I, for one, continue to be a huge fan for your remarkable honest transparency! I also think maiden flights are essential to the all-round RC experiences that enthusiasts have. And most importantly, for the purchaser to check & do any necessary "fix" before their maiden flight! Your knowledge & insights are huge for the RC community! JP♥️⚓s
After watching a bunch of your RC plane reviews, I thought you know what would be really cool is if you guys could add a video overlay of some sort either by directly showing your transmitter in a PIP window, or a graphical display of your real-time controller inputs as you fly. I've been mainly into RC vehicles, but watching you guys fly is giving me a lot more confidence to jump into RC flight. I know I'd learn a lot by being able to see you work the transmitter controls in real time with the flight footage. Just a thought. Keep up the great work. I won't even consider buying an RC without looking for reviews by you guys first!
Thanks for you concise video. I watched it much after I flew mine. I also liked my CG at 70mm. It was tucking the nose in on turns at 66mm. Just my opinion but, When a person gets model it's always important to check EVERYTHING, no matter who supplies it. My wires were neatly stuffed in the channel and stuck with two side tape. I did remove a couple of the vanes on the intake as the fan was starving for more air. Kudos to your honesty! Thanks for your excellent videos.
OK, I pulled mine out of the box and sure enough, the wires are visibly quite loose. I'm not even going to assemble it until I have those wires secured down. I opened it up and gently pulled on the servo wires. They were slack enough to easily reach the fan blades!!! 😳😔. Eachine should have caught this design flaw BEFORE sending these out to customers.
100% agreed, but glad you are smart enough to do a bit of research before flying. Even better, you may be smart enough to be Subscribed!! 😉😁 Lol, we will get this thing in the air one way or another! 😎⚓
@@TheRcSaylors I've been subscribed to the RcSaylors for a few years now and honestly, I have made more than a couple purchases of drones and planes based solely on your reviews. 👍😎
Man what a bummer. It seems QC simply didn't catch that issue. But looks like a easy fix if a bit of hot glue was used to sercure that connection.Hope you are able to fix the cut wires and show it's potential.Hot glue is your friend.Good try tho.At least those that already have them do a check and fix that issue before first flight. Thanks for the heads up.
I just hope you fix it quickly and get it back on the video. A lot of times don’t the prerelease stuff sometimes have quirks that the final versions don’t have? I love y’all guys and all your videos but I hope that turns out to be a good plane. I would have loved to see this video with the video of where you fixed it and what you thought about it afterwards. Like I said I’m not complaining I’m just interested in that as a first edf. They’ve came along way with those edf fans in the last few years. Thanks for always being your selves guys. Y’all are the best
That might be it! They push to get something new out, to see the response of the product then work on the details. So probably a rush and missed a few things.
Thank You once again for the honesty!! 😎👍 I just received my F-16 (waiting for the delayed AGAIN P-47). I havent assembled mine yet so I will take a long hard look at everything before assembly. I will be looking forward to your RE-maiden soon. Keep em coming! 😊
Hi , you need full throttle and a hard toss for hand launching on an EDF set up aircraft. This is where mode 1, Tx set up up comes in handy for hand launching.
OMG!!!! I'VE been waiting for someone to out out a video on thos since it came out!! I wanted to see it fly before i bought it! So excited to watch this video! Thank you RC Saylors!
There are quite a few nice 3 or 4 channel pnp EDF jets that have been around a while, sold by US shops like Motion RC, Bitgo, and Hobbyzone. I'm looking forward to seeing how the new Xfly T7 reviews go. A lot of these 64mm jets dont hand launch very well because they require a good amount of speed to get stable. CG is really critical too. I like the Arrows Viper and Marlin, Freewing Lippisch all tried and true with lots of fans.
I have tje Marlin and it does fly very well...as long as the cg is correct. My first flight i was extremely tail heavy and was lucky to bring it back n land it.
