*Hey Andrew, just wanted to say thanks for your great videos which inspired me to have a go prior to risking my Tundra on floats! I made a few tweaks ... used a bigger box as the centre of the frame so there's no deck, and used two motors with reversing ESCs and trick mixing on the Taranis. I needed to move the Lipo right back and add a bit up up-thrust on the motors to stop the bows digging in ( **tinyurl.com/y4a9v6j2** ) but it goes pretty well now. I have everything (radio, ESCs, battery, LEDs) inside the box ... used 60A ESCs to reduce the risk of overheating (each motor pulls 15A on full throttle). Thanks again, Bill (UK). A very short video of mine:*

Motors are bad, I a have a 1 meter Victoria racing yacht that hasn't needed to be charged in years of use and it has steering and a winch for trimming the jib and main sail you dont need motors

    First of nice model
But something is telling me that instead of your forward , mane and mizzen mast bases going all the way to the keel that you only have the masts base just sitting on the deck , with the only support being the rigging .
The thing is that the decks also give support to each mast .
The base of the boom mast is also attached to the keel after a fashion .

It depends of what kind of model you want to build. This is a c1 model so it does not matter. If its not visible you do not need to build it. Otherwise you need to make also real frames, capstain below top deck, full detailed cannons on lower deck etc etc.The masts are 2 cm inbeded in the frame.

You may say that now but if one breaks loose it will take whatever is near the base .
      I'm speaking from experience .
It is best to do it with the extra bracing .
I've been building both kits and scratch built for around 50 + years and had done 14 Museum displays in my time along with several hundred private displays for Home and Office .

    Hi Ghiga,
Can you help me by revealing how on earth the lower deck canons are placed in position? Do you just push them through the square holes from the outside in? I cannot think of another way since the upper deck is placed already in the beginning of the build. But with the wooden support of the canons they are to big to push through. I am confused...

    • @gornelmagic1911

Giovanni Blue HI! THEY ARE PUSHED TROUGH IN PLACE BECAUSE THE SUPPORTS ARE MADE FROM BALSA WOOD (SOFT) THE CANNONS ARE SHORTER AND WITH A PIN IN THE END. THEY ARE HELD IN PLACE BY GLUE. THE THIRD PICTURE SHOWS THE SUPPORTS. WATCH CAREFULLY ALSO THE CANNON BARRELS PICTURE

    • @TheAiurica

Usually, putting sails on a model obscure a great part of details. With no sails, all details are visible in full splendor. :)

    • @npc6817
      @npc6817 6 років тому

@@TheAiurica I beg to differ, all the details are still there and will reveal themselves as you look around the model instead of overwelming you all at once, all while giving the ship a good breath of life.
But then, I suppose this debate has been going on since forever for a reason so, to each their own I guess..?

How is this considered a complete log from start to finish? There are huge jumps from slide to slide, and zero explanation of what is going on at any stage. Great job on the ship, but not so great job on the title. The description also states: "Detailed construction log..." That's more than a little misleading.
