Lovely reaction. Lyyra is the newest ensemble in the Voces8 family, and has only been around about a year. Voces8 is the main ensemble of the Voces8 Foundation, an is UK based. Lyyra is a US based upper voice ensemble. The other full time ensemble of the foundation is Apollo5, a 5 voice mixed ensemble. There are also the Voces8 Scholars, which is a part of the training portion of the foundation. The Voces8 Foundation is all about education and promoting singing. When they are on tour, they ensembles will often do master classes with local schools. Great organization. BTW, Blake Morgan, the arranger, is the tall bearded member of Voces8.
Blake Morgan (the tall tenor with the longer hair and the beard), is truly a brilliant arranger. He also did the ringmasters arrangment (I think). The most amazing thing about his arrangments is utilizing the stregnths of the guest groups and folding in the Voces8 ensmeble around that. The VOCES8 group's biggest strength isn't just the amazing talent of the individual singers, but also the true otherworldly blend that they get, turning a group of voices into a single entity (like a symphony).
The voices are amazing as always, yes, but we should also be talking about the next-level reharms of the arrangement (which was done by the tall tenor with the beard, Blake Morgan)
