“Mickey” is a deserved hit with its iconic and innovative music video but “Over My Head” deffo deserved better! At least it reached Top 5 on the US Dance Chart and its video clip got a Best Choreography nod from MTV VMA.
Afortunada... De pertenecer a esta época.. aún conservó este acetato y lo pongo a todo volumen UTA y bailo como en mis mejores años. Gracias por existir década de los 80s. Lo MEJOR.♥️
You better look out 'Cause suspicious eyes are watching Don't let them see us holding hands I know that you and I Should not be seen here talking I kinda like the razor's edge I always go for danger I like to walk a tightrope I do my show without a net It never fails. I dive Into the deepest ocean Not knowing if I'll sink or swim Oh, oh Over my head Oh, oh Oh, oh Over my head Oh, oh We're always meeting in the dark It's hard to see you I'll feel my way I'll take a chance Risking exposure Every time I come to meet you I'm begging lady luck again Oh, oh Over my head Oh, oh Oh, oh Over my head Oh, oh I've got a feeling This time I can't take it You'll play the game In a place for real Although I'm falling So fast already I'm deeper than I should be I'm over my head Oh, oh Over my head Oh, oh Oh, oh Over my head Oh, oh
que buen tema musical yo tenía 13 años de edad cuando salio en la emisoras radiales de mi país ECUADOR.. Toni Basil es lo máximo en esta música... yo ya con 44 años la sigo escuchando y bailando en la melodías de mi discoteca.
Loved Word of Mouth and the album this came from..what a total injustice that this song was not a big hit ..could have have least charted within the Top 40 ..
Interestingly, both in 1983, "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" by Eurythmics, possibly caught the attention of Toni Basil. Similar vocals, soundtrack, and even lyrics. 'Diving into ocean' featured in both. Music theory: Toni Basil found success with one of the biggest hit songs of the British artist and songwriter, Annie Lennox. However, "Over My Head" is not 'close enough' to be a cover or parody. This is what could be called 'piece of the music pie.' However, "Mickey" being Basil's biggest hit, perhaps idealized from "Goodbye to You" by Scandal in 1982, being similar enough to become, in a way, a 'spin-off' hit. Patty Smyth, Toni Basil, and Annie Lennox have beautiful vocals and could perform as well if swapped with the other artist.
Que buen tema ❤❤❤❤vivan los 80

You better look out
'Cause suspicious eyes are watching
Don't let them see us holding hands
I know that you and I
Should not be seen here talking
I kinda like the razor's edge
I always go for danger
I like to walk a tightrope
I do my show without a net
It never fails. I dive
Into the deepest ocean
Not knowing if I'll sink or swim
Oh, oh
Over my head
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Over my head
Oh, oh
We're always meeting in the dark
It's hard to see you
I'll feel my way
I'll take a chance
Risking exposure
Every time I come to meet you
I'm begging lady luck again
Oh, oh
Over my head
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Over my head
Oh, oh
I've got a feeling
This time I can't take it
You'll play the game
In a place for real
Although I'm falling
So fast already
I'm deeper than I should be
I'm over my head
Oh, oh
Over my head
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Over my head
Oh, oh

Actually it was Ritchie zito...who was a guitarist composer/Producer and arranger who was a part of Giorgio Moroder's stable during those years
