The Road to 500: Final Target at 500m

Last target in The Road to 500 series, set at 500m.
The rifle is a CZ 457 Long Range Precision (LRP) 22LR, set in a MDT ACC Premier chassis, topped with a Vortex Venom 5-25x56 FFP scope, mounted on a ColdShot Minute of Angle Base, and supported by a Accu-Tac SR5 G2 bipod.
The ammunition being used is SK Long Range Match, with a muzzle velocity of 1073 FPS, giving a flight time of approx 1.5 seconds to the target at 500m.
The target is 500x500mm, and on the day there was a bit of a challenging crosswind blowing from left to right. The wind hold was 16-20 MOA left (or 2.4-3m left from the target centre), but still happy with the results which show that it can be done.

I shoot that distance with a .22 pistol and every time I hit the barn. 😁 Just talking crap.
Some say that distance is comparable with a .308 at 1,000 meter or something like that. Or is it less? Or more? I don't know.
Next time try CCI Velocitor. Mark of Mark&Sam After Work channel has some success with it. I never tried to shoot that far. Max for me up to now is 200 meter, that is the open range I have.

Dear friend, I enjoyed watching this series of videos. Can I just give you one suggestion? Is there a possibility to repeat all that in one morning or afternoon, but an ideal day, without wind? I'm sure the results at 300+ would be much, much better. Look what I managed to do with a PCP air rifle with only 37 FPE and 25 gr slugs. But the evening was PERFECT. Wind - zero! Hi @ledeni012, glad you enjoyed it. I will definitely redo the series, or at least the 300m plus targets, but it won't be until the new year, as the range I use closes next week. In your video, what scope camera were you using ?

@@markfussell9313 This is a simple sideshot system with a phone, but my recommendation is a sideshot with gopro camera or even better something like a triggercam. This is quite cumbersome, and the quality of the video depends a lot on the quality of the phone's camera.
