Turned Hup from being a Don Quixote character to something even more real. Your heart breaks for the podling who is filled with a nagging doubt that all is courage and loyalty is for naught and that is nothing more than a failure. Never has a podling felt more human.
Hup has more courage, valor, bravery, and heart in his spoon sword alone than most characters do in their whole entire bodies; he isn't just some Podling and Deet's protector, when she began her journey, he became the very first friend she ever made in Thra, he helped save her from the Spitter, he guided her in the right direction towards Ha'ar, he defended and stood up for her against other Gelfling in Stone-in-the-Wood, fears for her life and cares about her wellbeing, confesses his fears and admits that he doubts himself, and he shielded her from the Hunter Skeksis and took his attack for her...if that isn't a real and true friend and hero, then I don't know what is.
Hup is inspirational, he dared to dream big and do whatever he could to help his friends. He's also very relatable, having moments of doubt. But with a little encouragement, he's back up and ready to try again!
A very nice tribute to our brave spoon-wielding Podling ! He brought so much heart and humor to the series, and his friendship with Deet is just too pure.
When he dropped the spoon I won't lie, I got a bit teary 😥 But Hup and Deet made the series for me. Also the Heretic and wonderer.. And of course Chamberlain 😍
@@aboyandhisdog2251 Yeah, there were several emotional scenes throughout the series and that one with Hup was particularly heartbreaking. Thankfully, with Deet's encouragement, the tears didn't last for long. :) Those two were my favorite part of the new show as well, though the Heretic and the Wanderer are definitely another duo (if we can call them that) that I found quite interesting. And that blasted Chamberlain, as cunning as ever. He was perfect ! XD It was great having him back, and Aughra too ! They're such memorable characters from the movie.
@@StarlitSwamp they really are. I watched the movie again and realised how little time we had with every one. So it's really great to see the likes of chamberlain really going to work. And the emperor was on his death bed, so seeing him as he was, and also hints as to why he became such a state in the movie is brilliant

One of my gripes (kind of a minor gripe) I have with this show is how they sidelined Hup during the last three episodes of season 1. But I'm certain he'll be back in action next season.

True. Its such a shame season 2 got cancelled. To be fair it did look like too expensive show for Netflix, like Sense8. so we should have seen it coming, still sad though.
He really is. It's a tragedy Netflix cancelled dark crystal. I don't trust Netflix to ever finish shows now. It's happened too often. Why use a service with unfinished stories. Who buys a book with the last chapters missing? Netflix is pointless.

I've got a little box I can plug into my playstation that records directly to usb. I then played the episode on Netflix and recorded the scenes I wanted. It's not perfect, imthe audio can be put sometimes so I have to redo it sometimes. I forget the name of the box. If I find out I'll update my reply 😉

It's one single piece of music from the dark crystal ost. To lessen it here would make it too quiet for the first part (I edit on a ps4 where you can't fiddle up and down with music mid track - it's very basic system), I tried it several ways this was the best. Most fans know exactly what he is saying and is fine with it. It only took couple of hours to make so I'm not too fussed either way. Surprised so many like it so I am absolutely fine and there is no need to say sorry 😁😉 but thank you anyway 😁
