I have to disagree with you on this one. After years of the same characters redone over and over it’s nice to have something new and that is fun to play with. I’ve reconfigured this guy more times in 2 days than I have transformed any transformer I’ve bought in the last 2 years
I totally get that bro, and I agree
but sadly these "modular" new figures are just not for me... maybe I'll see them differently once hasbro figures a way to put them in the cartoons or movies... or perhaps maybe put out a new Transformers Legacy cartoon... it's just difficult for me to invest emotionally in a figure or character if I don't see them on a show or movie... when I was a kid, I wanted to buy every single toy of the each of the characters I saw during Saturday morning cartoons... nowadays... I still feel like buying all of them... but after buying them, I end up selling them off eventually, thinking: what was I thinking?! I don't need these! LOL that's what happened with my MOTU and Ghostbusters collections... ended up purging them LOL
Same with me. I play with the Junkions and weaponizers more than standard transformers.
Great review Chefatron!!! Trashmaster is really impressive, especially considering he is only the second garbage truck alt mode Transformers figure. :D Keep on being amazing.

Nice review sir, wanna ask about the grey panel that hold his shoulder with main body, does it tap nice and securely to the body, or is it constantly flip it out when ever ur moving the shoulder around? ps : sry for bad english 😅

To each their own. I normally dont buy anything but G1 characters, but the creativity and style behind these figs is super impressive, and they are hella fun

I like all the new Junkions.
I dunno, they all seem like they fit in with the 86 Junkions just fine.
If anything, Wreck-Gar and Junkheap seem like they're not busy enough.
As for Trashmaster himself, the only thing I feel he's really missing is the "spoons" on the lifter arms.
And I'm pretty sure the alt mode should be bigger.
But that's true for pretty much every truck in the WFC & Legacy lines.

actually that's what I like about the design of those 2... designs were a lot simple during the 80s... (the time I grew up as a kid)--hence the strong nostalgia for those kinds of designs LOL

Those modular Junkions fit the junkyard theme perfectly; their multiple combinations among themselves seem ingenious to me. However, I would have preferred them not to have such a cheap toy-like appearance.

Dear Chef, the quality of your reviews has indeed matured over time!
While new characters are always a welcome sight in the often 'recycled' 😉 realm of Transformers, for the Legacy line that pays homage to previous universes, these rubbish-themed lot are grossly displaced! (I myself have opted to overlook them completely.) If at all, the only reuse of any of them (so far) that is in tandem with the rationale of this toy Trilogy series is Towline (homaging the Car Robot/RID 2001-2 line).
Really appreciate the '2-Tier' Rating system you affected in this video overview of this toy; as well as the side-by-side comparison with Legacy Bulkhead (who I too thought was reworked into Trashmaster here). The latter (further retooled) would definitely make a great 'Beast Hunters' tribute of Bulkhead, either from the TFP/Takara Adventure Cyberverse Commander Class or Mainline Deluxe Class (or a hybrid of both) as well as a TF-TMNT crossover merging the turtle-esque features from TF Prime with the beatle van from TMNT!

yeah, I know right?! thanks goodness someone else sees it! I mean I'm all for new characters and figures, but somehow, without a cartoon or movie to back up their story... I find it difficult to emotionally invest in them... when we buy transformers or any other action figure for that matter, we're not just buying a toy or play thing or display piece... we are buying a character, a childhood hero, a piece of our childhood back, that's why we get so invested in a figure.... there must be an emotional connection, otherwise we'll have figures like this for a week (in my case, a couple of days LOL) then sell them off or give them away....

yeah, i actually thought as well that this was a bulkhead retool... but yeah, BH bulkhead would fit this mold... although I would still like a more accurate TFP bulkhead in the future... and maybe even an accurate TFA Legacy bulkhead for that matter....

I think they are Nancy & Wreck Gar's Punk kids.
They have their uses, they fit on the Voyager Bikes rather nicely for example.
My main concern is that keep remoulding them into Decepticons but they may never make a full team.
Also this is just to short & the lack of a front container looks weird. perhaps someone can make him some leg extenders.
I like him but he's way to expensive so he's in the "wait for a sale" camp.

yeah, I feel it's just hasbro cash grabbing and milking the crap out of their molds... it's like ok we're doing this figure but what other cartoon characters can we make out of this mold? and they just pump out ideas without considering making the other characters on the show and push the idea that all these characters and figures from other shows will "fit" together on your shelf because they have been Legacy-ized in terms of their look and feel... smh...
yeah, I agree man, and I'm sure the designers and those Pulse event execs will just chalk this up to "lack of budget" sheesh... they're charging an arm and a leg and a kidney for their products especially out here in Asia and they still "lack budget". total 🐄💩 if you ask me...

I love his design as a character/robot, but as a toy it does nothing for me with all that busyness. Like I feel as if it's just too much for a figure that size.

Cool figure but that kibble on the back with the wheels that’s removable is pretty stupid. Partformer with kibble that obnoxious is mind blowing to me.

I'm kinda tired of re-buying new versions of the same characters I've already bought multiple times. Also tired of more retools of molds from as far back Siege. Nakakapagod. These Junkions are the bright spot of Legacy for me.