Thats a little much for a plug and play of that size ! Did eachine use a solid gold fan ?? Freewing has a 64 mm plug and play for like 110 and has great details for what it is y'all should check out some of those budget jets. But I am glad y'all checked this one hope you guys get it going I wanna see it go and it's my favorite bird haha
Fudgestickles you make us wait. I really really hoped you would say, but thanks to the power of editing you can see how it flies. Without a proper flight it's not a proper test sailors😅
Its not really your fault bc if you didnt know going in it woildnt be obvious, but there is a super tiny piece of tape on the leads that go to the receiver and it says secure esc before flight. But this video helped so many, and it led me to get one of these planes. Now that I knew how to fix it, it flies very well any you can get about 70-80 mph stock. I put in a diff esc and converted it to 4s and should be able to break 100mph
A nice looking plane. Awesome colors. Shame about the wiring design fail. Yes...even an "old school" builder, I understand (and am not offended by) your comment about this being a "build". And it appears you did a fine job...wing root glue "seams" not withstanding. Fix the wires...and lets see how it actually flies. Best to you both. (Happy to be one of your P supporters)
Maiden flights are very nerve racking. I just bought a umx turbo timber and the elevator control wire was not attached to the elevator horn. I caught this before my first flight but it could have been really bad! It flies great. Love the lights. Your video on the umx turbo timber convinced me that I had to have one. Thanks for the advice!
Maaaaaan, what a bummer. Hope it all gets looked at very seriously by the maker. Thanks for sharing you’ll . Better luck next time. Keep up the good work.
I think that it a quality control issue. It looks like a well engineered plane, and as you said, there was a channel for the wires, but they were not tucked into the channel. I do hope to see the plane on the channel again, fixed.
That sucks, maybe this is a product that Eachine subbed out to another company and didn't watch quality control. It's really cool they are stepping up their game without asking crazy amounts of money for it. It seems under powered, you probably have enough room to upgrade it to a 64 mm edf and upgrade the esc to 50 amps, then you can fly it on 4S....
5:45 I think it's not just your opinion, I think it is a fact. You guys just saved people some money if they do get this plane. Step 1: secure internal wires. Sure hope you get access to this and can fix so we can see how it flys.
Spent about two hours last night working on this. Cleaned it up very nicely in my opinion. Took photos for documentation! Sadly, installed a crap Hobby King servo... gonna have to do it all over again 😢😢😢⚓
Also, thank you all very much for doing the maiden flights! This is a great reminder to every rc hobbiest to do a quick check of all wires, pushrods, nuts, bolts, etc. Before flying, or driving any of ones rc vehicles.
Yeah put new wires in, you said that there's a slot/chanel, put some glue so this doesn't happen again. If Eachine (think that's right) sees this... Might come up with a better or different mounting bracket for the wires, because looks like that's the only problem that did go wrong.
Here is a great opportunity to show some repair footage. It's all very well turning up with it repaired but the difficulty in doing it would be of interest to a lot of folk, especially newbs. Thanks for great videos.
Love the little f 16. Very easy problem to overcome. Love the scheme. Definitely be thankful for every day 🙏 you never know what the next one holds for you. Nice review. Fix it and let's see some flight of this cool little f 16👍👍😎👊✌🙏🙏
The F-16 is one of my all time favourite war birds. It is such an impressive, well designed aircraft. I want to have a scale RC version in my "hanger" and I really thought this might be the one. Keep us posted you two. I'm excited to see a Maiden Flight Re-do, once it's all patched up.
I watched this again. I'm going to chalk it up to poor assembly there. I believe they install the wires then glue the top half to the bottom. There is definitely an easy fix for them if there is a channel for the wires. Put them in the channel, strong tape over the wires, then pull slack and tie into the forward compartment. Somebody just rushed that one (a Friday Night Special maybe) the night before their one day off :)
Good informative video but not the outcome you expected, nor I. It is 'cos of you guys that I bought my first ever r/c aircraft (done boats, subs, tanks etc for years) a month ago. It was the Eachine (Sonix/Volantex) Mustang. Was a great call! Yes. Get that in the air asap as will make a good follow up as interested in how it handles without the rudder. Keep up the good work!!!!!
