5:50 I really appreciate their naming convention. I think that the original magenta has white in it, so could have been called light magenta and your signature paint, just magenta or medium magenta. Dark magenta on the other hand, since it contains just one pigment that is by no means dark, is quite odd like you mentioned earlier in the video.
I’ve been wanting to try Pro Acryl for a while now, but didn’t want to get colors I already had from other brands. That was until your and Vince’s line came along. Just ordered about 4 paints from each set and can’t wait till they arrive!
2 parts Vallejo dark Prussian blue, 1 part Vallejo dark vermillion, and 1 part black makes a nice color for the shadows of eighth legion astarties armor. If you use a medium gray instead of black you get a really interesting purple
I bought both sets and love all the colors except dark warm flesh, for some reason no matter how much I shake the paint, or how thin or thick I paint it on, it settles and drys bright orange. Looks good on the pallette, but drys on the model orange

I love citadel paints! using the contrast medium on paints which aren't contrast paints is one of my favorite things, I love seeing how the colour coats with the medium! Do wish they did colour shift paint though!
One metallic I’ve been mixing alot is a copper/gold by combining ~1 part retrubuter gold with ~1 part Golden brand iridescent copper. Gives a nice subtle color shift between copper and gold but it seems like there’s no good equivalent straight from a bottle
The main paint i have tried to find is a true bright pink I have not found a single one that I’ve been happy with. All the paint from your set seem amazing and has a wide range of use.
I saw these on Michtoy I think for preorder a couple of weeks ago & was intrigued. Will definitely have to check them out, especially as I want to add some more Pro Acryl to my collection (standing at 1 color so far).
Every time I do TMM gold I always always always start with a layer of P3 Blighted gold or S75 Necro Gold. They're basically identical in color, thickness, etc. Has great coverage but doesn't cover detail, which is amazing as most gold paints suck. Once the base layer is done I can then get a variety of different kinds of golds out of it. Wash with agrax, highlight with the base color to make an old bronze or highlight even further with a brass color to make a new bronze/brass. No wash then layer on a medium gold then highlight with a bright gold to make a deep, rich and regal gold color. Overall I can't work without it
I would love to see a segment of Daryl painting up something befitting him. 😄👍 With him showing us why he paints a figure using 'Dead Toenail', and why he likes the object he picked to paint; like a tank, or even a Fairy ('Hey! Don't judge me. Fairies're hawt. And this 'Dead Toenail' really brings out her purty hair.') 😁😄 Seriously, I love seeing Daryl in these episodes. And he's always giving you suggestions for making and painting stuff. Seeing his take on something (something you probably would never really paint. Or something you want to paint in a way most would say "Awhhgrblblgh! No!" But Daryl would paint it that way. 😉👍 Fantastic episode. The two I find are absolutely automatic are P3 Jack Bone (which I think either you or Miniac led me to), and Snakebite Leather Contrast, which I find produces an absolutely perfect leather effect.

I like Turbo Dork's Redrum, GW's shades and Technicals, GW's variety of flesh tones and bone colors, Vallejo's Jade and metal colors, Scale's speed metal, Army painter's variety of off grays, and everything from Pro Acryl, but particularly the bright colors and metallics. I am always hunting for a super-bright green, but rarely use them.
I started with Vallejo mecha line up because I make gundams also. I think they have some really cool colors and effect paints. Not always the best for minis but airbrushing them are amazing. Then with some their colors I can’t get exactly with others I feel.
Some of my Pro-Acryl paints have odd smaller text in front of the name e.g. Blue has 'pants' written smaller text just off to the side of the colour patch, I'm not sure whose pants are that blue or whether Monument knows that the word 'pants' is a slang word for crap i.e. Citadel paint pots are pants. Ivory has 'an eye for an' in the same place as pants is written, Green has the word 'soylent', Khaki has the word 'finally' etc. Those are the only paints I remember off the top of my head but I'd like to know if there is an 'in joke' regarding these names. Maybe from a Kickstarter campaign? I've found some of my Pro-Acryl paints are fantastic but others (particularly the greens, the white and the Yellow Ochre) always come out of the bottle gritty despite being mixed on a vortex mixer and no matter how long for. I'm really enjoying Pro-Acryls transparent paints at the moment. I have the full range except yours and Vinces sets but I'll have them when they're released in the U.K... February 😔
✊😑Amen. Magenta is great. ☝😄 Whilst not the most versatile, I f'n LOVE using 'tesserac glow'... so very scifi.. would love something with that vibrancy & smidge more opacity so it'll PUNCH green without relying on the baselayer. And in goddamn dropper bottle with mixing balls! Please!!

