It is pretty crazy how "sticky" of a religion Islam is. You rarely, rarely see ex-Christians that will aggressively defend Christianity. Cenk Uygur is a prime example with Islam, he's a secular, atheistic socialist, but his brain has been so propagandized growing up around Islam that he gets animalistically aggressive when the topic of Israel-Palestine comes up. It's just programmed into him, even if he no longer practices the religion.
My best friend, also a Turk, is gay. He's gone on many rants to me about how uncomfortable the Muslims in Turkey make him, and how he's heard men advocate for Sharia. The INSTANT I agreed with him, his brain just defaulted to its programming and did the whole "Anything negative you think about the Quran or Sunnah is just bad translation. All of those violent things aren't real, it's just bad translation." thing.

Tribal Elders, lol. That's a good one, but unfortunately I don't think they even know the concept of tribes and the elder type of small decision making. AP has maybe a half a million subscribers and this other jerk off with his mask hiding behind his beliefs has maybe 10K and he sees other content creators as a way to form a more steady and increasing income. He's young, not terribly bright, and is trying to thrive on the coat tails of others. He deals with topic with mittens on his hands and he seems too frightened to truly state his convictions so he wants to describe some brutal historical cults and medieval schools of thought in the least offensive way possible probably more out of self preservation than building a brand or technique. When dealing with the kinds of texts and the speeches these people themselves make there's just no recipe that includes this Aladdin guy. I wouldn't subscribe to him out of general principle or watch his content.

He got help on a spiritual level which is beautiful and amazing. Psychopaths are people too. On a journey through this reality that none of us fully know or understand. If he contributes to good in this human experience, great. Psychopathy is a variation, you lack a great deal of human emotional equipment. And some psychopaths act from that lack of empathy, emptiness and boredom. They can endulge in playing and toying with people, moving them like pawns. Yet it is not the only course of action open to them. Empathy is amazing, but not the only aspect of growth. Clarity, discernement, courage, honesty and responsibility are not bad either. Some of those come easier to a psychopath I would imagine. Courage is even unnecessary, since there is no fear. Btw, if he is a genuine psychopath id say he does not do love in the experiential sense of the word. He chooses to do the right thing maybe? Cognitive empathy and respect for his God and saviour? Surrendering to the reality of a higher power?

Im Polish and we have our own history with muslims. Though I think younger generations generally embrace multiculturalism, belive religions and prejudice are things of the past and think we all can get along well. I must say David and AP changed my view completely and I'm so grateful. I don't hate muslims but we just can't deny the obvious threats of Islamic ideologies for democratic & developed societies. How can anybody take this guy serious ? He speaks with an American accent so chances are he has little to no knowledge of "mainstream" Islam in the Middle East. This is often the case with American Muslims. They don't know what it's like to live in an unsecure country. For example, many Muslim countries a person must go with the grain. People who defy rulers like Sadaam, Qaddafi, or Asaad are crushed immediately. Sadaam was a Sunni Muslim in a Shia majority and he was very harsh with some of them at different periods in time. Many people have said that a leader like that was needed to deal with these kind of hot heads otherwise there is constant chaos and unrest. It is like this in the majority of Muslim countries and that is why we saw the "Arab Spring" when they got together and took to the streets. This was not something that could always be done and that's why they did it one after the other because the public eye was watching. The people had gripes with their governments and for generations they were dealt with extra-judicial imprisonment, executions, and severe beatings. I see the current young people of the Internet age. At one time if you weren't a learned and well read person you wouldn't have any clue about foreign affairs like AOC when she was interviewed one time early in her house seat. I found all of this interesting before there was an internet or even cell phones let alone a smart phone. You had to read and do research. Now these young people, the "Gen Z" make quick decisions about complex topics that you can't learn about from watching a few twenty minute documentaries or even worse, a short platform like TikTok. People do not even cite their sources and we see how truly ineffective their protest and voice is when they are interviewed as many barely have a grasp of geography let alone geo policical topics of the last fifty to a hundred years. I realize some were not even born during 9/11 and do not know what it's like to be a state of unrest. BLM, George Floyd, and gender topics were many of the experience these people had until October 7th act of true genocide was committed. I find it baffling when I see them talking about "colonizers" which is a simple one and they don't have a clear example of what, when, and how colonizing has been done in the past. No colonizers of the past were refugees not attatched to an empire of some sort which when that is the case there is an economic goal. It really seems like they have almost no grasp of what they are protesting, the definitions that are being used, and how it appears that many are just doing this for a sense of camaraderie, false unity, and just to feel like they are doing something. They are like blades of grass that just blow whichever way as the wind dictates.
True leaders like Saddam Hussein ruled with dictator fist he kiled thousands of Shia Muslims and kurd, after his removal Shia as been majority used democracy for power which Sunnis disliked and started Sunni uprising jehadism to take over iraq...the problem here become if someone did this with Sunnis it will lead to same chaoas and world outrage one sided ruling never works

