  • the TODOs if u want to get rid of the oilpump. 1) easy way & 2) total removal.
    1) is enough, the pump stays in the casing, but take care that with a px125 20mm oilpump a 24mm carb slide might not open 100%,
    2) if u want to get rid of everything, not really needed, more for the optic ;)

As I understand it, the big drawback to removing the oil pump is the fact that when you let off the throttle with premix lubrication only, your cylinder gets very little to no lubrication and can seize as a result. With the oil pump whenever the driveshaft is rotating, some oil is being injected. More when the throttle is open due to the tilted top of the cog.

there is wrong info out there that you have to remove the oilpump at every tuned engine 😉 of course it works as good as you service. it, not serviced it might fail. of course, but thats the same fot everything.

You´re right. And a video about how to service the oil pump would be very helpful. Just an idea.

Do I need to put the oil pump cover back on if I have closed the hole, it will save having to cut throttle link.
