OVERVIEW
Toneforge Disruptor is a virtual guitar rig plugin & standalone app that simplifies guitar tone and provides all the necessary tools for guitarists, mixers, and producers to create detailed metal tones. Developed in collaboration with Dino Cazares, the guitarist for Fear Factory, it is the first virtual rig to offer DI Match Technology, String/Tuning Mode calibrations, and AI-matched Dino Cazares tones using a Neural Network algorithm. The plugin also includes an Autonomous Dynamic System, a built-In Dynamic EQ, three Amp Channels, a redesigned Cab Room, and a complete suite of effects pedals.
Dino Cazares and Joey Sturgis have been pioneers in the use of digital modeling technology to create guitar tones that were previously unattainable. Cazares is a founding member of Fear Factory and has been using digital amp modeling and extended-range guitars since the 1990s. His work has inspired many metal and rock artists to add extended-range guitars to their sound, leading to some of the most innovative tones of the last 30 years. Sturgis, a producer and engineer, has also contributed to the use of technology in guitar tone and has worked with bands such as Asking Alexandria and Of Mice & Men. Together, their influence continues to shape the sound of modern metal and rock music.
THE SOUND
JST embarked on a mission to design a next gen virtual guitar rig that boasts a unique set of features unparalleled by any other amp sims currently available on the market. But this is so much more than an amp sim.
Toneforge Disruptor was born from our collaboration with Dino and gave way to three incredible amp models, an all-new cab room with virtual microphone positioning, and a completely customizable drag-and-drop pedalboard. The various amps and tones found in Disruptor are built using a combination of white box, black box, and neural network modeling methods to achieve accurate recreations of various tones from Dino’s career.
That being said, the true power of Toneforge Disruptor comes from the flexibility found around the traditional signal chain. Keep reading for some of the biggest highlights found in the new plugin and how you can get started with them.

I don’t think Dino gets enough credit for the influence his playing and tone have had on modern metal.
There would literally be no metalcore, deathcore, djent, basically any genre of metal that uses palm muted riffs syncopated with the kick drum.
Fear Factory do not get the respect they deserve. Straight up injustice.
I think he does. Every one of us knows how much of an influence he and FF have been, don’t we? And there are lots of us! 🤘
He's definitely one of my main influences, as a guitarist, and even as a producer in the studio.
@@Fkod88 I don't agree. I think a lot of these kids palm-muting chugs with that Demanufacture guitar tone today probably never even listened to Demanufacture.
Dino was so ahead of his time. What he does still sound as fresh and relevant as it gets.
💯
I think Dino is a VERY underrated guitar player, he deservers more credit then he gets man.
I've listened to this track so many times that it's always the top recommended video every time I sign into youtube and no matter how many times I refresh.
2 seconds into that verse riff and you know exactly who the guitarist is. The syncopation and groove is unlike any other band. Fear Factory continues on!
This man diserves the "RIFF MAN" title !!! Over 30 years of carrer and still impressing us ALL !!!
Definitely one of the best rhythm guitar players ever imo.
💯👍
One of your favorite, but far from being one of the best! ;)
@@8ori5 "One of the best "but not the best .
@@8ori5 nah man, Dino's one saving grace is that his right hand is absolute solid gold. I know there's plenty of people doing what he does today but back in the mid 90's not quite so much. Even at nearing 60 years old he's still right as fuck and more importantly, creative enough to want to make new music. I promise you, even today, there's not many younger players who could put stamina him with his picking hand.
@@revivedfears I'm sorry but i disagree. There's tons of guitar players who have a wayyyyyy better rhythm hand, even if you went back in the 90's: Mustaine, Thordendal, Hanneman, Townsend, Suimez, Karlsson ...Litteraly tons !
Nowadays, there's an other tons of guitar player who are objectivly better than him, even on UA-cam: Jason Richardson, Dean Lamb, Kevin Heiderich
Creative? Dino plays the same type of riffs and rhythm since forever. If this track would pop out from a lambda band, i'm pretty sure it won't get so many views. The fact that FF got credit was not because of the guitar work but because the band genre proposal, its approach was pretty unique when they starts, there were the link between nü-metal and industrial music. Today, this does'nt sound very "inventive" and "original".
I like how Dino's guitar tone keeps upgrading the more technology advances... Totally matches his signature style and FF's theme.
Just like their sound.
Dino is a machine...
This guy is a riff god.Perfect. Love it. Dino did it again.
Dino really is a machine of it's own kind! What a legend, been listening since 5y old and still love it.
Who needs shredding when you've got riffs like these? Killer, just killer!
That 8 string riff at the end is sick
Hell yeah. Caught me off guard when it dropped. 😂👍🏾🔥
I liked this reef
The eight string metal guitar is mind blowing! Just wait guys some other band will shred it thanks to Dino and FF! Been listening since first album, saw them three times and never disappoint!
@@Rhamsody It's just.. what's the word I'm looking for.. rude! Rude in a good way tho.
