This is my favorite channel. It relaxes me.
That “One to Grow One” psa is amazing. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting that in an 80s psa. I never understood why kids (and adults but kids especially) have to be overtly affectionate to other people if they’re not comfortable. Teach boundaries early and respect personal space.
I came down to comment specifically on that "One to Grow On." There has been a lot of modern social media commentary on that sort of thing but there was some emphasis on that in the 1980s, along with awareness about abuse and the like. The claims of the decade being a worry-free time when are often exaggerated.
How happy it makes me to have one of my faves, Soleil Moon Frye (Punky Brewster) featured on this milestone block. Onward to the next 1,000!
This was from the Baltimore Maryland station WMAR. I used to watch that station as a kid. Some of those news anchors still work at that station.
“One To Grow On”- I love the abundance of these PSAs in this volume. Not only are they well put together in both the scenarios that are being acted out and the parts where the celebrities deliver the overall morals, but I like how you can tell that the celebrities really believe in these morals and likely apply them to real life, in their deliveries. These PSAs are something that both kids and adults could really benefit from, especially in this day and age.
P.S. Congratulations on your 1000 volume of 80’s commercials. Keep up the great work. ❤️
Congrats on 1000 episodes of vault!
7:52 - Okay, this ad works on me even today. I will take them all!
Oh shit! The double feature! Congrats on 1000 volumes of awesome nostalgia perfection
43:18... Hot damn there will never be another Transformers like the 1st generation was. Classic!
One To Grow On a)-also with Bumper Robinson as the kid whose video game Roger kept under the bed
G.I. JOE Mirage and Cobra Flight Pod-Cobra went through a lot of those "Trubble Bubbles" in the cartoon
One To Grow On b)-hated being lost as a kid myself back then 😞
Kool Aid-also forgot the pool water
One To Grow On c)-Bumper seems to be getting in a lot of trouble at school
Exercise Day at the Baltimore Zoo-plot twist:Brooks Robinson is the elephant
Super Golden Crisp-one bite can turn you into..Bruce Springsteen?😆
Emergency Broadcast System Test-"..if this had been a actual emergency.."
These are all prime nostalgia for me. I was 11 in 1985 and I watched all these cartoons and had a lot of those toys.
Just awesome. As always, thank you so much!
You can’t go wrong ending the 1000 episode with transformers. Congratulations on 1000. Been eating since 2011. Can’t believe you made it to 1000. That’s awesome. Keep it up and let’s go for 2000.
So weird, in a good way, to see 4 digits! Been watching since the summer of 2010, when I binged the first maybe 175 or so 80s installments Thank you for your continued archiving! This channel is always my go-to comfort place.
Congratulations on 1,000 Volumes my fellow youtuber!
Thank you for this great content !
Something tells me The Secret of the Sword was a quick theatrical release after the Care Bears Movie became a surprise hit earlier that year, even making more money than Disney’s animated release that year, The Black Cauldron.
Congratulations with this milestone! We know and understand how much time and effort this costs. Digging through thousnads of tapes ourselves. From another country, but same work. Piles of tapes, cleaning heads, digitizing hours of footage. Thank you for the sharing and keep up all the good work!
1,000th 80's Commercials Video!
Congratulations 🎊 👏🏻 🥳
"This tree...died of a heart attack." That anti-vandalism ad is interesting. Do trees die because of people carving on them?
If a tree has enough of its bark removed by vandalism it can die.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
WMAR doing the One To Grow On segments during their syndicated programming that's something new! But yeah I'm also digging weather man Dwight Piscopo and Wheelock Winspear? What an EPIC news name!!!!! But at least they don't cut their Transformers closing credits out like WPIX did earlier!
Thank you for 1000 videos of awesome 80s stuff! It's a big deal and I love seeing stuff like this twice a week and even more at certain times of the year! Be it from Baltimore, New York, or wherever!
Congratulations on making it to Vol. 1000, hope this channel makes it to Vol. 2000.
A belated Congratulations! I'm not sure when I started watching your channel but anyway it's at least been 5 years. Thanks for showcasing the good, the bad, and cheesy of these old ads.
Thank you so much for the 1000th upload parts 1 and 2! Wow. We finally made it to this magic number. I have been with you all day one in '08. I cheered when you hit number 500 with parts 1 and 2. Looking forward to you all hitting number 2000! Hopefully in less than 2 years 😂😊
I appreciate your support, but it's mathematically impossible for me to post 1000 volumes of 80's commercials in 2 years given my biweekly posting schedule. Please keep your expectations in check.
@80sCommercialVault I completely understand. Congratulations on reaching this huge milestone! I am looking forward to more volumes in the future
Man, I miss Keebler Tato Skins, they were good. Thankfully, TGI Friday's makes Potato Skins chips today which are pretty similar.
Congratulations on making up to Vol. 1,000 of Classic 80s Commercials! They're totally radical!
Again, congrats on 1000 videos Mike. Your channel has helped me though some rough patches in my life. I followed your channel back in 2016.
Congratulations on 1,000 videos of wonderful, feel-good nostalgic memories! Your videos and witty remarks of some of the ads in your collection vault never cease to put a smile on our faces! Here's to you, my friend!
I can't tell you how much I love this channel! its easily one of my top 5. I often have it playing while I'm correcting school work (elementary teacher here) So many of these commercials remind me of my child hood and I love bringing that energy to my classroom (as well as some old school vibes) congrats on 1000 and can't wait for the next 1000!
finally caught up on this episode! some more great ads for sure. definitely don't remember when the last EBS test was, I wonder do they still do its replacement the EAS? I haven't kept up with regular TV in years so I kinda wonder if any of that's still a thing?
6:05 - I have always thought West Side Story should have been performed by mimes…Wait, no I didn’t, because I am sane.
Congrats on 1,000! Onward to 2,000! Quick question, for if anyone knows: For the last part of the video, do they still incorporate the Emergency Broadcast System on TV? I haven't had cable since 2010 and I barely remember it at that point in time.
They used it in 2020 when quarantine/lockdown orders went out! It was really freaky to hear it go off for real.
#10 - what... the... I thought these were introduced in the LATE 80s! WHY DIDN'T I KNOW OF THESE EARLIER?!?! x.x
I believe they may not have been launched nationwide when these aired and this may have been a test market. This is the earliest ad I've posted for them, and it's a different edit than the one that aired later around '86 or '87.
Congratulations on 1000! 🎉
CONGRATULATIONS!
Is the voice at the end of the SnuggleBumms commercial Nancy Cartwright?
It certainly could be, she was already doing voices for cartoons when this aired.
Congratulations to you @80sCommercialVault for 1k videos! Amazing content!
1,000! Woot! x
