Thanks for all the great info in this review! I was thinking of trying these for a track ultra so it's good to hear they're good for longer distances at slower paces.
This really is a solid shoe and would work well for your track ultra! Salomon is finally doing great things with their road lineup!

It’s a really good shoe! I have no problem recommending it to anyone looking for a light neutral daily trainer!
I had a Salomon road shoe a few years ago, they definitely had room for improvement with their midsole. This sounds better.
I enjoyed the Phantasm earlier this year and agree there was room for improvement. Salmon has come a long way in a short time. This is a competitor for any daily trainer now.
I’m looking for a road shoe that’s similar to the Salomon UltraGlide. I love how it feels when running in them. Hoping these are close to the same feeling.
The UltraGlide uses the same foam but has a lower drop.

A big compliment to compare it to the Hyperion Max.
The Hyperion Max is far lighter, but you pay a premium for that reduced weight.
I might try this as an alternative to 1080v12. Not had a Salomon before but this keeps turning my head and prefer firmer feel in my running shoes.
This will definitely be a solid option for you! It’s as comfortable as the 1080 but rides firmer so, IMO, a little more well-rounded.
@@its_Matt_B_ did my first marathon back in May at 5 hours 8 mins of solid running. 11 minute miles, slow but keen is how I describe it. Will be insteresting to compare Salomon Aeroglide woth 1080v12/13 in terms of degradation at 40 to 50 miles per week of running regularly
I think FF Blast foam (Novablast 1/2) also uses a combination of EVA+Olefin Block Compound (OBC). I wonder if the bounce in this shoe is similar to Novablast 1/2. I really had good experiences with Novablast 1. When I effectively retired the shoe after 300 miles it still had great bounce and hungry for more miles 🥖
I have not run on any Salomon shoes. I hope they can reduce the weight in the future.
I'd guess Salomon has no choice but to lower the weight over the next couple years to keep up with the competition. I did see a photo of an upcoming Salomon carbon plated racer that looked like it had a very light translucent (in places) upper, so i'm keeping my fingers crossed that will be super light!

It’s fascinating is it’s true, but seeing as I’ve never noticed my shoes flicking water, I’m at a loss with how to test it. 🤣
In europe we can already find this shoe for around 120 euros, that I think it is a more correct price for it

I actually haven’t run in the Superblast, but from what I can gather the Superblast is going to ride a little softer than the Aeroglide.

🥖 perhaps that the extra rubber on the outsole is for hanging up the shoe on the wall when the shoe is retired 😂
I’d have to stretch it out a bit, but I could probably manage it! 🤣 This is probably the most useful suggestion I’ve heard for the extra rubber!
@@its_Matt_B_ yeah.. Solomon doesn’t want you to throw those shoes away whenthey are done. Hang it up forever. The outsole probably has gone and midsole became flat but the upper should still look great out display in your living room . 😂🤣😂. I only keep my endorphin speeds .. which gave me all my PBs. The rest can go to the trash 🚮. Max cushion shoes to trash 🚮

@@its_Matt_B_ August 2023， but I don’t think I like it more than Speed 2. Your Smurfy blue Speed 3 already going the wrong way for me . Saucony has realized that the speed 2 has dampen their sale on the pro 2 so they will be want that to ever happen again..…. I am looking at the NB rebel 4 since that series has been improving to my liking. ☺️