I understand all that. With these new RTF goalies. You need to go thru the entire model before and during assembly to check for possible defects before attempting a maiden first flight.I found my elevator and rudder servos loose in there mount on my new horizon hobby V900.
It’s honestly not the worst idea. We “shouldn’t” have to do this on RTF or BNF or PNP models, but these days you never know. Thanks for watching! 👍😁😎⚓️
When it was/is available the 64mm Stinger from Hobbyking is much better value I think. 64mm 12 blade edf runs on 4s. Metal gear servos. Rudder. Bolt together. Awesome plane and lots of fun to fly. I think that 50mm unit looks under powered and the wiring setup is dodgy, plus no rudder. Stinger was a lot cheaper too.
Great video!!!!!! Thats the reason we all follow you guys. This only makes us want to see the second attempt even more. Really excited about this jet . Will most likely order after you get the bugs worked out. Great job, God bless.
I was going to buy this, then I watched this video. Gonna be a pass on this jet. You guys should fly the Freewing jets, much better quality at a cheaper price.
My J-Power EDF Corsair 2 I need a hard toss to get it up in the air, I hold the transmitter in my left hand and jet in my right hand, this works for me. Thanks for your videos..............
Nate, in my older F-18 hand launcher that I still have, the ESC is BEHIND the fan and centered to act as a splitter and and to cool it. Maybe they can look at that in their design. Or, it needs to be glued to the intake wall really well!
They are $193 on now. Not a bad plane at all but for the $14 less, I'd pickup the fms f15 eagle 64mm edf. For $26 more I'd definitely get the eflight f15 eagle 64mm edf. This video is good but they should have kepted the price under $160
Too bad!! Unlike Eachine; new product, bad QC/design!! But I have faith that Nate will patch it up and we'll get to see a REALLY COOL 2nd MAIDEN!! Thanks Saylors for the honest review as always!! 💟👍😘
Hi! I had also eachine F16 50mm edf jet like yours, newly arrived but not yet maiden. Actually i was waiting for video review like your's, before i go for maiden so that get some tips & advise, to avoid worse scenario. Waiting for your next maiden ✈. Thank's, Have a nice day & keep safe.
Very nice looking plane!! Really like the price point. I'll bet if you repair the wires, and double back sticky tape them to the inside, I think the plane will fly pretty awesome.
If you guys didn't do maidens I absolutely would not watch so please don't stop lol Who ever said they didn't like maiden flights 🥴🤪 What a weirdo lol Check your connectors where the servo hooks into the receiver the prongs the little connectors push back sometimes Y'all will figure it out I would really like to see it fly Hopefully better luck next time ✌️
Maybe being a bit over-optimistic here, but perhaps Eachine will see this video, and institute some additional quality control on the assembly line to make sure this issue is corrected.
I honestly think they will. It seems they watch all of our videos. I'm sure they don't want thousands (maybe tens of thousands down the road) seeing this and reflecting upon their company. We keep coming back for more Eachine for a reason though. When they hit, they hit hard and in the best way!
The only thing that turns me off this plane apart from the servo wires fixed in dodgy is it has no wheels, I like the look of a plane with its wheels down but that’s just my opinion. Hope to see it fly when you change the elevator servo.
A "build" hmmm ok I'll let it slide but "flybar" come on man! It's hard to know whether it's hilarious or impressive that they copied the livery so accurately that they included the rear seater's ejection placard despite the single-seat canopy fitted :) I am very keen to get my hand on this to vacuum mold a two-seat canopy (always preferred the look of the F-16B) and maybe some minimal interior and mini pilots. I will definitely upgrade the ESC and battery before even thinking about a maiden and I don't care what it takes or how long it takes I absolutely have to install hidden taileron servos - maybe direct drive. I know this is budget and not meant to be an expensive detailed scale model but why not? It looks to be a great platform for a little scale bird. I would be more concerned about the state of the fan than those wires which are easily repaired, an out-of-balance fan less so.
