I learned , the sale cycle: 1. pre order (ex: the apple customer waiting for the new iPhone to drop) 2. the me too customer ( the trend follower) 3. standard retail (having the simple/daily accessible merchandise in your inventory) 4. Antique buyers (demand for limited edition items no longer accessible) Having a "hook"/ using video: 1. why should people watch the video 2.focus on analytic duration (how long are people watching your videos) 3. if its not adding value to the video remove it increasing demand with a waitlist( digital orders), and finally that marketing is about sharing your story to generate leads. thanks for sharing, you guys are awesome ❤
Biggest piece of info I learned that hit me the hardest: “People overestimate what they can do in 6 months and underestimate what they can do in 3 years” What I take away from that is I must play the long game. Trust the process and see everything through regardless of anything, just keep the vision activated. #ControlYours
Yooooooo….Fam said “use everybody just don’t misuse them”. Dude the only people I EVER heard say that was ME and my bro’s. We were in our teens when we understood that. I’m in my 40’s and Fam was the only person I heard say that shit since then. Where did you get that??? And btw I am from Detroit 😎
Idk if it was just me but the audio went out around 26mins and came back. But great info and I like how he referred selling, branding, and marketing to 3 steps of dating. 👌🏾
Definitely the pre order because it sets up the next formula of the next designs for the upcoming collection, or what is coming in the current collection..
I learned that you should always know the type of audience that you want to sell to.Remember that your business is a reflection of you. Make prices reasonable & think about the consumer. If you wouldn't spend that amount, then don't expect the majority to spend that amount. Test products with pre-orders to see if it actually sells. Stealing market share will it will attract & retain customers from a competitor. It will also attract & retain more customers than it loses to competitors. Small businesses have an advantage because we're able to sell ourselves to the customer, which creates a personal experience with the customer, unlike the bigger brands. Ex. Thank you cards Sale cycles/Types of consumers: pre-order,me too consumers, standard retail, referral customer, antique buyers These are also categories to create content with.
What I learned in this video is there's 5 different ways to market 5 different customers. Pre-orders haven't worked for me when I've done them a couple of times but James inspired me to do an early access/pre-order method for these new acid wash shorts I am dropping later this month. This will lead to the second type of customers to want it more and then inspire the third type of consumers to buy when we officially drop.
Marketing, sales, branding. Big shout out to James and Nick. That’s the biggest gem that I received from this video. Approaching content totaling different now udig.
I am starting my own clothing brand called "TRADE or fade" and I was originally already looking to speed through the process of pre-orders as quick as possible but after hearing the game you guys brought to my attention i realized how crucial it is to implement pre-orders to get that initial demand
Well one of the most effective ways to engage and boost your sales is to create a website or maybe an app to brand your buisness which I can provide for you as am expert in website design and development
Yes another high level conversation!!! I've written three pages of notes from this video and countless from your other videos. Thank you so much for sharing!
I learnt about the different types of customers. I started my brand after my dad passing and my story is all about trying to find the positive in a tough situation. I want to spread positivity as much as I can and let people know that everything will be ok and that everyone has it in themselves to keep pushing and keep working towards their dreams. I’ve had my online store for almost two years and I noticed that it wasn’t doing as well as it did when I just started. I then found you guys and you have helped me a lot. And in this video directing my product to these different types of customers is really going to help. Also having the limited stock when its gone its gone. Creating that sense of exclusivity will help get people to buy. Its definitely something im going to use in my next drop. Thanks so much for everything you guys have done. You are really helping so many people and it’s mind blowing
My mom recently passed, as well. I too am starting a brand that's focused on her positivity, and I want to spread that positivity around to other people. I'm hoping once I launch my brand, it'll spread like wildfire.
Hey all, C.J. @ Planar Press here. The distinction between marketing to create a market & then sales = selling to that curated market was a huge revelation. Can't wait to implement that. Also the 5 types of customers listed is an interesting way to target specific strategies instead of firing into the dark. Great stuff!
Free game!! I need to learn more about preorders that’s what I want to try to do. Also Detroit, let’s go!! That’s where I’m from and trying to start my brand.
Have to know what type of person you want to sell to. Want to sell yourself over a billion dollar company to interact with customers & build connections with them. 5 types of consumers never thought of it like that. Have to have a sales cycle. I like the preorder method because it builds the hype for the products. Free Game 💯 Be consistent with posting. Can’t get discouraged it’s all a process. Have to get surrounded by a good circle of people. Very insightful video 💯 Getting more knowledge between marketing, sales & branding was helpful.
The biggest thing I learned was definitely about the 5 different marketing consumers. Like I understood the fact there is multiple but you broke it down perfectly
Energy is very important. I need to work on my consistency as far as posting! Nick said something that literally what my brand is about. When he mentioned mindset shift! That's why my brand is called Time to Shift Clothing!!
Biggest piece of info!!!! The advantage I have over big brands is telling my story!!! I want my story to continue to evolve as I continue to do outreach community events! I need those tees to continue fundraising for toy drives this Christmas!
I learned that mindset and speaking positive and speaking good manifestation is key. Along with the company u keep and energy that u allow around you. Don't allow people to speak bad on you. That's bad energy.
I like the thought that you don’t have to have the best quality product 70% is good enough to test the waters and see what your market is looking like. Also, be personal when starting off because people buy from people. 👍🏽
🕊I love this, my brand is bigger than myself. It is apart of me but it's relatable to everyone. I suffer from being consistent and I second guess myself alot(others opinion). I have tondls of ideas. I just have to make them tangible and if i keep listening to the negativity it can make me doubtful. With that being said I hear you both! As I say From passion to progress
This video has added some great value and visions I needed for my brand! Thank you Thank you for all that you guys do for the entrepreneurs community 🔥
Wow....and wow, i had to watch this 2xs and listen the 3rd. Thank you for the education, giving back. i never looked at marketing from those aspects. i truly have learned you really have to sell to self. be honest with what you would do. see the vision and act on it🙏
The pre-order method for capital got me, and the antiques, that definitely gave me some info, and me and my friend will be doing a pre-order, definitely got to use both of those methods, thank you
The front end (social media) is for serving and providing value (your first impression). The back end (email and text list) is for sales & serving your community.
Firstly, I learned more in this 30min video about the "types of consumers" than I learned in four years in business school! I knew the importance of the pre-sale method, however, after attempting a few times (using the tips yall provided in previous videos), it's easy to become defeated and abandon the entire process. However, learning that this method/customer types accounts for 40% of your sales, it's no mystery why those who have mastered this also have high engagement on social media AND consistent sales. I'm not giving up though! Thanks for this jewel! #FreeYourLenz
Thank you for sharing excellent information. I am just starting my brand, and as you said, it is hard; it requires consistency and a lot of work. I feel excited and terrified at the same time, but your video provided clarity and motivated me to keep going
I learned the people who say your generation is not GodLike lied. I learned we can put the money back in our pockets instead of somebody who cares less about our community. I learned we are smarter than we know. I learned not to treat marketing and branding as one. What am I going to do? Stay the Course! #NIce
Wow, it was amazing to hear all this information but I think was has helped us the most is . We learned about the different types of consumers. I like the analogy used about dating and how he made it plain about marketing, selling and branding. Trust yourself and the process.. I will definitely continue to follow.
I have really been trying to make this happen! I just started a pre-order for the new year. I haven’t seen to many results yet but I’m ready to make the push!

Marketing is essential. They must hear about it before they seek out.
