences on our psychology (different disorders being more prevalent in millennials or Gen Z). Plenty of differences to dive into and really lay out but it'd be ignorant to assume millennials aren't affected by all of these global events, we witnessed 911 live on TV as a kid, we were forced away from jobs and our in-person social life during the pandemic, we are just as stressed about political uproar. We've lived in a time where fascist ideology wasn't as common or at least still very actively being pushed back because our grandparents lived under Nazi Germany's occupation and were able to tell us about it. But all the last few people that lived through it consciously are dying in this decade and so there is no one left to push back against the dangers of fascism anymore. The effect is that Gen Z has been accustomed to fascist ideology being actively openly discussed whereas millennials actually lived through a time where fascism was HIGHLY controversial and fascist ideologies weren't even considered something to be openly debated. But for now, as an older millenial I'd say "The kids are alright."
I'm a millennial too (born in 1993) and I guess I still do some things millennials do but I think I move pretty readily with the times. I've picked up a lot of how my younger cousins talk and the phrases they use. And I definitely like to keep my sense of style updated.
these are sooo funny. I am solidly millenial and due to being a stay at home mom have pretty much zero interaction with gen z individuals in my day to day life (other than the girl who occasionally babysits for me but just when she arrives and leave) and i find this both funny and informative lol
I am in fact a Gen Z but I feel like I'm 60 years old sometimes because some of the stuff that both Gen Z and even Millennials say I have no idea what they are trying to say, and the fact that some people don't even know how to give your change back is horrible! I also got to say is it just me or did I get taught the easier way to add or the "millennial" way, I have never seen that other way like what in the world?! 🤣😂 Anyways glad to see that you guys are back we all missed you, I can't wait for more Content from you guys and I hope that you both are doing well and staying safe and healthy!

My place of work is mostly mid-late 20s millenials with a few older millennials and gen zs. We just text or snapchat lol (email, if it's something more "formal" like requesting days off). At my old job (whole foods), you had to go through the phone, get directed to the front end, and call out. Here, they at least expect you to find a replacement if you can, but you can just text.

I'm a millennial too (born in 1993) and I guess I still do some things millennials do but I think I move pretty readily with the times. I've picked up a lot of how my younger cousins talk and the phrases they use. And I definitely like to keep my sense of style updated.
love the haircut!
omgg yumi’s haircut looks so pretty on her !!
I miss you guys😭
holy crap, I was wondering why I hadn't seen you and here you are! LOOOOVE you!!!!!
Its been forever! Glad to see you guys again. 😌
these are sooo funny. I am solidly millenial and due to being a stay at home mom have pretty much zero interaction with gen z individuals in my day to day life (other than the girl who occasionally babysits for me but just when she arrives and leave) and i find this both funny and informative lol
omg YAY i missed y'all so much
I love you guys so much
Can't wait for you to be back!!
Hope you are well💖💖💞💞💖💞💖
Omg i thought you gave up on the channel so happy to see you two again
gorls! y’all need to make a reaction to a “my ancestors” tiktok compilation
Literally love you guys
I'm so glad y'all are uploading once more, your guy's vids are always funny #genz
Anyways glad to see that you guys are back we all missed you, I can't wait for more Content from you guys and I hope that you both are doing well and staying safe and healthy!
I'm also gen z (born in 2001) and I'd never seen that way of adding either, lol. idk what they were doing xD
@@catgirl21 Exactly, what in the world?! 😆
Gen X over here just 👀👀👀👁👄👁
Yep.
Miss your videos!
The weird text (2 atw 10 mv) means 2 run through's of the all to well 10 minute version song by Taylor Swift.
Omg new video. I missed you girls ❤😂
Your 624,000 subscribers are hoping everything is alright and would love to get an update on you all.
Ive been wondering if they are alright since they haven’t posted in 5 months
I was born in 1998 and related to both oh god (the "too formal" for work and yet talking like the gen zs in the last tiktok)
I was just thinking about you both today! Sending you love 💗 thank you for the video
I've missed you two! I hope to see more content soon
Hey it’s been a while
Glad to see your back that bein said you should be the first ones to react to ali Wong
When you're gen z and you grew up on Harry Potter, Disney, cringy memes and buzzfeed quizzes 🗿
Maybe you're an older gen z like me?
@@honeymelonade Idk, I'm not that old, I was born 2003
When I was hiking in Korea I saw an old man with bags of bottled water he had just filled with fresh spring water.
And then I did it and gave it to friends because I thought it was amazing.
Missed you two love you both
Welcome welcome back 🥺💜
I'm in the in between 1997 i relate to both this is the problem we all have
Gen X here ... man, I'm feeling so old right about now.
I missed your content so much😭please try to post more
I'm a bit of a millennial that uses "gen z" lingo/slang. '93 baby here.
Did these two make their own UA-cam channel? I went searching for this channel just to see the last episode was 1 year ago
I will always remember this girl in high school, teacher would ask for 3-4 page report on X subject and she would come back with 2 binders, one for the report the other for the appendix..
Nice to see you again!
I missed you guys so much!!
I lost it at the, "I'd like to unsubscribe from oxygen." XD
Related to that TikTok person -- I have no idea what Gen Z are saying 90% of the time. XD
I totally missed that joke because I was thinking about the channel Oxygen, founded by Oprah. 😅😂
as an older genz, i have never heard these things come out of genz mouths lol
honestly just the generalization of a generation that’s oldest is 25 and youngest is 10 will never make sense to me
@@KrisFlicks I think that's the issue actually! And things changed so quickly especially after 2010 or so that us older lot got left behind.
I am a baby boomer so I just overlook all of that .
TikTok is Mid, Twitch is POGGERS, says this Boomer.
Noice!
Well, imagine how us boomers feel. I didn't know what was being said some of the time.
even though im a gen z 02 baby but i used to drink from the water hos until they said its not healthy but i still do it from time to time lol
I miss you guys! 😢
Syd & Olivia are hilarious. 😆☺ nice to see them in the thumbnail!
Ok but for the math problem one, my brain has always worked like 93+97, break down into (93+7 & 97-7) = (100 +90 i order to work with round numbers) = 190 and every time I try to explain the way my brain does math people are like "???" but now schools are trying to teach kids to do math that way & it's so weeeeeird
some gen z in my country are still more conservative than me, so don't think that they are all advanced :(
Been awhile since I've seen a video from y'all. Just wanted to say I miss your videos and I hope y'all are doing well.
Yay! They’re back!
So relateable definitely a millennial and I wouldn't want it any other way 😂
4:37 I need that Gen Z top like, yesterday
