cant help tear evertime i see this scene. one of the saddest moments in anime history. Clannad is by far my most favorite anime of all times because the whole theme and meaning of it is so touching and human.

that's the end of clannad the sad end but when i whant to stop crying i just try to remember the happy endings when tomoya and nagisa and ushio are still living. -.- but that don't help me that much coz then am starting to cry for happynes of that they are living happy together. and if i still whant to stope crying i just look up on youtube for funny clannad videos. but then i just remember on the sad videos and how it was befor they die :( and lived so i just let it come out and that's it ^^
i don't know whether or not its because i find snow and extremely sad element ( have sad memories of snow) but that was by far the saddest thing i have ever seen in an anime. sure as hell the music did not help . great scene.. just kinda heart-breaking.
Not evil at all. It is for telling a tragic story. I'm sure the story writer wanted to make a compelling story of emotion, and show that it is not just some regular fantasy, but also shows the harshness of the real world. Thus you see, that a father's....no, anyone's greatest tragedy is seeing a person they love die in their arms due to a terminal illness.
Your right, the robot is also Tomoya, the girl is ushio, and by using the all wish's from the town he's able to make a new would, but the dream world were the robot and girl lived was were all the wishes are stored but when Tomoya resets every thing that world is used up.
@wilsonhkong When Tomoya keeps telling her that they'll go on a trip once she gets better she answers "It has to be now." thus she already knew she wouldn't survive that day (same prolly goes for Tomoya). Thats why he took her out eventhough she had fever. She had the best time of her life during a trip and wanted to go for a last one before she dies.
@iiKimchee He doesn't actually wish that all that never happened. You actually hear his wish right before he collapses and dies. "Someone, save Ushio.". You're right that that light (or so to speak "the city") granted his wish but that wish didn't include going back in time or saving Nagisa as well. You could call the fact that Nagisa came back as well a "bonus" the city gave him - in the game the reason for that "bonus" is that Tomoya made 13 wishes come true (the lights) and was repayed.
No actually that was a world of wishes in fact Ushia and Nagisa did die in a different dimension and he woke in a alternative dimension.If you paid attention to the story it was explained by the genius girl.Plus if it was a illusionary world you can't be able to dream of your daughter without her not being born in the first place.

You already know what happened, but I'm just reiterating because it's part of the plot. Technically it was real.

Yeah, that's truth, and in fact that's why he got to the Empty world where there was only that house, Ushio and himself

Thats a great theory too about the wish I think he did use that wish but was sent to a different dimension where Nagisa and Ushia lived.
