  • Wireless video transmission systems have finally become accessible to consumers and prosumers. The Hollyland Mars 400 is very decently priced, and performs quite promisingly!

So easy to both understand and to hear, even with my lousy hearing, Sound quality wrecks so many youtube vids' but this was superb :)

Hi Folks. Good news! At 5GHz this thing is working in the high WiFi (hiwifi!) band and hence is licence free in many countries. I'd go for the 's' version for future proofing - HDMI can have a bit of video lag (caused by the content protection capability) which is why the pro's use SDI - it does n't have lag. I expect that competition will eventually bring SDI down the market segment and it will become more affordable - as you can see here. Great review. BobUK.

Is SDI really faster in latency? Heard otherwise and HDMI latency is too much to use it for focus pulling etc...

Awesome review! It hit every point. Can you clarify how to have 4 wireless displays? Can I use two transmitters with two receivers for each? Or do 2 displays have to be plugged in by cable to one receiver?
Also, do you know of any other companies making these for the prosumer market, for comparison?

Can you test for difference in latency between HDMI and SDI?

It seems that they are not yet selling this version. All I can see is the 400s version

Where can I find these? It seems like B & H only sells the 400s version :(

I'm interested in the loopout signal, does that have any latency?

The size wouldn't even alllow for high quality SDI, because there is only space for 1 or 2 connectors.