Thanks so much that you did the review I bought this plane about a month ago and no one has made a review and I been looking for a good receiver for this jet
I wonder why eachine did nog go the extra mile as with their other products and put in a 6 axis gyro. Would have made it a great seller. Other caution is that they ir Banggood have nit release any video’s so yours is a first. Well presented guys.
Yah, please! Yank her apart and fix them wires, put em in the right place since they have a dedicated place for them that they just didn't use. The company needs to train their workers better obviously, so anyone who gets this should be aware of the possibility, but we need to be sure it can fly well once fixed or there's no point in buying it.
I spent two hours repairing it last night only to have a bad servo from Hobby King ... sigh. I should have tested it before installing it! I'll get it back in the air hopefully soon!
I have had my eye on this ever since first seeing it on banggood and put it in my wishlist to see if you guys or any channels that I watch. Had high hopes for this. Hope you manage to get it sorted so we can see if it is good. Keeo up the great videos..
So glad I watched this video was about to maiden mine today think I'll sort those wires out first, ps the wings have magnets on them making it easier to carry around
Yeah, Eachine just seems to lack quality control. I got a great drone but the battery that came with it does not work. I bought it on Banggood and I have no idea on how to get Eachine to replace it.
Hello i love your show but could you please tell me you the price went up so much it just make me sick i cant believe there could do that alot of people are going to do a lot of thinking before there make another purchase thank you so much for your show you and your family do a great job
Thank you! Sadly, all things are getting much more expensive. Gas for example has gone up an INSANE amount in less than a year! All things will be reflected upon the entire economy. Truly insanity, and people will definitely lose jobs over this out of control inflation. However we can still enjoy our hobby, and Abby and I will always be here to help people know where their hard earned money can be best spent 👍😁😎⚓
I would hand launch with your right hand for sure! Looks very awkward and weak toss with your left hand. Not too sure why one would start learning to throw with left hand with a brand new rc plane. Yes I understand that it allows you to have hands on the right stick but if you can't throw with your left hand this is a bigger problem than having hands on. Besides I hand launch tons of planes with my right hand and have no problems getting on the sticks fast! Sucky that your elevator wires got sucked down. Doomed from the start. I think a 3s plane that size is too big for a 50mm edf. Needs a 64mm edf on 4s

Considering the manufacturing defect way it crashed I suspect that plane was made by Boeing and not Eachine.

In my opinion a great plane shouldnt come with problems
For 209 hard earned bucks you can get a the 70mm Freewing Rebel v2 . It’s a PnP with retracts that runs on a 4 cell 2200
That jet is junk
It’s actually a decent jet . Check out the reviews . And it has everything, flaps , retractable and actual cockpit with pilot. But each their own

Or, it needs to be glued to the intake wall really well!
good diagnostics followed by rock solid proof + easy fix...satisfying :)
Bummer! Definitely post a follow-up video on this plane. It's one I'm interested in for sure
Definitely try it again!!
They are $193 on now. Not a bad plane at all but for the $14 less, I'd pickup the fms f15 eagle 64mm edf. For $26 more I'd definitely get the eflight f15 eagle 64mm edf. This video is good but they should have kepted the price under $160
I was bummed out at the end but thank you for everything you been doing
Too bad!! Unlike Eachine; new product, bad QC/design!! But I have faith that Nate will patch it up and we'll get to see a REALLY COOL 2nd MAIDEN!! Thanks Saylors for the honest review as always!! 💟👍😘
that is very poor... i expected a little bit more than that... but i am confident that you will get this thing fixed
That's what maiden flights are for.. To work out the bugs.. Good job guy's..
Thanks! 👍😁😎⚓
I would reaaally have liked to see, how it flies could i´d get this as my first EDF plane
Looks awesome, thanks for showing us what to look out for.👍👍👍👍
Not a huge jet guy but hope to see the fly. I am However CRAZY! pumped for the new eachine warbird! P47 thunderbolt!
Very nice looking plane!! Really like the price point. I'll bet if you repair the wires, and double back sticky tape them to the inside, I think the plane will fly pretty awesome.