BUT: Two or three months ago, you accepted to be on the paint development team of Army Painter for the extension of the AP Speedpaint range, without disclosing, that you were also working on "your own" paints. Yet on an episode of "Trapped under plastic" you criticised Juan Hidalgo following the "Spikey Bits controversy" , because Juan had reviewed the AP range and pointed out some issues with this paint range without disclosing that at that precise moment, he had been working for some time with Vallejo on their Express Color range... At least you had the grace of withdrawing from the Army Painter Paint development team (without disclosing publically why), but only after you had been introduced publically by AP and got exposure on a couple of channels for that... Honestly. Not the best move in my opinion, but cudos to you, that you did think twice about it and did not take your commitment with AP any further. Just saying.
You know, something that would be really useful is a series of single pigment tints. Where they're not going to overpower other colors, but just help lean them towards another hue or tone without muddying it up with a tone of new pigments. Wouldn't need many. Maybe 3 good primaries and 3 secondaries or so.

I've been hoping you'd do a video on these paints as it really helps to understand the thought process behind them and their intended role. Not that I can't just use them for anywhere I need a dead toenail or poop color, but knowing they were intended for specific things I would never have thought of really opens up the possibilities for me in painting. I'm really hoping Vince does the same with his set as I picked up both. Pro Acryl and Ninjon are two of my favorite things, so this was like someone making a Dr.Pepper and pickles pizza. Like how am I NOT going to buy that?
There are some colors I would like: finished tartan pattern, perfect eyes, realistic beard shadow and - very important - a universal color for all those things on a miniature only the sculptor nows, what it's supposed to be ;-) But those look very nice too! One color I recently discovered, is GOLDEN SoFLAT MATTE ACRYLICS, Paynes Grey. It is a very matte and dark grey, but much more interesting than VGC Dark Sea Blue. It is - in my opinion a very nice start for every black fabric or armor.

I make mini paints from emptying posca paint pens into dropper bottles...hear me out, it's acrylic paint, it's got a super matt finish, there's a huge range, it has great opacity, and it has a weird self-leveling quality that creates a really smooth finish. It does have certain downsides like it doesn't like being put on a wet palette, and if you use it too thickly it dries crackly but it opens up options I didn't have before. when I have enough money to pick your paints up I'll give them a try, they look great. and I know you are quite the paint collector so you know ya shizz;le when it comes to what works and what doesn't :)

I'm back at miniature painting after taking 4 years off from it. I was able to mostly recover my Citadel paints, but they just don't behave like they are supposed to. Seriously, 1992 vintage Citadel paints just needed shaking to be good to go, but come Citidel paints from 6 years ago are just chunky goo, even after rehydrating and mixing with a vortex mixer... After trying out 2 of their paints, based on you and Vince's reviews, I just ordered the entire range of Pro Acryl, including both signature sets.
ProAcryl paints have become my favorite to work with recently. Not sure if this is the case with all of their paints, but their light grey runs better through an airbrush than like, any of the other brands I've used.

Game changer, when you own pro acryl/sc75 and only have 5 or 6 GW paints, THESE colours fill those 5 or 6.

I got your dark ivory and boy does it work as an under coat for painting a silver wash over it to make a platinum color

The Dark Plum looks like its close to one of the colors you liked in that Testor's "craft paint" set.

How are you using the transparent paints? I’ve used them with the metallic medium but I’m sure they have other uses.
I've mixed up an "accursed gunmetal" wash so many times, for undead armored dudes. Just a blue-grey wash to go over metallics.
I watched this while using Dark Ivory to basecoat some tusks.

I make mini paints from emptying posca paint pens into dropper bottles...hear me out, it's acrylic paint, it's got a super matt finish, there's a huge range, it has great opacity, and it has a weird self-leveling quality that creates a really smooth finish. It does have certain downsides like it doesn't like being put on a wet palette, and if you use it too thickly it dries crackly but it opens up options I didn't have before. when I have enough money to pick your paints up I'll give them a try, they look great. and I know you are quite the paint collector so you know ya shizz;le when it comes to what works and what doesn't :)

I'm back at miniature painting after taking 4 years off from it.
I was able to mostly recover my Citadel paints, but they just don't behave like they are supposed to. Seriously, 1992 vintage Citadel paints just needed shaking to be good to go, but come Citidel paints from 6 years ago are just chunky goo, even after rehydrating and mixing with a vortex mixer...
After trying out 2 of their paints, based on you and Vince's reviews, I just ordered the entire range of Pro Acryl, including both signature sets.
Guess i know what i'm ordering from Element on the 10th Feb!
ProAcryl paints have become my favorite to work with recently. Not sure if this is the case with all of their paints, but their light grey runs better through an airbrush than like, any of the other brands I've used.
So many of their paints get so thin in an airbrush while still maintaining their color it's crazy.

I've been using Vallejo Sunny Skin tone as a highlight, especially for red for so long, I'm gonna have to grab these sets. I literally ordered the rest of the Pro Acryl paints I wanted a week before these came out too. 😅
