    That bronze color on the reverted Pink Princess is pretty!!
    Imagine it in a Southwestern style home, library core, gothic style and more
    My Hoyas only revert due to lighting issues. Most people fail to give Hoyas their required lighting, sadly. Mine are only going more variegated with more light. It makes sense for the plant to survive

    You are very good in telling everything about whichever plant you are talking about

    I find that my hoya crimson queen will put out white leaves, but they always start turning green from the center outwards. I also have not seen any reversion, even on the leaves that are not near the window.

    I've been wanting a pink princess but costs farms reviews on their website say ppl are getting no variegation in the leaves and they're being told it's BC the plant is young 🤷🏼‍♀️ soooo unless I find one by chance in store with a ton of pink I won't be ordering! Or, MAYBE, if the price comes down to a normal price 😬
    No clue if my alocasia pink Dragon is naturally pink stemmed or not but I love that plant, all 6 of the stems are pink. I have a Zebrina but I bought it knowing it had green leaves, I like the stems as they're like a white brown animal print. It's an animated plant compared to the pink Dragon and my Amazonica African Mask (Polly). The Zebrina leaves flip around through the day which I find interesting as it's under a lamp not the Sun, so it's not like it should chase the light 🤣
    My Golden pothos confuses me as much of the growth is pain green (beautiful though) and I was under the impression it is variegated naturally in the wild, so how does it "revert" of it's natural state is to have the yellow? 🤔 I may cut the green back and pot it up or I may just get another plant ☺️ It is getting plenty of light and humidity so I find that a bit weird. "They" say to just give more light, but I don't want to put it out in the sun for two months 🤷🏼‍♀️ I also have a wet stick of golden pothos and it's in a 2 inch pot and just put out its 4th super cute tiny leaf and there is no variegation and it sits in the window so it's getting bright from about 4am until 10pm right now 🤷🏼‍♀️

      So I went down a bit of a rabbit hole after reading this because I also thought that the golden pothos was naturally variegated but so many bloggers out there are claiming it isn’t that I was starting to think maybe I was misremembering. But then I finally found multiple scientific journals confirming it is natural stable variegation. So I wonder if maybe yours is some kind of cultivar that wasn’t labeled as such and that’s why it’s reverting (because you’re right that should be plenty of light). Alocasia stems are naturally that way and remain that way which is so cool. I actually tried finding out more of the science behind their stem colors and patterns when I was researching to do this video but I had to be like, “Stay on track Drea, we’re not covering that topic in this video.” Lol!

      I can confirm that I've had golden pothos switch in and out of variegation. The plants put out all or mostly green leaves when under suboptimal conditions (less than ideal light, grown in mini solo cups), then after being potted up and given more sun the new growth is variegated, partly speckles and partly sectional. Given that the variegated parts of a plant don't photosynthesize, I can understand why they might turn of variegation in lower light areas.

      You’ll probably have an easier time maintaining the variegation on the Burle Marx but let us all know how things go with the Pink Princess

      That is a very good question. I’ve been searching around and so far I have not been able to find a solid answer but I will let you know if I do.

    All of the unstable plants can be controlled with cutting it back to a variagated segment.

    All the research I’ve done says the aurea is a stable variegation

    • @AlohaPlantLife
      @AlohaPlantLife  Рік тому +2

      It's more stable than say an albo but it is still Chimeric variegation which by definition is unstable. Now, that's not to say that there aren't perhaps tissue culture versions of aurea plants being produced and sold in which the biological engineers have genetically manipulated the plant to be even more stable by introducing the desired gene into the genes of a host plant to create the desired more stable effect. But true aurea plants do not have 100% stable variegation.
