It really makes you feel like you are skipping important info about their characters and thus don't care what they are fighting for and where tf did they came from, same as clover who doesn't care about who these monsters are, only that they are in his way and must perish in the name of justice.

@@DragoonDyte Yeah in Pacifist they're fully opaque and will hurt you if you touch them, unlike Genocide where they're semi-transparent and don't hurt until broken

imagine playing as ceroba in this situation, you are renowned as one of the most powerful monsters, with the ability to reduce max health, but you dont even get to show that off and miss every single attack to a child with a fucking gun.
Not to mention that kid, apparently, flat out fanning the revolver
In general, Flowey led him along the easy path with easy monsters. So maybe it's only for Clover that she's a hell boss, for others it looks like a fight between two disabled people
@@noyneimkakoito Maybe that's the case, but after this fight Flowey says that if he could take Ceroba, Asgore would be a cake walk, I assume the path is easier because the monster there are less hostile but not weaker necessarily, Frisk had to deal with incredibly aggresive and persistent monsters like Undyne who went straight for their head and chased them across all waterfall, and we see that in one of the previous states, Undyne was the one to kill Clover.
Also did you see how Clover was killed on Hotland? how the hell could anyone survive that lmao

there’s one thing i really hate about this fight, and that is this attack: 2:55
there is absolutely no indication of what color the wave is going to be, so all you can do is memorize the order from previous attempts, which in my opinion is kind of a stupid thing to do for an attack
It's not even the same order, it seems. Just gotta guess, while the attack lasts a little too long

@@chadichannel the one where the box gets super small and the fire starts rotating in the center that you have to dodge while not touching the borders of the box since they lower your health that is like impossible to dodge
Yeah that attack is a killer. The only workaround is just to get almost all perfect shots to end the fight one turn early.

With Ceroba’s staff, it does seem to be manifested from her magic

How the hell did you know what color shockwaves would come from "Twirl and Whirl" in advance? Did you get a bunch of lucky guesses? I always have to position myself to react to whichever color comes out.
no it actually comes out in the same pattern every time: Orange, Blue, Blue, Orange, Blue, Orange for phase 1 and Orange, Blue, Orange, Orange, Blue, Orange, Blue, Blue for phase 2

Every colored attack has a set pattern for both phase 1 and phase 2 respectively
For the attack where the flowers collapse and then either a blue or orange ring bursts out, is there a way to know which is coming? I cam never react in time
In phase 1 it’s always the same order that you’ll have to learn but I think it’s always changing in phase 2
Today i learned a safe spot for flower shooting that i dont have to dodge like a gamer

this battle is hell for me cause i can't figure out the timing on the six shooter...
I just switched to the Glass Ammo. Less damage sure but it's more manageable and you get some healing too

these genocide fights all suck so much, their attacks are all the same, and you gotta die over and over again until you memorize perfectly each movement and pattern. no skill involved. just cheesing. i actually beat her by completely normal means. human reactions. took me 8 tries
yeah i liked the upgrades in martlet's fight from neutral but after that it's really just trial, error, and luck
Undertale Yellow
The fights look good but maaaaan could they have done with a better sense of actual game design. The worst offender is the draining box of Ceroba
- Super punishing
- Hard to notice with nothing pointing to the change
- Literally happens in the background as your eyes are preoccupied by the death lasers and flowers
If someone not only noticed the battle box change AND realized it wasn’t just an aesthetic change for their anime oc (like how her sprite isn’t white) the first time around without first having a run where they run into it
I’d be impressed… then probably assume they are lying to look cool because, again, the fight does not make the change clear at all especially since, unlike the beams, the battle box shifts between red and white constantly
Ceroba's fight is quite fun though, yes it's super punishing and it's a lot of trial and error, but once you get the memory patterns, it's super fun.

I finally beat her after two hours of attempts. I used steel buckle and flint ammo, but you can use glass if you want a tiny help in tanking the attacks. What really helped was know ing what attack came next, don’t worry about getting hit because she only deal three damage with steel buckle, just don’t get your health reduced too much and eventually you’ll learn her attacks.
in other words, I SHOULDNT HAVE WASTED MY FLINT ON THE ELEVTOR OR TOSSED MY STEEL BUCKLE 😭

You can change your max HP (and a multitude of other stats) in the game's save file, which for Windows is located at "C:\Users\[username]\Appdata\Local\Undertale_Yellow" (appdata is a hidden folder, you can either show hidden folders or type "%localappdata%\Undertale_Yellow" in the address bar

I noticed your LOVE is one higher than mine. Did you kill Decibat? If you genocide the Ruins before reaching him, he just doesn't show up. I feel like I screwed myself out of higher stats.
no, I actually didn't get Decibat either, I missed a few rooms in Dunes so I ended up killing El Bailador and one of the flower ladies right before the town, this fight can be reached with either LV10 or LV11, just based on how much exp you gain, so it's pretty much encounter rng unfortunately

There’s a fixed order for both phases, phase 1 is ‘orange, blue blue, orange, blue’ phase 2 is ‘orange, blue, orange orange, blue
Yeeeah just gotta memorize it. Things like this are why, although an amazing spectacle, I don’t think quite a few of Undertale Yellow’s fights are mechanically designed all too well from a fairness standpoint

Totally, it’s hell and harder than “a bad tooooom” but it’s last not so long and if perfect hits, it’s may be faster than sans fight for 2 times or more
