Looks SO yummie❤️ Selleriac is incredible in soups. You just cut it into tiny small cubes, maybe 1 cm or less, and throw it in with the carrots, potatoes and whatever you’ll have in your soups or stews😀 I’ve never used them as you do, but will definately try it❤
I am 37 yo and was able to cook an entire Christmas meal for my parents for the first time this past year. My mom sat in the kitchen as she saw me running around and cooking everything so it would all be done at the same time. She constantly asked if I needed help, and I kept telling her no, that I had it, because I was hosting them. Reflecting back, I think she was just wanting to cook in the kitchen with her daughter, like I would help her cook for the holidays when I was a kid. I hope I have the opportunity to say yes next time and have that memory
It doesn't have to be Christmas or even any holiday. MAKE the opportunity! You'll be glad you did and she'll be happy that you made a special effort to do it! You never regret the things you actually did. You only regret the things you meant to do and didn't.
@@dianapickett1690 Thank you. I'm 69 so, sadly, have had some regrets along the way. I wish I'd internalized that I had the power to change some of them sooner than I did.
Next time your mother visits, please include her in the prep work. It is such a great mother-daughter time that my daughters and I really enjoy. Such fun to cook and bake with them.
I would give anything to cook a holiday meal again with my mom ..I have such good memories of us cooking and laughing and drinking wine together, make the time you both will love it.
Becky I love how you are so caring. You dig into your freezer and get all types of meat out to cook for your entire family and friends without even thinking twice. You give your canning products as gifts and share the abundance in your garden with them as well. You are such a giving person, truly exceptional😇😇😇
I love watching you work with your mom. Pardon an old lady who is of an age where nearly everything reminds her of a story. My story is about a bride who was fixing her very first roast for her new husband. She cut the end off of the roast and put the majority of the roast in one pan and the end she had cut off went in another pan. Her husband watched her intently and as far as he could see she prepared them both identically so he didn't know why she put them in two separate pans. He asked his bride why she cut the roast in two pieces and cooked them in two different pans and she said she didn't really know. She just did it because that's the way her mother always did it. She called her mother and asked her why she cut the end off of a roast and cooked it in two different pans and her mother said she didn't know but she had always done it that way because that's how she had seen HER mother do it. The bride called Grandma and asked her why she cut the end off of her roast before she put it in the oven. She asked, "Was that so it would cook faster or did it effect the taste in some way?" Grandma said, "Not at all. I had to cut the end off of the roast because the only pan I had was so small that a roast would not fit in it."
I always love seeing you with your mom. I feel like she's our internet mom as much as we've seen you and her cook for party's and other things. Always great to see a video with mom Susan

Absolutely, I used to love cooking with my mom. I learned a lot from her & she learned from my grandmother who passed when I was very young. I now love cooking with my youngest daughter (44) & husband - we’ve become a team in the kitchen. The oldest daughter (47) isn’t interested in cooking but she’s great at doing the dishes after our meals.

Becky, another wonderful video with Mom! Thank you. I love the loving energy you create. Celery root is used widely in Turkish cuisine. We rarely use the celery you use in the U.S. Celery, for us, is the root. Celery root cooked in olive oil and orange juice is very tasty and it is eaten cold like a salad. The leaves and stems can be dried and may be used in chicken and meat dishes, spagetti sauces and soups as a spice. We make the cream of celery soup with the celery root.
I love the celery root. Unfortunately, it's difficult to find where I live now. If I can find one I certainly will cook mine with your ingredients. Thank you 😊
Your mom is absolutely adorable!. She's so right about the swedish dishcloth. I love them! I miss my mom so much, and watching her makes my heart so happy ❤

I just love it when your Mom is on with you - she oozes sweetness! I could listen/watch her for hours ❤
I store my bay leaves in the jar in my freezer, they stay good for years then, they also don’t seem to go dusty as they do if stored in the cupboard. It’s great watching you and your Mum working together, it reminds me of working in the kitchen with my Mum who passed over 25 years ago. It is lovely the way you appreciate her.👏👏❤️❤️🇬🇧
I always enjoy watching you and your mom cook and decorate together ❤️. My mom passed 5 years ago, and it is such a blessing to see the nice relationship you two have together!!! And she is such a natural on camera and she has many good tips!!! 😊❤