@Stardust475 Is that a fact ? I would implore people to watch The Dissident on YT about Jamal Khashoggi execution at the Saudi Embassy in Turkey. I really doubt he spent any serious time there. I was born abroad as well, but I can't say I know the ins and outs of that country as I left as an infant. I've been to the M.E. and am familiar with many countries and their 'schools of thought'.

With this Hamas conflict, I've learnt a lot more about the geo poltics. Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Jordan fear an MB coup/ uprising.
The governments recognise that the lay Muslims are more radical than them. This is why they need IDF to take out Hamas, and the aforementioned countries will not risk taking any refugees from Gaza.
Saudis also do not want MB ruling Egypt or on their border in Jordan. This is part of the reason why they want to normalise relations with Israel security and economic benefits.
Whilst Kashoggi affair was deeply shocking, an Islamist rule in the region would be far worse. Kashoggi was sympathetic to MB and was connected to a network of dissidents and MB activists.
I don't think it's completely fair to judge the Gazans for not rising up against Hamas. Hamas has absolute power over the region, and they would easily persecute anyone who stood against them. There have been Palestinians who have spoken or acted against Hamas, but they mostly don't get shown by the media. One rare exception to this is Mosab Hassan Yousef, who made a treacherous journey when defecting to Israel from Hamas

First of all, if the war was against all Gazans without caring at all for civilians, the death toll would be much more than 30K casualties in 5 months, it would already be hundreds of thousands of casualties most likely.
Second of all, Hamas is embedded in all of Gaza unfortunately, that is why the retaliation targets lots of infrastructures that are known or highly suspected to have ammunition and presence of Hamas or other terror groups like Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
Third of all, if it was collective punishment, the civilians would not have gotten warnings and instructions to move south or where to move to, they would not get hundreds of humanitarian trucks entering the Gaza strip everyday etc.

A. I am not certain about this death toll, I am using it for comfort reasons because this is the report we have so far.
B. Even if we take Hams figures with the 30K casualties (which I take with a grain of salt as I said), the IDF claims it killed more than 10K terrorists, so it means the combatant to non-combatant ratio is 1:2 which is considered normal during wars and considering the circumstances in Gaza it is a "great" ratio (I am sorry about being technical and cold hearted but this is how things work in this world).
However, I guess you are quick to believe Hamas figures and you do not believe the IDF estimations.
C. You can say everything that the IDF is doing is for semblance. Anyway, the precautions that the IDF takes is a gazillion times more fair, right and considerate comparing to what Hamas did on Oct 7th and prior to Oct 7th (almost 20 years of dropping missiles indiscriminately) .
D. I have started explaining why it is not utterly collective punishment. There are more claims that reinforce why it is not a collective punishment, but I can already feel you did not address everything I have written for you and perhaps you want to ignore it, such as the embedment of Hamas in the Gaza strip and the humanitarian aid.
I have more things to say, but for now, I suffice with that.
