    The distilled water tip......
    thank you for that!

      I have a small bottle that has 1/2 distilled water 1/4 witch hazel and 11/4 pure glycerin. Shake it for 5 minutes, let it sit for 15 then give it a slow side to side shake and its ready for your thick inks. My Eternals get dry fast and this saves them.

      That makes total sense! Powder based inks are quite different to use, but they do have their place at times. I've gone to Eternal and mostly Mario Barth's stuff.

      The tip acts as your inkwell. If you overload it, and particularly if you run your machine too fast, it's gonna splatter. When you dip your needle groups into your cup, only dip it for a second. Try coming down on your voltage. I run my eight wraps at around seven volts, tops. If you have ten wrap coils, you can come up a little. You never need to go past twelve, even with sunburned roofers with rhino hide for skin. But different machines run differently, so try varying amounts of voltage. If the ink is 'takeing' in the skin, it should be good enough. If you are going faster than that, the machine might cause uneccesary damage to the skin.

      @brainywave8245 5 років тому +1

      @@hayburnerjalopy8532 How do you know she doesn't wrap her furniture when she's tattooing? In the studio I'm in we wrap everything! But stencil marks still get in odd places, for me personally when I'm make a stencil I get marks all over my hands, I then go to wash my hands but on the way have touched a door for example, those marks are now on the door... It doesn't mean someone is going to get an infection cause I got some stencil marks on the door.. There was no need to be so rude to someone who was asking an innocent question

    • @hayburnerjalopy8532
      @hayburnerjalopy8532 5 років тому +2

      @@brainywave8245 It is possible that what you are suggesting is the cause of her purpled vinyl. Apologies to her, if that is the case. I made an assumption becuase I don't see many tattooers walking around with purple smeared hands, especially not enough to track it all throughout the shop unnoticed. Probably because it's easy to keep your hands from wiping across your stencil. In the cases I have been witness to, in which the artist's furniture was left with stencil stains, the cause was an improper barrier between the client's body part being tattooed and the piece of furniture... but it is possible that her issue is a result of something other.

    Very cool & helpful video! Cannot wait to see more! :D
    Just on a side note, got a question to tip no. 3: What if you are into grey-wash? I learned to use distilled water to make black ink thinner/make the shades lighter by using more or less drops with black ink in cups. I often experienced that my cup of pure black ink (without any distilled water) of course dries out over a long sitting. Would not even a single drop of distilled water make the pure black not 100% black anymore, or would it still be full on black? Using IntenZe Suluape Black.
    Hope you understand what I mean :)

    • @jordanbishop6403
      @jordanbishop6403 6 років тому

      Maxi if your using large ink caps wouldn't make a massive difference to your cap of black if not may be worth trying dynamic or silverback ink best I've used :)

    • @kur0yurei
      @kur0yurei 6 років тому

      thanks for your advice @Jordan Bishop ! I indeed have used bigger cups for the pure black ink a couple of times, but after a while the ink would still become kind of thick-ish on the surface especially edges? So annoying to dig in the needle into a thick stuff of ink just to find it dirty and blocked easily whilst using it :/
      And thank you, I will indeed try the Dynamic or Silverback Ink you have recommended as I am still an apprentice finding my way through all the ink brands! :)

    • @LukaLajoie
      @LukaLajoie  6 років тому

      Hi! Thank you for the nice comment! Even if you put 1 drop of water into a medium sized ink cup of black ink, I would not have a problem using it as my 100% black. That drop would not change the value of my black enough to stop me from adding it. I clean my needles in distilled water all the time and I directly dip my needles into 100% black ink even with the needles wet from the previous cleaning. It's not THE WAY of doing it, it just my way :) Thx!!

    • @kur0yurei
      @kur0yurei 6 років тому

      Luka Lajoie thank you for your quick respond as well! Makes actually sense when talking about cleaning the needle and using pure black ink straight away. Will keep it all on mind & of course keep an eye out for your videos! Enjoying the editing and how you view & present your tips! :D

      I can totally relate, when you put a stencil on someone and its not quite in the right position, I've spent a good 15 mins trying to get a stencil off of someones skin so I can then re apply the stencil, it can be a nightmare so I can see why he said its saved his life! 😂

      Watered down how? The works I see now are better quality than ever before, so many talented artists are in the craft now.

      Watered down because people see this shit and think they can go out and buy a kit and bust out tatts in their kitchen like it’s no problem. Information is everywhere.You used to have to earn the knowledge.

      Then get outta it and let the people that want to tattoo do it while your being salty on the sidelines. You are part of the crowd that doesn't want to share shit because you're not artist enough to hang with the new generation of artists
