Meeting Winter Changed Katrina Simpkins' Life

Katrina has PFFD, which is a birth defect in which her left leg is shortened with the foot where the knee should be. Katrina was very shy and embarrassed about her leg until she met Winter. She and her family happened to visit CMA in 2007, not knowing anything about Winter. The visit changed her life as she realized that if Winter could excel with her disability, so could she. She has maintained weekly contact with David Yates and CMA, and visits CMA on a regular basis. Her story is featured in the documentary Winter, the Dolphin That Can.
