It's always nice to see new history channels being established, especially channels that discuss the Byzantines. It's high time they receive the acknowledgement and popularity that they deserve within contemporary historical discourse.
I first learned of the Byzantines when I played Total War Medieval II when I was about 9 or so, and I’ve slowly become more fascinated with their long and often tragic history. Thanks so much for checking my channel out!

Cool vid. One suggestion though, those maps are kind of hard to read, I would suggest filling in the entire nation instead of just drawing the borders.

I would argue against the thing you said that there were no more competent emperor after Constantine. Justinian, I would argue, was as and maybe even more capable than Constantine. He reconquered most of the West and made Constantinople an even greater city with a greater cathedral (Haiga Sophia). He saw the empire through it's most challenging days (the plague) without experiencing internal conflict. And talking about internal conflict he successfully supressed one of the largest revolt in Byzantine history. While granted most of these successes were by his subjects and his wife, but it goes to show how capable of person he is to know just the right person to call upon anything, and not be stabbed in the back like most other leaders who relies on others. If nothing else Justinian was an effectively ruler, and while his empire eventually fell to the Turks, he would be immortalized in Verona and stand there with men and women we call The Great
I would say justinian possessed the only talent a ruler truly needs. He always appointed the right person
in fairness to the 1054 schism was bases on rather or not if art and statues of saints in a church was idol worship or not. which in of its self a question of heresy of the highest degree. The Greeks viewed them as idols (this makes since when you realize that statues of gods were really big deal in the east) while the Latin world they did not ( were the population was more use to smaller less ornate churches, and saw the art as the work of god). the schism was started by art, but got a whole lot worse do to the Latin crusades killing more Greek christens the Islam solders ever single time.

The West may have fell but the East would survive for another 1000 years. But calling the "Eastern Roman Empire" the Byzantine Empire just because the west fell is like watering down history.
