Another winning performance and arrangement from Duvone Stewart. They'll be the front runners for a 2nd straight Panorama title for 2019. I love the creativity Duvone came up with from the song. Lots of great intricate runs intermixed between the sections capped with a finale that got me pretty excited.
And look towards the end of the performance...I think Duvone is pointing to Jit's mural and giving a salute & bow!! Wonderful! Great job Duvone. Renegades are definitely back!!
Duvone Stewart has given Renegades another winning arrangement. The phrasing in this piece is brilliant.

This became my band going on 6 years now because of Devon working with my uncle band san juan east side symphony I'm a solo man but I.less they let new blood in they will never ever make it in the top 5 so I jump ship and what good ship to jump on do your think BP

No Sigmund, Invaders rendition is not better. Not even close. Duvone was a lot more innovative & creative. Invaders never wavered from the main chorus of the song, they really beat it to death. Lack of imagination and phrasing, it was way too much throughout the 8 minute length. It got pretty boring after a minute. You've got to listen closely to what Duvone did throughout his arrangement, very reminiscence of what Jit Samaroo use to do back in the 90s. A lot of complex counter runs and there were times the mid range pans took over the melody while the front lines played support. Done well, like the players performed here and it changes the whole sound of the band. I wish more bands would do things like this instead of pounding the front line tenors throughout the whole arrangement. Just a fantastic job by the players.
And this is just the Prelims too, let's see what Duvone has in store for the Semi Finals and the Finals! (I'm surprised the judges placed Invaders that high, I'd put them a solid 4th or 5th place). Duvone and Renegades will win again this year.
