    There's a song by them called Desert Song, which I think was a demo for three cheers, and which I absolutely love, it's by far one of their saddest and emotional songs. I think three cheers has another demo called bury me in black.

      @Wrkill22 Рік тому +3

      2nd that, Desert Song is amazing. They sang it live as their closing in NYC on Sept. 11 last year, and it was so poignant (and yes, they opened with Skylines and Turnstiles).

    So, a “b-side” is traditionally a second song they’d release with vinyl versions of singles before CDs. Because a vinyl record has 2 sides, one side would have the single (let’s say it was Teenagers, for example) and then they’d put a song not intended for the album (Kill All Your Friends) or another song from the album that wasn’t a single (Sleep) on the other side. Nowadays, B-sides just means bonus tracks or unreleased songs put in little EPs like this. But when TBP album came out, this was in fact released as a physical CD single with a live copy of Famous Last Words, Kill All Your Friends and My Way Home Is Through You :)) hope this helps!

    I think a fun extra song to react to by MCR would be Desolation Row. It's actually a cover of a Bob Dylan song from the 1960s of the same name that they did for the movie Watchmen. It's super good and the music video's awesome.

  • @ZalemMoon
    @ZalemMoon Рік тому +9

    Heaven Help Us never fails to give me chills when I listen to it 😭. I actually think it could have fit on the album somewhere, maybe towards the end. The ending of the song imo ends a little too abruptly for such an emotional sounding song though, but it's one of my favorites from the B-sides. I recommend their music video for the song "Desolation Row" it's a fun song that I don't hear people talking about much. But yeah, they have so many hidden gems that I've seen people mention . I've seen some people recommend their documentary "Life On The Murder Scene", that'd be cool, but it's also sad seeing some of the stuff Gerard went through with his addiction and depression, although he's doing so much better since then.

    The black parade b-sides are sooooo good! I understand why they're not on the album cause they don't really fit the concept to well, but I'm glad they decided to release them after the fact cause they're so catchy and energetic. I hope you'll consider doing the b-sides of revenge as well; bury me in black, desert song, and sister to sleep (the quality of this one is not too great lol, if you want a better quality version I'd recommend listening to a live version from one of their recent shows in LA instead). These ones aren't as polished as the b-sides of black parade, but they're also really good imo. Also the Mad Gear and Missile Kid EP are kind of like b-sides for danger days, along with the song Zero Percent which was on a special release of the album

    You DEFINITELY need to do a reaction to the Famous Last Words Video. It is pure energy. At least 3 of the band members sustained injuries while shooting it. Gerard tore ligaments in his ankle, one of the guitarists (can't remember which) broke a finger and the drummer suffered 3rd degree burns in the last shot and had to miss several shows while getting treatment. There may have been another injury to the other guitarists, but I can't remember. If true, that would mean that Mikey was the only one to come away unscathed.

      We live in a world were they technically have demos of their demos. I’m primarily thinking about ‘The world is ugly’. And how it has a studio version via Conventional Weapons which they have played live in 2022/2023 and a 2008 (?) live demo.
      But also ‘Bury me in black’ once again they have played it a bunch of times in this 2022/2023 tour but the original live demo is on the documentary Life on the murder scene. And both have different lyrics. So yeah, it never ends.

    I absolutely love TBP B-sides! All the songs on there are so energetic and fun, and it really gives you an adrenaline rush 😅 I actually didn't really like My Way Home is Through You when I first heard it, but I've learned to enjoy it, and now I absolutely love it! Even though they didn't make the album, they deserve just as much praise as the rest of TBP songs. And I dunno if this is an appropriate for a fun fact, buuuut here it is! I bet you didn't know that The Black Parade was originally going to be called The Five of Us Are Dying? I'm pretty sure they changed it because they were superstitious about it or something 😂 anyway, I'm really glad you reacted to this!! I've never seen anyone react to TBP B-sides before, so it was really cool hearing your thoughts about it! I'm also really excited for Conventional Weapons because it's actually been one of my favorites from them lately, it's just so good! Can't wait to hear what you have to say about that. Also, I dunno if anyone else has thought this but I think your favorite drummer might be Bob Bryar? Because you really seemed to enjoy the drums on Black Parade and Three Cheers, and those are the albums he did the drums for. Just a guess! Though Bob is a great drummer, and personally my favorite musicwise, him as a person isn't that good... I won't get into it, but let's just say there was some drama that led to him being kicked out of the band by Gerard. I'm also pretty sure the first drummer from Bullets was kicked out for something, but he might've just left willingly, I'm not sure. But MCR seems to have some controversy surrounding drummers lol. Anyway, might I recommend you react to The Black Parade Living With Ghosts? It's basically just demos and unreleased songs, but it's really cool and definitely worth checking out! I mean, you can be a killjoy and not have heard ALL their songs, but I think it would really seal the deal! And sure, a try not to headbang challenge, especially with MCR, would be pretty cool! I hope you've had a great adventure with these guys, it's definitely been fun for me! Hope you have a great day! :D

    If you enjoy guitar solos, you aught to go down the Bayside rabbit hole. They have been steadily putting out music for over 20 years and most of their songs feature a solo by their guitarist "Jack O'Shea" and they are great. So I think my favorite drummer is Bob Bryar but I know this will get me cancelled, lol. The main reason I like him is that he was the drummer when I started listening to them and at the moment he was just part of the band (included in all photography sessions, interviews and stuff), unlike the next drummer who simply wasn't included (plus coming much much later, once I was out of my fangirl phase). From a musical perspective I guess I also like his style more because, again, Revenge and Black Parade are my favorite albums so... that's why. I know he did something (not sure what) that got him cancelled and now people pretend he didn't exist but that drama didn't happen in my time so I can't tell you much about it.