Hell yeah it is. I keep replaying it.
thank you Dino for being here. Love your work!
I think Burton was the one who really made that band... Not Dino
@@raygefdz4423: You have no idea Ray
More whining
Dino is a fucking beast. \m/
I LOVE THIS BAND
A legend in his own time. It's not easy to have such a recognizable style and sound but you know it's Dino when you hear it.
I started my metal journey with Fear Factory and over the years i strayed from this path to shred solo wankery and strange techniques.
I decided to go back to the roots and it was the best decision i have ever made.
Dino is a beast when it comes to machine like riffs and to learn his guitar riffs has become my long term goal from now on.
and to know Tony is back there jamming too, makes me sooooo happy.
Dino has a black belt in metal guitar. I still love Demanufacture, when I first heard that I couldn't believe what I was hearing they were ahead of their time \,,/
king of riffs
Been a fan of FF since 1995 and in 2023 Dino is still nailing it
I hope hes still doing these videos in another 30 years time, I wanna see super old dudes smashing out riffs still
Perfect Mr.Cazares thank you for all memories,Gyllen/Violent Work Of of Art
cant wait for the vocals on this. FUCKING BRUTAL DINO.
Dudes picking attack is lethal and his riffs are fucking brutal. Give this man his flowers 💐 👏🏻
that outro riff ! ❤
A living guitar legend! The most insane picking in guitar history! Loved it!
Играет конечно мастерски нет слов🤘🤘🤘💣💣💣
Can’t stop listening to this! Can’t wait for a new album!!
Oh yeah 🤘🏼
Legend.
THE RIFF BEAST LESSSSS GOOOOOO!!!!!!! CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR MILO'S VOCALS ON THIS!🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽 LOVE DINO'S RIFFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THERE'S NO ONE LIKE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dino Cazares is like the Gene Hoglan of guitars. You could set your watch to his playing.
Yep. Wish Gene and Dino had gotten to play together for longer. Together they were an unstoppable force.
Gene Hoglan hates Dinos guts, and has erased his time in FF from his career, never talks about it.
@@mind5403that being said, it was a perfect match.
@@mind5403 Gene didn't say anything bad about Dino dude. But, he wasn't into FF, he just did it as a favor to Byron.
Not hating as I love FF and Dino, but a lot of it comes down to editing.
LEGEND RIFF MASTER!!!
Dino is a phenomenal guitar player , innovator and one of my biggest guitar inspirations he definitely doesn't get enough credit and i said it many times Fear Factory has impacted modern metal so much i can't believe how little they are mentioned in all those conversations ! Anyway , i love them !:)
Hope to hear this song on streaming services soon
This song absolutely rips from beginning to end. Gives me chills.
Can't get enough of this song and Dino's amazing riffs
My entire musician life has been modeled by him and Stephen carpenter. The simplicity yet complexity of their strings are bar none. 🤘🏻
I first heard Obsolete in 1998. I was blown away. I had been into Korn, Sepultura and Deftones but had not heard anything like them. Then I went back further and found Demanufacture and was in love. Dino's style is unmatched in the metal world and he has been an inspiration to me for guitar playing for 25 years. I hope he understands what an impact he has had on the heavy music world.
Been a fan for over 24yrs so I am Interested in hearing how this will sound like without Burton. Keeping an open mind 🤘🏼
I've tried, unfortunately melodic vocals do not work well for me with the new vocalist
I honestly think that 2 singers would be INCREDIBLE. One for Growls and the other for the Melodic parts!! FIRE🔥.
@@brocu1 What do you think of my idea in my previous comment?? About a growler and melodic vocalist instead of just one.
@@jaydaniel2145 Nah. Either get someone talented enough to do both or don't, that's what made Burton so damn good
@@jaydaniel2145 it is not for me to say, rather for the guys from FF ;)
Dino seems happy. And those Ormsby guitars sound amazing! New FF sounds like a return to form. You love to see it.
Brutaaaal! Increíble haberlos visto en Chile este año! Vuelvan pronto ❤
Dino going full beast mode! He is easily one of the all time best metal guitarists.
Stay strong, Dino. U are amazing, dude!
Dino rules!!!!!
Fear Factory my fave band since I first heard Demanufacture. Crushing and rythmatic as always 🔥🔥🔥
2:56 oh my goooood😮❤
Dino mastered his craft. So many guitarists are dead set on being the fastest, or most creative, ridiculous technique, etc. Dino stuck with his style and stuck with it and truly mastered it. Nothing innovative to see here, no absolutely absurd technique, no wankery, just an artist who mastered his style.
"Nothing innovative to see here"
Dude, he basically coined the machine gun style of riffing everybody is doing.
"no absolutely absurd technique,"
FF's classic albums feature quadtracked riffs. How many guitar players can do that with this level of precision?
I love how you’re both arguing about complimenting Dino. We all love this dude. He’s a legend. Cheers
@Sphereal He's done the same thing since Demanufacture. Yeah back then he innovated and mastered his technique.
