My friend, Fr. Bill Weston, and his wife had 2 Bassett Hounds, mother and daughter. When the mother had puppies and was tired of feeding them-or wanted to wean the little ones-she'd jump onto a lounge chair to get away from them. My Gypsy Rose Lee used to climb into her dog bed on the steps in our den when she wanted to get away from her little ones too. Our Little Bo Peep, a BC, had 6 pups and came over to my house to stay. The doggloo was in the yard and she was minding her "kids" outside one day when 2 of them started squabbling in the doggloo and growling pulled one out by his leg with her mouth. She might've meant business, but I saw no harmful teethmarks on her son's leg. Their father,JackBNimble, was more gentle and put up with more than she or his mother Tess did.

She’s more tolerant than my dog was lol. My dog tried ditching her puppies every chance she got. She once stepped on one that was a newborn and it yelped. All she did was look back then carry on her way.

The ball of yarn (or whatever it was) gave me anxiety. I once put a crocheted afghan in our dog’s cage and he chewed on it. When he started refusing to eat I took him to the vet. They suggested exploratory surgery because he had seen dogs chew on yarn and it blocked their intestines and could actually get wrapped around and squeeze them off. So $1200 later😮 I was relieved to know she was going to recover.