If you guys didn't do maidens I absolutely would not watch so please don't stop lol Who ever said they didn't like maiden flights 🥴🤪 What a weirdo lol Check your connectors where the servo hooks into the receiver the prongs the little connectors push back sometimes Y'all will figure it out I would really like to see it fly Hopefully better luck next time ✌️
Oh man. I wonder if the blades are okay. That’s rough. I’m glad you stayed to the truth of what happened.
I see how genuinely you presented that plane....waiting for the same video next.
Thanks for the video! They need to fix that. Bad Eachine! No cookie for you!
Please post the repair video and follow up maiden. It would help us newcomers.
Maybe some gaffer tape to hold the wires in that channel? Maybe the manufacturer could do that? I really want to see this fly.
TheRCSaylors is awesome, and they show (and explain) why they are in this video :)
Thank you! 👍😁😎⚓
Concur with you Nate. Maidens are vitally important. Fix it and try again. Be interested to see how it flies. Good vid.
Because it’s made by general dynamics
Haaa very good!
Believe it or not on the official website here in Malaysia they sell that model for around 50 dollar
wheres the link
Yah, please! Yank her apart and fix them wires, put em in the right place since they have a dedicated place for them that they just didn't use. The company needs to train their workers better obviously, so anyone who gets this should be aware of the possibility, but we need to be sure it can fly well once fixed or there's no point in buying it.
Awwww.....want to buy?! I give good price grasshopper! Lol
i just saw an ad for this and i was looking for a rewiew im glad you revied it
Thanks Abby and Nate y'all rock! Love the channel and content keep up the great work! I'm here for the algorithm! Peace
Thank u nate and Abby for tryin it out like i asked really apriciatete lots of rc love from Holland i’m subscribde to ur Chanel stay safe and blessed
Well that sucks. Hope to see it in the air in the future.
I spent two hours repairing it last night only to have a bad servo from Hobby King ... sigh. I should have tested it before installing it! I'll get it back in the air hopefully soon!
@@TheRcSaylors good deal. Bummer about the servo. Joined Patreon you guys are great
Thanks for the video.
I have had my eye on this ever since first seeing it on banggood and put it in my wishlist to see if you guys or any channels that I watch. Had high hopes for this. Hope you manage to get it sorted so we can see if it is good. Keeo up the great videos..
May be you should do another vid on the updated mod to the plane!
Like your videos....hey question...how do you pair new plane with your controller? I'm new to this...
Wires got knarffed !!
cool jet,it happens, fix and try again, all good my friends
So glad I watched this video was about to maiden mine today think I'll sort those wires out first, ps the wings have magnets on them making it easier to carry around
finally holy cow been waiting for so long i hope it sell on amazon so i can buy fast
One fatal flaw...shame you couldn't maiden it. I really like Eachine, and I hope we do get to see it fly.
I am looking at getting a new airplane and this might be a good option so I thought . Right now I have AeroScout s and a Mustang.
Have you tried the Turbo Timber Evo ?
It's really cool ....
Nate, does Banggood or Eachine warranty the product? Are they easy to deal with?
Yeah, Eachine just seems to lack quality control. I got a great drone but the battery that came with it does not work. I bought it on Banggood and I have no idea on how to get Eachine to replace it.
I think Banana Hobby is going to sell that same jet but with the Xfly ducted fan in it
Wow, it ate itself.
Wire bundle chafing, the original curse of the F-16.
Kiinda early squad where you guys at happy flying all 😎😎😎⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️
Hello i love your show but could you please tell me you the price went up so much it just make me sick i cant believe there could do that alot of people are going to do a lot of thinking before there make another purchase thank you so much for your show you and your family do a great job
Shame, but I am sure she can be fixed and flown again 👍🏻
On the very similar Venom 50mm f16, all the wiring is taped into that channel.
im just waiting for a traditional f-16 color variant i hope they make one
Did you guys ever get this one in the air? There doesn't seem to be a lot of flight videos out there yet.
Darn! I was really wanting to see this rip up the sky.
