She could have been a Judy Collins, a Joan Baez, she had and has the talent to be one of the greatest female pop stars of all time. I'm so thankful she chose Jesus.
Honeytree, I know the feeling. I was called into the office and reprimanded for about 20 minutes for "being too happy all the time. No one is that happy. Work isn't suppose to be fun." All because a customer was yelling and upset that some machinery quit working, and I simply and sincerely asked "Are you having a bad day today??" And when I was reprimanded for being too happy, I had to bite my tong because I was about to ask Rich, the boss, "Are you having a bad day today??" As Dion Dimucci said quite eloquently, The Truth Will Set You Free!! Since 1980 I have walked with God and Jesus. Not a fanatic, just realistic. And everything became into crystal clarity when I should have died. Not came close, should have stayed dead. I lost about 2 years before and 4 years after the heart attack 16 years ago. Only 8% of us live with the heart damage I have, but improving year by year. Walking Away With you has new meaning since. Amy Grant is good cover, but not the emotion and passion you had.
I remember the first time I heard Honeytree at Willoughby Hills Friends Church here in Ohio, probably 1975. So glad I happened to stumble onto her UA-cam channel. Love this song and have been encouraging my friends with her clip of “Something Good”. ❤️ thank you for your ministry, your voice sounds just as good as it did back in the 70s!
My parents became Christian's in the mid 1970's. The line about "anybody as happy as you must have been smoking in the boys room. But sir I'm a girl." I finally found what song it was from.
Dear Laura - thanks so much! I am so grateful to sing for Jesus! He is totally faithful! Tons of blessings to you. Love in Jesus, Nancy Honeytree Miller
I don’t know how to get in contact with you, Miss Honeytree, but I just started to hear about you recently. I’m checking out a few of your albums, and I love you so much. I have a sister who doesn’t have much faith in Christian music, and she loves you, too. Your changes remind me of James Taylor and Carole King at the same time. God has really blessed you with such a wonderful talent. We live where your mom did, so you can come hang out with a couple of your new fans and jam someday. That’s be fun! God bless you.
Honeytree, I know Amy Grant did the cover of Walking Away With You, but your version is much better. I recorded hours of CCM music to try to capture your performance, but no luck. I know it is what, 30 or 40 years on, but can you do the full orchestra version again????
Oh how I loved my 1st cassette tape with this song on it. You still got it sister!!
