Yes!! I always miss the little ones. Hence why I now have potatoes in the middle of my garlic and one growing up in between my cabbage

we were able to get the potatoes planted in our new raised beds a few weeks ago and today it’s finally sunny enough here in the PNW for me to put in my peppers, herbs and beans! Glorious sunshine 🌞 ❤ Thanks for another informative video.

You say potato, I say potato let’s watch them grow.
I find rotating potato patches every couple of years avoids blight. I find purple spuds never do well.
I think in pei they shovel them up and shake the soil out to harvest all of them

Just a friendly tip, those long sprouts will make smaller potatoes and won't store as well. If you twist them off and wait 2-3 weeks you'll have a new set of short stubby chits which is what you want. They elongate looking for the light, so at chitting time keep them near some indirect light and they'll stay short, fat and green up just what you want.

hi Jeff, this is very new information to me. I'll have to check it out and test. Have you tred this yourself and gotten success?

@@OldSchoolPrepper Yes that's how I do it now. I used to think those long chits/sprouts were good and plant them like that but always got smaller harvests and they didn't store well. Now I only do the short/fat chits and get much better results.

@@OldSchoolPrepper I sure hope so considering how much you've got coming up! Maybe a "here's what I do with all my potatoes" video featuring recipes as well as canning and preparing?
