In this Episode of Troopy Travels I undertake a SOLO trip to explore the Gouritz river from the Sea to its Source. I take our trusty Landcruiser 78 Troopy and go on an adventure trying to cross the river as many times as possible.

What a fantastic campsite you found there mate. Magic! 😉
It really is a lovely spot.
Thank you for showing this part of our country, looking forward to more adventures. I agree, very frustrating coming upon locked gates.
Thanks Rory. Sometimes a good thing to pick a random task like following a river. Next episode still needs to be edited, but there is some great more remote places I will go. Struggling to make it just one episode🙈.
Beautiful and one of my favorite fishing destinations, locked gate is a bummer but the other side of the fence is accessed from the other side, its called Gourikwa Nature Reserve. On your arrival at the main gate there is a number to call and they will open the gate to give you access. Enjoy guys.
Good tip for me and other viewers. Thank you 🙏
Great video Tim. Excited to see part 2. And no. Allow people to drive through coastlines responsibly. Whomever makes it private - that should be banned.
Thanks for the comment. It was one of my biggest frustrations. “People” blocking access to the coast line, when on the other hand I drove through multiple farms opening and closing gates enjoying the countryside. Crazy.
@@troopyinafrica our coastline is already limited with roads let alone access. We should be allowed to get approval through council to get to certain areas
Everything below high water mark should be accessible
My thoughts 🤷♀🤙. Thanks for watching.
Looking forward to the next one
Thanks guys 🙏
Hi the reason for those fences on the coast is because its a nature reserve both at Gouritz and Kannon . I dont think we have to compare us to Australia
Thanks for watching. I raised it not to compare, but to point out that the coast shore line region is public. Making a vast stretches of shore line private seems odd to me.
@@troopyinafricaGood day .. we here in Australia don’t see such fences because it’s commonwealth land and no part of coastline are private. It’s for the people of the commonwealth to simply enjoy ! Reserve or not it’s open to the public .. yes there are conditions for certain areas of beach fronts here .
@@troopyinafrica Also food for thought… if indeed these fenced off areas were so called nature reserves then why are there no signs to identify this to be so , probably best to confirm with your local authorities to clarify if they are indeed restricted reserves or just rich yappies making claim to what is not theirs !
@@rhodesia1578 Thanks Dude. It is what I was thinking was the case. This section and others like it I have a sense still come from our Apartheid past.🤷🏻♂
@@troopyinafrica indeed the self righteous ones who live in the past . Your maps would indicate if these areas were indeed “ Nature Reserves “ but local councils would know the facts ! But glad you raised a valid point to your audience ! 👏👏
Hoe kan ek net jou in verbinding tree nav jou kritiek oor die kuspad wat toegemaak is?
