I’m so glad I bought Precut Parade, every quilt in it is gorgeous. That “oldie” you have titled ‘Chance’ is fabulous… and I think I just might have a jelly roll plus one matching charm pack with which to make it. I *always* buy patterns directly from the Quilt Designer. Oh, and absolutely Perfect Timing that your black cat walked over your summer camp Quilt at the exact moment you said “and this quilt I made for Halloween”! 😉🐈⬛👻🎃😊 Love that quilt design too.
What an amazing legacy of quilts 😍 Be proud! 🙋♀️🇨🇦 That is unfair that a designer never sees a portion of the profits of their patterns , the first designers paving the path that agreed to that point in a contract definitely did not have a vision for the future. Those that came after them never had a chance. I wonder if these principles come into play with your Black Cat 🐈⬛ series table runners. I LOVED those patterns & kept up with them religiously. I’m not going to lie, I was quite disappointed that only 2 patterns were released. I vigilantly watched for a spring & summer version . It had already occurred to me that maybe you have no say in when or if those patterns ever get released 😩 That would be so super crappy because I hope someday soon I get to make more of the Black Cat series!!!
Thank you very much! For the Onyx table runners, I have more designed and I'm trying to decide what to do with them. My contract for working with and posting on the BERNINA blog has come to an end. Currently, they don't have the budget to re-up the contract. I'm am debating posting them in my shop for sale or waiting to see if the contract gets re-upped at some point and then I would post them on their blog. I have to think on it.
I really like the Moda sew along pattern! I think I will follow the links for instructions. I have that exact fabric - I think I have enough to do the whole quilt. I don't have a lot of fall quilts, so this would be a good addition to my own quilt ladders! I sure do understand why you don't do patterns for magazines anymore. I don't think anyone realizes the rights to your designs that you lose. I know I didn't know. But thanks for that information. I will have to take note from the magazines I look at to keep the pattern name and buy it from the designer. Thanks for sharing your fall quilts. I enjoyed it so much!

I love your information about the magazines! I’ll never buy from them again, I’d rather support lovely women like you! Also, their is a film you can put on your window that blocks the SUV rays but you can still see out and get light.
It was a Lori Holt one that I can't remember the name but you most likely won't find anymore since it was a while ago. However, many of her fabric lines use the same types of colors so I think you can find something similar.
It's about 27" wide. It is borderline too large. It was the first prototype when my husband made them. After this one, we made them shorter and skinner. You can really do whatever fits in your space.

I don't recall the size. I looked it up and here is the original page for the center dresden- www.modafabrics.com/2018/06/path-a-dresden-peak.html It says to use the printer friendly option get the template but I don't see it. Maybe I missed it though and you are able to find it. I hope so 🤞🏻
Oh I am so bummed I missed out on your Precut Parade book. Once Martingale closed I was so sad because it was my go to for my quilting library. I would love it if you did a QAL with Happy Go Lucky. I think it would be fun. I like that you gave the insight to how the publishing works for a magazine using your patterns. I feel really bad though that designers do not credit in the form of royalties or rights, at least partial, so they can get paid for every pattern sold. I get that if someone is starting out then they need exposure but not getting compensated makes my stomach turn sour. I say I feel bad because I currently have 7 different quilting magazine subscriptions and now I feel like I am helping to rob these hard working designers & stealing their creativity since they are not paid at least half or a third of the sale of their patterns. It makes me question renewing my magazines now. I do buy from the ETSY shops of certain designers and now I guess I will only buy from the designers shops directly now so I can at least feel like they are being compensated for their effort, time, & creativity because I think that is so unfair. Thank you for sharing your passion with us. In case you have not been told lately, your work is wonderful, your instructions are very helpful & your videos are a gift. I appreciate all you do for us fellow quilters.

Jessica Can you recommend a hand quilting thimble, possibly made from porcelain. I have seen an elderly American lady using one and I would obviously like to find one. Could you send me a link to your shop. I lived in Arkansas for 20 years but came neck to the UK in 2010 and quilting supplies are hard to find. Please respond. Thx so much. 🥰
Sorry, I cannot recommend a porcelain thimble. I use thimble pads because I haven't found a comfortable thimble yet. My shop is here- jessicadayon.etsy.com
I used to jump into any pattern as a beginner because I viewed it as a learning experience. If you have that mentality, you can do it. If not, I'd probably say it is advanced beginner or intermediate.
It sounds like in the quilting world , they want you to work for minimal profit whilst they exploit your talents and your need for exposure to be able to actually one day make it, it’s sad and wrong, it reminds me of the dance world where they expect dancers to work either for nothing( payment is exposure!) , or for so little money that it doesn’t cover their costs of relocation, accommodation, transport or indeed food. Artists seem to be fully exploited when they are starting their careers, not great ❤
