It was. We were spontaneous! We didn’t care so much about what we looked like, I mean we did but it wasn’t as obsessive as today. Today everyone is totally preoccupied w every detail of the face, look at all these plastic surgeons making vids critiquing celebrities but what they’re really doing is planting seeds in us! Ppl don’t even realize it. Anyway in the 80’s there was no internet so all the music shows were wild!! Singer Ms are more guarded today on tv. It’s sad. Everyone was more innocent in the 80’s, carefree. Mysterious too bc we had no internet so we just didn’t worry or care. We just wanted to meet up w friends and hang out and go to clubs. I feel so bad for the kids born after 2000.

"For Tonight" was embraced by all those in the Freestyle community and played on NY's Hot 103.5 back in the day, which was fueled by Freestyle music.

@koe1 yes sir. Deborah hRry and blondie really started it all with Rapture. There's always a little but of funk in great disco and dance. Kinky Fox was a live bar band around the time from NY who would play at a small club here on Montreal and met my first girlfriend who looked just like Deborah and a bit like Nancy marinez too! Oh boy!
That's what we called it back then in NYC. At some point it came to be known as freestyle or Latin freestyle, even though some were not Latino.
The moral fibre was still correct
