Hinamatsuri is so underrated anime, it was fun to watch, so wholesome and lots of funny cute moments, i hope it gets its second season soon
Idk about a s2, to be honset the plot was a mess, but no denying the wholesome fun, and the momennts that genuinely makes one rethink life.

The single best running gag in Hinamatsuri is how everyone who ever gets hurt says “Aita!” regardless of how hurt they are.

So just to recap: anime is Hinamatsuri.
This clip is from the very last episode, and the girl shown (Mao) has no other parts.
Rest of the anime follows a young girl (Hina) who gets taken in by a lowly yakuza after teleporting into his apartment.
Another girl shows up to kill her for vague reasons, fails, and learns to live in the human world starting out homeless and valuing everything (unlike Hina who is just handed everything).
They have supernatural powers, and that's kinda glazed over as minor or insignificant plot.
Studious girl gets involved with them and has her own share of the spotlight.
Rest is slice of life themed comedy. Don't expect the entirety to be like this clip, but do expect to enjoy it.

The series is not a martial arts anime or even a martial arts comedy. It is just a surreal comedy series within a slice of life setting.
Lol I ended up watching the whole anime because I thought it would be something like Mob physco 💯 with some action, comedy, and some sort of powerful Villain battle in the end. Since the organization seem to hint me that for some reason. Instead I found a different perspective for it in the end.

Mao is kinda tragic and I feel sorry for her. I mean what she wants most is to have friends but she's so messed up from all that time spent in isolation and from people who just want to take advantage of her that it's hard for her to do so. In the manga after the timeskip it really emphasises this aspect about her character and if this gets another season I hope it goes into it.
I miss Hinamatsuri, I pray that we can get a second season one day.

I was hyped for a martial arts anime with a female leading protagonist.
The closest thing I can find is Ranma 1/2.
Literally still a guy who can shape-shift into a girl.

@@zenwilds2911 this show still does have a female protagonist that's really powerful, and iirc they do fight a bit; but mainly its the slice of life of said girl and her yakuza member father-figure.
This scene is from the end of the show, where we see where the (relative?) of one of the main cast members, that gets mentioned a bit, was at all along.
Show never got a season 2, but presumably this character would've been more important to the plot during it if it did.
It's def not a bad show or anything; but yeah, like op said it's not a martial arts show that this incredibly strange crunchyroll clip would suggest it is
