- Testing the pulling power on a very steep hill with a trailer that weighs approximately 200 pounds (not 250 like I said in the video) and a 220 pound rider. Here I'm in 1st gear and I was easily able to peddle while staying seated. It has enough torque to fully load the trailer to about 300-350 pounds total.

Great video guys. We like Montreal! Thanks for doing this. I will share it on our Facebook channel and on our Voltbike Mariner website page.
VoltBike Thanks! The Voltbike Mariner is a tough little mini bike with so much potential for different uses! It's a simple setup and simplicity is always efficient, easy to maintain, and stress free! Thanks for your great work!
O.k. Thanks for the explanation. It's just hard to tell how steep the hill is from the video - cheers!
Hey man nice vid. Just wondering how she does in the rain?(Does the battery get wet) just asking because I live in Vancouver the rain central
Hey there! Yes, the battery gets wet, dirty, and snowy, but it's ok because the way the plug goes in nothing can get up inside. Rain is not a problem...fully water proof system. We now use a bigger, stronger Bafang BBSHD and it's completely sealed! Ride safe!
@@nettoyageadriance actually that Mariner had many issues with water getting into the electrical compartment at the bottom due to no seal where the wires went in and sometimes even the screw plate was not properly sealed - the newer ones generally have that problem fixed but ocassionaly it pops up again and i would look closely at it as it may not be sealed properly .
can anyone tell me the weight capacity that the mariner can carry as the rider??? just the rider, not pulling anything
Hey Lu! Great question! The Voltbike Mariner has a weight capacity of 350 pounds.
You call that a steep hill!?
Ha ha ha, well any hill hauling a heavy trailer is "steep". This hill is only a few hundred feet distance but 101 feet tall so you do the math...it's steep enough to test out pulling with our different ebike motors.
how well it goes in the real city slush snow? i'm planing to get one for montreal too. cheers!
Hey! It goes very well through deep slush. It comes stock with Kenda off road tires that have really good tread for the snow. I use road slicks for the summer but use the Kenda's for snow. Where in Mtl are you located? Wanna see the bike? I'm downtown.
Pure Water Window Cleaning , thats great to hear. thanks! I'll text you to the number on your website. cheers
Is it necesary to change the tires when its not winter? Can i just keep the fat tires for all seasons?
No, the 4" tires it comes with are well suited for all seasons, in offroad or winter conditions just deflate them to a lower PSI to get more traction or keep them at a higher presure for a more efficient ride on road.
You may want to rinse the bike if you go through slush though, the salt content is gonna wreck you pretty fast if you store it indoors.
How fast dose it go?
It has a governor that allows it to top out at 32 km/h or about 20 mp/h.

Ok thanks.
who makes that trailer?
Louis Ross We designed and made it! We purchased the stainless steel frame and built on it.
Yukon or mariner for snow?
Either one. They are almost identical. The Yukon is 750 watt and the Mariner is 500. The Yukon has 26 inch tall fat tires as opposed to the Mariner's 20 tall fat tires so the 26 inch tires will have a slight advantage in snow.
...an older mariner with almost slick tires - the new ones have front sus and Kenda knobbys - and btw , not the brightest move bikeing especially with all that weight with one habd - dangerous to you AND others - gives all us other ebikes and bikers in general a bad name
