William is an amazing vocalist.
Will can make any song his. He don't have to copy anyone. AIC. we're lucky to get him. That's an art in itself. I don't compare him to any singer especially Layne. Layne is AIC. And no ONE can take that away from him. Even William gets that. And that's what's so unique about him. He doesn't pretend to be Layne. He knows he can never achieve the exact vocals of Laynes. But He pays tribute to our Layne everytime he sings an AIC song. Will is his own artist and should forever be appreciated for his courage and strength to take on replacing LAYNE. Thank you Will!

I agree. I was slow to appreciate Duvall after being fiercely into Layne and the tragic saga that was his brilliant existence. I have opened my mind, respect Jerry and Sean's choice, and William Duvall is superb.

I am a 1974 high school grad, this is the best Zeppelin cover I have heard.
I love how much vulnerability there was in Duval vocals here... he probably felt throughout the song that he can't pull this off flawlessly without visible effort but he held on his ground, went for those high notes nonetheless, this tension made this performance impactful. It's like watching a battle, seemingly impossible task at hand but there's no possibility nor will for giving up.
NEVER seen a symphony jam so hard before in my life. They were dying to get this out of their system all their lives!

As a die hard Zep fan.....I must first say thank you for my ability to actually understand tbe lyrics!!! Second, a seriously rocking conductor along with his seriously rocking full orchestra. Finally a respectfully performed rendition of Cashmere on a grand level. Outstanding.

Aaron Lewis is pretty damn good, for some AiC songs like Nutshell, but I agree. A lot of people think that the guy from the Chicago AiC tribute band Facelift should be lead singer because he sounds just like Layne, but it's really fucking disrespectful to Layne if they did that.

They are right to keep the name, layne doesn’t own the name especially when the other founding and early members are still around and mostly Jerry who has always been the most important member of the band

Jerry basically locked himself in his Texas home after Layne's death ..and emerged with Degradation trip ,,,vols1 and 2 ...which some songs were dedicated to Layne ...but also needed a new front man ..and choose Duvall ....that's good enough for me ..comparing the two is pointless .

Jerry wrote the songs for Degradation Trip before Layne's death. The songs were written in 1998/99. Two of the songs Jerry wrote during that time became AIC songs, the last ones with Layne on vocals (Died, Get Born Again). Degradation Trip was released in 2002, not long after Layne's death, that's why Jerry dedicated the album to Layne.

I know some people have a problem with William and have to make constant comparisons to Layne, however I love the reformed Alice in Chains. William isn't Layne; Layne died. William brings his own energy to the band and I can accept the change that has occurred with the band and I embrace it because all four men are tremendous musicians and have put on the best concerts I have ever been to.

I hear you on that one. When i was 12 or 13 I heard the original song on my buddies dad's computer and I instantly became a Led head. So many great Zeppelin songs dont know how their not in every rock fan's top 5. In my opinion they didn't make one bad song. My favorite deep track is Battle of Evermore.

Pretty damn good, I was skeptical at first, but well done! The drums are on point and the vocals are good considering the difficulty of covering a Zep song...this one in particular. Great timing and execution. My ears have a tendency to bleed when someone tries to cover Led Zeppelin, but this surprisingly works very good.

First time I've seen this... Holy. Shit. !!! Amazing, blew me away!
I saw Layne Live, as well as the studio mixes that were released. I Grieved when he passed. But the band asked his family if they should disband or proceed to find a new singer they thought could complement Layne's legacy. Layne's family told them the thought he would want them to continue. They found William. He is amazing in his covers of Layne, but , Of Course, He has his own sound. It fits with the band. Would you want Axl Rose to sing for Alice in Chains? I think Not. Is he Layne? No. Layne unfortunately passed. Is he a quite good singer who seems to fit well with the rest of the band? Absolutely! I mourn Layne, Kurt, Andrew, and Chris, but better to honor their memories than to slam a new member to their respective bands because they are not the departed. Of course they are not the departed, but they have a talent recognized by the surviving band. Let them do what they can and judge them on their merits, not on how they are not the departed......

That was a great night in Seattle, raising money for Children's Hospital and getting to see Alice in Chains cover Kashmir with the Northwest Symphony. It's great to see this work getting the credit it deserves. Alice in Chains then performed this with the NW Symphony at the opening Seahawks game that year.

I give Duval props for stepping in, he could never replace Layne. It's about carrying on for the sole purpose of making beautiful music. I've had nothing but admiration for Jerry since I was a teenager. Duval was chosen and deserves his spot, this proves he has the chops to hold down his position. I'm sure the boys from the mighty Zep would agree.