Hes simply a smart and efficient guitarist today. More guys need to follow his path of sticking to what you're good at.
@@rhyknowforeverLegendary status without question.
I hope he’s not the reason Burton left. All of that skill goes to waste when the frontman leaves. I’ve seen the new guy live and I can tell you, he’s not it.
Dino is a God of guitar, love the tune🤘
Epic riffage as usual and this plug in is 🔥
Long live Fear Factory 🤘
I have been a devout Fear Factory fan since 95'. Dino changed the way i play guitar and is one of my biggest influences. 🤘
Dino es un genio!
killer tune, cant wait for new album
what a track, what a guitar playthrough, FF forever!
Sick riffage as always Dino.
This playthrough video is ironically enough, the best music video Fear Factory has ever released.
Brazilian big fan bro!
Dino fear factory 🤘🤘🤘🤘👏👏👏
Dino you are way ahead of our time! Show more of the drummer (few secs) and the bassist... You guys still kick ass !
Dino is a fucking legend, loved seeing you guys recently and the next time can’t come too soon!
2:56 + that perfect "transform me into a machine while running, keeping the pace" ... my brain loops that over and over.... we need a longer version of this !
and for sure a new album and world tour!
hope to see you in cologne in december!
As a long time Fear Factory fan, this is a great track. Also the touring you guys have been doing are awesome to watch. Been a pleasure to be a huge fan of the band's music since the 2000's. This track is super tight and full of energy on brilliant riffing yet your signature sound is always a classic form in metal history.
Absolutely killing. He’s like the unsung hero of the modern evolution of thrash.
This new track is great - not only does it have his precise riffage and clean staccato rhythms but it adds a new melodic layer that is refreshing. It's like he grabbed the SYL adaption of Fear Factory back in the day and expanded on that even more. Big thumbs up :) Would love to hear a Devy and Dino collaboration project - it would come full circle.
Your style's in my head, man.
Dino is one of my favorite guitarists.
Can't wait to see you in Bristol! 🤘😝🤘
Everything I have ever written has been an emulation of this guy. No other guitarist has influenced me more.
Dino is killing it! Long live the king!
His technique and accentuation is incredible. One hell of a player; no doubt.
Looking forward to the studio recordings with milo, interested in his rendition of shock
Cheers Dino! Always the biggest inspiration for us. Long live Industrial 🤘🛠️
Dino is my teacher. Love you so much!!!
Verses and bridges- healthy mix of mechanize and the industrialist.
Chorus- genexus like hook.
Love it, deserves to be turned into a proper song best riff in a while Dino 🤘
Awesome playthrough dude. Number 1 original 7 string Metal God.
Obrigado por ter feito essa música! Fear Factory para sempre!
The first time I heard of Fear Factory was back in the 90s when they still played music videos on much music. Dave mustaine was hosting and played replica. I liked it so I bought demanufacture and was hooked. At that time it was unlike anything I had heard. But even now when you hear a Fear Factory song you know it's them. Dinos style is unmistakable. Even with Burtons departure I'm still excited for this.
what an awesome track... long live Fear Factory \m/
Killer sound! Thanks Dino for the show in bs as! 🤘🏼
He is literally the definition of a master guitarist
Fear Factoryyyyyy 🤘😈🤘
Dont matter who comes and goes as long as Dino is there.
*RIFF MASTER !* 🤘🏻
One of the few guy to use reversed chords in metal like in Replica. I learned a lot from you Dino since 1994 so a big THANK U. Long life to u.
It's more common than you think.
Tremendo como siempre Dino Cazares en esos riffs, un monstruo sin duda 🔥🔥🤘
I'm very excited about the next album.
This song sounds like a modern combination of demanufacture and obsolete😍
Thats some real talent right there. And knows when to use low down tuned notes. When its called for.
He'll yess!! Dino and his sick 8 string!!!!!!!😎😈🤟🦾🦾🦾🦾
@@drunken-skunkit's actually a 7-string tuned like the top 7 strings of an 8. And a longer scale one. Looks like about a 27"
Cazares IS the Soul of the New Machine.
“This is what the next festival needs…..while they figure out what or who they want…”-ib
Aguante Dinoooo 🎸🇦🇷
Just imagine the release of the song❤
Thanks Dino. FF still the best industrial metal band 🤟🇷🇺
This was such a treat! Thanks DINO
Dino is one of those people that droves me into metal
Loved it, hope this is downloadable soon.
earpleasing level radioactive beskar spider of ord mantell junkyard God Bless Dino !!🙏🏾🧿this realm is immortal⚙️⛓
i like when they edit play through videos so no one could ever figure out what's actually being played
Dino is a cool guitarist. Everything is as it should be👍👍👍🤘🤘🤘🤘
Hell Yeah !!!
Fk YEAH!!! Can't wait to hear Milo's vocalls! Awesome track! Love you guys!!!
