I will be visiting Cape Cod ironically this week. Bourdain's shows were my favorite, loved his books, loved his personality. It feels like a relative died. Will pay homage to him at the Lobster Pot next week. RIP Anthony.
Leveraged how was ur trip? I have went there but really just stopped and took a pic and left, and yes i feel like i lost a friend :( I guess theres comfort in knowing that millions out there feel the same
You have to read Bourdain's Kitchen Confidential. He devotes quite a bit of pages to his time at Provincetown and the rest of the book is eminently readable.
In 1971 I was a short-order cook at the Wharf Luncheonette. I had a room for $25/ week in a little house across the street from the Boat Slip. I never ran into Anthony, but I get a little chuckle from knowing he was sleeping at Spiritu's Pizza while I was living in style! RIP, Traveler
Anthony would have been there a little later. Trying to remember from his book Kitchen Confidential, he was there mid to late 70's. Around 76 or 77, I think. But a nice link all the same.
I worked at the lobster pot as a young man and it has to this day made such an impression in my life and I'm forever grateful for Joy that scared the hell out of me and Tim the chef that was more than willing to teach me and Sean that absolutely wanted the most out of me as a server. I love everything about this restaurant and how they accomadated me and made me the person that I am today.
I live in Japan now, but this made me so homesick for Massachusetts. Something Anthony Bourdain might not have told us explicitly is how good food and travel are for you as a person. I've grown so much in two different stints teaching in South Korea and Japan, and my palate has greatly expanded to all kinds of things. I don't eat like a kid anymore because of my travels to Asia.
I been there at The Lobster Pot when I was with my dad in Provincetown, MA revisiting my Native Massachusetts. There is nothing like the cold tail lobsters from there and taking that great pride of New England/North East Cuisine.
I love how they cut Sean out how it was made. He did this with every dish as he served it and trained me how to do it properly. I thank him every time I make a tip for every customer that tips me above and beyond
I love how Sean McNulty was describing to Anthony Bourdain how the soup was prepared. That's who he is and that's what made him great. He made me a great server and a great cook because of that. I miss the lobster pot.
The Lobster Pot's kale soup needs more kale.... otherwise, it's great. If you want the best kale soup anywhere outside of Portugal, head to New Bedford. Anthony Bourdain???? Oh, how he is missed! So heartbreaking to this day really. Great clip!
everyone in the comments section was apparantly chefs in the 80's who worked hard and partied even harder The video I watched before this was about the ocean and in that comments section apparently everyone was a marine biologist
Didn't realize it was the Lobster Pot he was talking about in his book. It's almost like the awesomeness of Commercial Street was built up around that place, but what do I know? I wasn't born yet, the time he was talking about.
Yes, that really hit me hard. I'm disappointed. And because he's still considered a culinary god, the mispronunciation is probably being perpetuated that much more.....
He didn't love it enough to not take his own life unfortunately!!! Why did y'all just put this out...oh yeah, trying to pull those heart strings again like normal :/ just plain disgusting!!!
Matthew Hylton Horse manure. Who among us grew tired of Bourdain's insatiable interest in food and people? Answer: Perhaps only you, though WHY are you here?
I worked in cape cod as a sous chef in the 80s. The partying after work was off the charts
I have heard so many stories about it thanks to kitchen confidential and all honesty I would love to hear more though
Well now we got legal cannabis so it’s even better

Wonder if that dishwasher knows he changed the world by not clocking in that day

It still hurts. :(
Thanks for being the first one to say it. Means a lot.

I'm currently reading Kitchen Confidential and the way he speaks about his time in Ptown is with so much love and admiration

the cape is amazing
It’s so cool to have a celebrity visit where you live
The Lobster Pot is awesome restaurant and right next door to my favorite bar in PTown, The Old Colony Tap !!!!!!
I love how they cut Sean out how it was made. He did this with every dish as he served it and trained me how to do it properly. I thank him every time I make a tip for every customer that tips me above and beyond
Loved this place when we visited. One of highlights of our trip!
Miss you Tony.

We sure miss him dearly 😍😍😍
As his favourite food was from your home country
My favorite was Cataplana. They will still make it even though it’s not on the menu anymore. I am lucky to live about 50 minutes away
I loved
Starting at 1:20... i feel like they were describing heaven
Te AMO ANTHONY....
Miss the guy damn near every day
everyone in the comments section was apparantly chefs in the 80's who worked hard and partied even harder
The video I watched before this was about the ocean and in that comments section apparently everyone was a marine biologist
I remember when I was a marine biologist by day and chef by night in the 80's. The partying was off the charts.
I'm not a marine biologist, but I said I was to impress a girl once.
I ended up saving the life of a beached whale whose blowhole was obstructed.
The sea was angry that day, my friends.
@@Soxruleyanksdrool,
Like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli.
@@fuferito I got about fifty feet out and suddenly, the great beast appeared before me.
I miss you man...
Rest in peace Anthony
RIP. S Korea miss you.
That guy with him at The Lobster Pot, is I think, the guy who runs Spiritus Pizza.
Yes, that's John Yingling.
I think John personally served me over a hundred slices of pizza back in the day.
rip. tony

I'm sure this place is great, but if you want Portuguese food go to New Bedford, not the Cape.
Yggdrasil
It’s true.....
Believe me... it’s true
Best Cape Cod restaurant is The Red Pheasant in Dennis. Check it out.
fuzzyone99: any good places in Hyannis?
Can't remember. But it's only 9 miles/~20 minutes away by car. Well worth the drive if you ask me.
fuzzyone99 , have to say Montano's in Truro
Meg J Persy's for breakfast, order their fish cakes!
@@megj7376 Pop on over to Yarmouth - Keltic Kitchen for breakfast and Captain Parkers Pub for dinner.

Wait so all the Portuguese people in MA don’t live in Fall River??? 😂😂
The orchid was the most inedible waste of space on that plate
Watching him devour that soup at 3 am is not a very smart move on my part
All these clips end awkwardly
It is not Caldo Verde but Sopa da Pedra. Trust me i am portuguese
Pó caralho Tiago
Why did he commit suicide it doesnt make sense.
Caldo verde is not from Azores ...
And it has nothing to do with that mess in the dish ...
Ol
but never learned to say scallop correctly
Yes, that really hit me hard. I'm disappointed. And because he's still considered a culinary god, the mispronunciation is probably being perpetuated that much more.....
Also mangled chourico. It is not chourizo.
And this guy offed himself???? ... c'mon ...lol 😆

Um, what? This was uploaded in 2014.
Wait, what???
