Wired my choke open years ago, boats are run in the summertime. Don’t need much choke to get them started pump a little bit and the motor is running smooth and no time.😊
Well it turned out to be multiple issues... 1st, the rod that connects the choke heater was not engaged to the coil, just sitting on top of it... 2nd, and more significantly, I discovered earlier this summer, a bit of water in the oil. Long story short, I had to replace the head gaskets, exhaust manifolds, and also needed my Heads to be rebuilt. Runs amazing now!
The choke does not open, that seems to be the Problem. My 3.0 would Idle very bad, if choke is still 99 % closed after that long time. It should open in the first Minute.
