@@Lobaniumyeah you’re of course one those fans those games you that want to lay it all in Justin’s lap as though the organization put him position to prosper . Year one he’s thrown in behind a trash offensive line no real weapons to speak of barely made out alive.
Year two new management steps it all the way down to spare parts trash offensive line trash defense no number 1 receiver in sight .
Yeah there starts out horrible because this revamped offensive line doesn’t have but one starter player consistently threw the first 8 weeks
the defense is atrocious one they all time worst in league history it was giving 30ppg for almost 20 games . Field is it hurt he comes back to healthy offensive line they acquire Sweat they’ve won 3 off the last five worth a better defense and consistent line play but all y’all wanna say is is Fields firstly it’s his fault this team has been ran like sh*t for decades and is learning in the fly how to construct a winner around a QB something they’ve only done once and at the same time develope a QB something that only done once in 40’s and 50’
they fields had yet to have an experienced offensive coordinator or head coach but he’s the problem 😂😂😂. Caleb Williams is definitely not the answer .

I appreciate this scouting report. It is balanced and stays away from the “Pat Mahomes” comparisons. I think you’re spot on with the Russel Wilson comp for his throws on the run. I am a Bears fan and think we should keep JF for another year. None of the QB prospects wow me in this draft. This kid has the potential to be good but I question whether he can be great. To me fields and caleb are very similar caleb is more of a natural arm talent and fields a more natural runner. But fields isn't to far off on arm talent. You have mahomes level then every other qb in the nfl. caleb is with mahomes but can he function in structure. Same question fields had. As a bears fan I rather keep fields since he's just starting to learn how to throw in structure. Caleb could but chicago is too impatient with young qbs I fear his confidence will be his demise here

  • @Paul-fe4vl
    @Paul-fe4vl 5 місяців тому +19

Good analysis. But you didn't talk about his tendency to run with the ball in one hand and away from his body. People have complained about JF and fumbles. But Williams has had a ton of fumbles because of the way he carries the ball when trying to rush. I think he would be worse than Fields on that count. He's had some good games against a below 25 college team, but not so good in a game against a top 25 college team. In the NFL he will have trouble unless he can figure out and correct some of his weaknesses. I'll stick with Fields at this point. He has 3 years of experience and with the right OC he can be great. Getsy has to be replaced with a good offensive play caller and coach!!

@@badlt5897 So has Caleb. He was opposite the 5th worst defense in the NCAA and they were giving up 35 points a game. Now I don't know about you, but I personally think a 5 TD handicap to the other team might have an affect on how the QB plays, yeah?
But here's the difference. Williams still produced his ass off under those circumstance and won a bunch of those games.
Fields has seen more garbage time in the NFL than Oscar and he still can't pad his stats when defense are playing in fluffy prevent. In fact, he gets worse. Even the most incompetent passers on awful teams can put up 300+ in a blowout.
If it weren't for Justin's legs no one would even consider this insanity, because he's not a good passer.

It sucks for the Bears because if they move on from Fields and take Williams and he busts it sets the franchise back a few more years. If they dont take him and he becomes a star somewhere else while Fields continues to struggle Bear fans could riot. Its just a bad situation for Chicago. I think the safest play is to trade down for multiple picks and try to take Nabers and Latu which would give the Bears defense an absolutely devastating Dline while giving Fields another weapon to throw to because lets face it you have DJ Moore and nothing else. Even Kmet at TE is a just above average player.

If they draft Caleb i think the fact he likes to play off script will influence who wants to coach him. Also he’s got new generation tone (I’ve seen the reports about him) and is giving Lebron/ gaudy WR / NBA superstar vibes - confident in his worth and likely wants heavy influence if he balls out - Bears ready for that kind of energy that will permeate everything, if he wins? Looks like he could be feeling himself real hard and I wonder where management and ownership will be with that vibe…I can’t telll how team oriented he is and what coach out there currently is ok with his flow which doesn’t seem traditional NFL style....🤷🏾‍♂️

Honestly if you're a Washington fan, not taking the underneath routes and struggling against the blitz sounds a lot like how Sam Howell played this season. As a Washington fan, I'm more inclined to support rebuilding the offensive line and give Howell another year to see what he can do with an actual line and and off season to work out the kinks. Then get a later round QB and a lower tier veteran free agent QB to push him. There are too many holes on the roster and trading down to me would be the route to go.

Yes this season more than any other, Williams was not checking the ball down or going to his underneath routes…but if you look at his film from season prior, he did a much better job of that. This years usc team was bad and he was out there playing hero ball as he knew they needed to put up 40-50 points in order to even be in a game. That’s something that he needs to learn not to do and just take what the defense gives him most times. But he’s vastly more talented than Sam.

Plus he never plays under center.
So yeah all his scrambling looks incredible but yeah, Johnny Manziel did alot of that too in college.
Are there any realistic comparisons to be made with Calebs success in college and like Johnny's?

Even if Fields struggles you can take next year’s generational QB bc you know the media is going to anoint someone after the draft in April. If the main reason people want to move on is the contract, just imagine how much Caleb will want before his rookie deal ends given he already making money from the college game. I don’t think anyone would debate that Bryce wasn’t a smarter prospect or that Levis didn’t have a stronger arm. I might’ve undervalued strouds arm strength a bit, and his playmaking was inconsistent in his college tape. But Ohio States offence also made it tough to evaluate stroud as it was a lot of 1-read throws to elite WRs.
Fast forward to this past season and Stroud got put into a situation that helped him succeed. Two receivers in the top 10 in separation, great OC, solid line play. If you chalk up his success this past season to just being a way better prospect than the other QBs, that would just be untrue. But yes he’s a great qb nonetheless

Trade that pick and and build around Justin! We need a second receiver, an edge and a center. Build up the trenches in the draft, have these young cheap contracts over the next five years and make this TEAM a juggernaut

Thank you. All his shit is off script. Plus he is a Lincoln Riley product Ala Baker M.
He is only 6'1 like Rex Grossman. I take the 6 picks you get for trading the number 1 and call it a day.
Minimum you get 2024, 2025, 2026 1sts....2024 2nd and a 3rd and 4th most likely in the trade. This guy skipped out on the UCLA post game press conference. Take the picks and the character Fields has displayed.
Qbs get better when you teach and let them be themselves. Let them make mistakes.

Caleb Williams is not a QB worth gambing your future over he too small to be a generational talent I think justin is the real generational talent here and will exployed with a good offense and team around him. I think the NFL don't want fields to be great or succeed they allow the dirty hits on him terrible refs bias it has to be racial and chicago cheap the media want him gone cause they scared of what he will become. Dual threat talent like fields black QB similar to lamar.

Keep Fields and get a HAUL for #1 pick. Draft MHJ and some linemen on both sides of the ball and you’re a competent coach and owner away from a Super Bowl baybeee

I’m sorry but you saying Williams doesn’t have an elite arm is actually insane. That’s literally his biggest strength and the day he’s drafted he’ll easily have a top 5 arm in the NFL. Horrible evaluation.
