Enjoyed the matchup. SCHD has really grown its dividends since 2017.
I own COWZ as part of the HERD ETF, and I also own SCHD. Rather than pick one, I'll instead add DGRO.

SCHD is my largest holding. But I own some shares of Blackrock so I technically get some benefit from DGRO succeeding as well. I love my dividends, yes I do.

Nice battle, Ron. And welcome to Frank. I have a little SCHD and will add more when I take my RMD in January. I've been a long time holder of VYM and I have VIG, but I found large enough differences in SCHD to add them in. Dividends is not my main focus, but I like value stocks.

COWZ never heard of that one before,,sounds right up my alley im gonna have to dig a little deeper on that one and see if it fits into my portfolio thanks for the great tip..

Great video. Going to add COWZ to my dividend portion of my portfolio.
I gave up on buying individual companies and divided my holding's between SCHD, SCHG, VTI in my Roth, BRKB in my taxable account and FXAIX in my works 401k. If I'm lucky to live long enough I hope Ill be able to retire comfortably in 25- 30 years and collect from my works pension if it never implodes over time. I hope things work out.

I think you could do a battle between LEAD, TDIV, and RDVY. They are lesser known dividend ETFs, but have performed well. I also think you could do a battle between DGRW and SCHD and a battle between LEAD and COWS.

Another interesting battle could be between TDIV and TDV since they are both technology related dividend ETFs.
Strange three-way “dividend ETF” comparison when COWZ is included. Should have been DGRW instead, which has outperformed both SCHD and DGRO over the past 5 and 10 years. However, based on buying the dip, SCHD has had a poor year and is likely most attractive right now.
K: As you know, we curate the ETF Battle suggestions...but we don't control the actual tickers in each contest because they come from viewers like you. I see you're a linear thinker because DGRW is definitely more comparable to the others in this particular ETF triple header. But our show also accommodates non-linear ETF matchups which sometimes triggers the analysis of Yorkshire Terriers vs. Great Danes. The non-linear matchups are probably a more realistic backdrop of the investor's options in a chaotic world of different investment choices that don't necessarily align. COWZ is too concentrated in energy for me.
The letters on the chart were a little wild card. A’s & F’s. At first I thought these were letter grades until I realized the F stood for Frank, and the A stood for Athan!😱😂💥
How is cowz going to do if energy sector drops. I'd like some future considerations

Using Portfolio Visualizer and backtesting from 2017 with dividends reinvested puts COWZ at the top with DGRO and SCHD in essentially a dead heat. Despite that it's just not all that definitive. COWZ lagged significantly amongst the 3 from mid 2019 through early 2021 and just recently outperforms. I had SCHD up until my July rebalancing. Just didn't like the 12 month sub par NAV performance. I also didn't like the fact that the top ten holdings represent 40% of the SCHD investment. Just a little too top heavy weighting for me.

What the risk for SCHD if Schwab goes bankrupt?
@philip5899 - zero risk. The money / stocks are held by a 3rd party just for something like a company going bankruptcy.

I like the mid cap exposure of COWZ, but it's going to take a nose dive when energy prices fall. SCHD outperforms hands down on 10 yr growth.
